So, read on and enjoy grins that don’t smell bad!

How We Reviewed

Pet Comfort and Handling: We looked for practices using gentle relaxation techniques to keep animals calm without sedation. A gentle touch can make routine cosmetic cleaning easier for pets who are nervous.
Service Hygiene and Safety Standards: We evaluated sterilisation practices, suitability checks, and clear veterinary referrals. Providers should be honest when treatments may be appropriate or not.
Pricing Transparency and Value: We compared package prices, visit frequencies, and upfront fees to ensure pet parents receive fair value. Solid studios clearly outline their rates without slapping hidden add-ons.
Staff Experience and Training: We prioritised studios led by seasoned technicians who can read animal body language. Deep experience helps them manage anxious pets whilst delivering thorough surface cleaning.

Address: Studio on King, 844 King St W

Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Saturday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Pearly Whites for Pets has over 13 years of hands-on experience treating cats and dogs with incredible patience. They welcome senior pets, first-timers, and breeds needing patient handling.

They operate out of purpose-designed studios in Toronto and Markham. These are built specifically for gentle care rather than operating out of a mobile van or a shared corner of another pet business.

What sets them apart is that they combine scaling and polishing into every visit. They don’t do a quick scrape, but a full tooth polish to help keep your pet’s teeth cleaner for a lot longer.

To top it off, their team keeps detailed visit notes and lets you book the same practitioner every time for total continuity.

Just keep in mind this is purely a cosmetic maintenance service, so it won’t replace medical veterinary care for deeper dental issues.

Pros

  • Complete tooth polish included after hand scaling
  • 13+ years of specialised cosmetic pet hygiene experience
  • Gentle care customised for both cats and dogs
  • Purpose-built studios in Toronto and Markham

Cons

  • Cosmetic service only; doesn’t replace veterinary care

She was kind and patient with us and with our dog

We were worried our dog needed teeth cleaning, but we didn’t want to take her to most places because of the risks (and also the high cost) of anesthesia or sedation. Then we found Karla, who used to be a vet in Brazil and now works at Pearly Whites for Pets, and she explained to us how the natural teeth cleaning works. We felt very comfortable in her presence as she was kind and patient with us and with our dog. We were so happy with the results and relieved to get our baby’s teeth so clean!…

I need a safer, more sustainable alternative

I have a small dog who’s almost 10. He’s a very sweet boy, but when it comes to anything near his teeth, he simply won’t let anyone get close. For the past decade, the only way to get his teeth cleaned was through full sedation at the vet annually. Now that he’s older, I needed a safer, more sustainable alternative. Finding Pearly Whites for Pets was a breakthrough for us. Both visits were with McKenzie, and I was genuinely shocked each time — she managed to work with him calmly, confidently, and without any sedation…

2. K9 Tooth Haus

Areas Served: Ontario

Contact: 647-638-5119 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday – Sunday: 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM

K9 Tooth Haus offers flexible mobile house calls across Ontario. They make it even easier by providing convenient local drop-off clinic arrangements.

Their technicians start by using soft handling and proven relaxation methods to keep pets relaxed during manual hand scaling. They even reward your pet for good behaviour, ensuring a positive, stress-free experience.

After finishing the service, they send digital before-and-after photos. They include a demonstration of proper brushing techniques for easy at-home upkeep.

But because they clean surface buildup above the gumline, you still need regular vet check-ups for deeper oral health issues. You should also remember that they lack a fixed public studio space if you prefer walk-in visits.

Pros

  • Flexible mobile service and drop-off clinic options
  • Uses gentle relaxation techniques during scaling
  • Delivers digital before-and-after photos
  • Teaches owners proper at-home brushing techniques

Cons

  • Limited to visible surfaces above the gumline
  • Lacks a storefront studio

His breath smells nice and all his plaque is gone! I would highly recommend Leyna for your pet’s teeth cleaning needs!

I would highly recommend her to anyone

Leyna did a fantastic job cleaning my Jacks teeth. He was very calm and relaxed with her. She really knows how to make dogs feel comfortable with her. I would highly recommend her to anyone who doesn’t want to use anesthesia to get those pearly whites. Very reasonably priced as well.

Address: 179 Avenue Road

Contact: 416-960-1088 ext. 200 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Dogfather & Co., located in Yorkville, offers non-invasive cosmetic teeth cleaning for dogs and cats. They accept all sizes and temperaments, making them more accessible to pet owners.

Their hygienists use gentle relaxation techniques to ensure a calm and comfortable environment. They won’t force your furry friend if they’re too scared or anxious, which we appreciate.

The best part is that they have a no-charge policy if discomfort prevents the hygienist from completing the session. If your pet needs a more specialised treatment beyond cosmetic cleaning, regular veterinary dental care is still recommended.

The thing is, these sessions only run once a month, so booking flexibility is quite restricted.

Pros

  • Zero charge if cleaning is stopped due to pet discomfort
  • Gentle relaxation methods for dogs and cats
  • Accepts all sizes and temperaments
  • No forced treatment for uncomfortable pets

Cons

  • Sessions are only available once a month

Address: Happy Hounds Home, 3755 Lake Shore Blvd West, Etobicoke

Contact: 416-201-0236 | [email protected]

Hours: Contact for availability

Happy Hounds Teeth is a highly accessible service in the GTA. They operate out of their Etobicoke hub whilst maintaining a huge network of rotating partner locations across Ontario.

Before starting any work, their team performs a thorough mouth and behaviour assessment to ensure non-anaesthetic cleaning is right for your pet.

During the session, they use a dedicated two-person team where one technician focuses on comforting your pet whilst the other cleans. This hands-on approach keeps your furry friend calm and secure whilst allowing for precise treatment.

Even better, they’re strict about cleanliness. They have an instrument cleaning and sterilisation process for extra peace of mind.

However, their pop-up schedule shifts across partner locations. Securing your preferred neighbourhood spot requires planning ahead.

Pros

  • Large network of partner locations across Ontario
  • Pre-cleaning behaviour and mouth evaluation
  • Compassionate two-person handling approach
  • Strict instrument cleaning and sterilisation procedures

Cons

  • Relies on rotating schedules and pop-up dates

This is hands down one of the best pet care experiences we’ve ever had

…knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely caring—it’s clear they truly love what they do and care deeply about the dogs they work with.

My dog can be a bit anxious, but they handled everything so calmly and gently that he was completely at ease. They took the time to explain the process, answer all my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way.

If you’re looking for a safe, professional, and compassionate place for your dog’s teeth cleaning, I highly recommend Happy Hounds. This is hands down one of the best pet care experiences we’ve ever had!

I will definitely will return

Excellent teeth cleaning for dogs. My dog Ozzy received a teeth cleaning Xmas gift from my good friend and I was very pleased with the teeth results. When we arrived immediately the staff was super friendly and Ozzy loved them. Ozzy felt comfortable and it went smoothly, he actually had fun lol. His teeth are nice and clean and the plaque is gone. I actually noticed he doesn’t have bad morning breath anymore lol. Highly recommend Happy Hound Teeth for dog teeth cleaning and I will definitely will return. Thanks so much for making the experience fun for Ozzy.
