Make your yard the envy of the town with the 5 best lawn mowing services in Toronto!

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

In Toronto, a scruffy lawn can make even a solid house look unappealing. When passersby notice every edge, stripe, and patch, I know I need a mowing crew that keeps up without cutting corners.

During spring and early summer, weekly mowing is the sweet spot for keeping my lawn looking sharp and healthy. Once late July and August roll in with the heat, bi-weekly cuts usually do the trick without stressing the turf.

That’s why I pulled together the best lawn mowing services in Toronto for people who need reliable help, not vague promises.

If your lawn needs more than a trim, these professional landscapers can help, too.

How much do lawn mowing services in Toronto cost?

Lawn mowing in Toronto usually costs around $40 to $80 CAD per visit for a standard-sized residential lot.
The final price can go up or down depending on the size of the yard, how overgrown the grass is, and whether the service also includes extras like edging, weed whacking, or bagging and removing the clippings.

How We Chose

Clear pricing – We looked for upfront rates, seasonal package details, and clear add-on costs for edging, trimming, or clipping removal.
Flexible and reliable scheduling – A good crew should offer weekly or bi-weekly plans and actually show up when booked.
Tidy results (with proof) – We want actual proof (portfolio, honest client feedback, etc.) that they leave lawns looking neat, even, and properly trimmed and cleaned up after.
Eco-friendly equipment – Bonus points if they use low-emission or fully electric mowers and trimmers for less noise and fewer fumes!

I wanted a one-off lawn trim without being dragged into a full-season situationship, and Trim Gym Lawn Care looked built for that kind of job. Their lawn care menu goes beyond basic mowing, too, with grass cutting, fertilization, weed control, garden maintenance, planting, mulching, cleanups, sod installation, and stump grinding.

Their pricing stood out to me. It’s easy to clock right away, with one-time lawn mowing advertised as $70. They also push the no-surprise-charges angle, which is exactly what I want when I’m just booking one professional tidy-up for my home.

I also like that they cover a good chunk of the GTA. They’re licensed and insured, and position themselves as the summer counterpart of The Blizzard Wizard, a snow removal company. It feels like a crew already used to year-round property maintenance rather than a random mower-and-go setup.

Trim Gym suits homeowners who want a polished cut without the fuss, especially if they may need regular visits later. It also makes sense for people in North York, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, or Scarborough who want straightforward mowing from a local-style operator (instead of a giant, faceless chain).

That said, most of their clear service area leans more GTA-suburban than old-school central Toronto. Coverage may depend on exactly where you are, but it wouldn’t hurt to verify first.

Pros

  • No-contract setup
  • Easy-to-understand starting price
  • Good fit for nearby GTA suburbs
  • Broad yard-care menu

Cons

  • More homeowner-oriented than niche commercial
  • Not the most central-Toronto-focused service

They were quick, efficient, and paid attention to all the details

Trim Gym Lawn Care did an excellent job with my lawn. They were quick, efficient, and paid attention to all the details like edging and cleanup. The yard looked super clean when they were done. Definitely a company I would recommend. Thanks, team!

They’re always on time, very respectful of the property

I was looking for reliable lawn mowing near Bayview Village, and a neighbour recommended Trim Gym. So glad I gave them a call. They’re always on time, very respectful of the property, and the quality is consistently great. They even noticed a dry patch in our backyard and gave us tips on how to fix it. That kind of attention to detail is hard to find.

As a property manager, my brother needed bi-weekly mowing to keep his site looking managed. Gardenzilla clicked for him because they offer weekly and bi-weekly lawn mowing plans with upfront pricing, saving him from chasing vague costs every other week.

Their core services were properly useful for him, too. Aside from mowing, they also offer garden maintenance, combine lawn-and-garden plans, fertilizer, soil health support, weed and pest control, and even seasonal cleanups (much needed for his clients).

He liked how operationally tidy they seemed. There’s flat-rate monthly invoicing, no long-term commitment, and responses to most requests within 1 to 2 business hours.

He said it feels like a service built for people who manage properties and schedules for a living. They also get extra points from my brother for greener practices, with Fiesta weed control and horticultural vinegar listed in their program, plus their push toward electric garden equipment.

The catch is that they’re very local by design. They only operate in midtown Toronto, so they might not be a good fit for every commercial site across the city.

Pros

  • Flat-rate monthly plans
  • Admin-friendly setup
  • Strong add-on maintenance options
  • Green practices

Cons

  • Tight service area
  • Lawn mowing service is a plan, not a one-off

The employees are quick, efficient, and do a great job

Great company with great employees! I have never used a company before for yardwork, and from the quote to contract and execution, the process was quick, easy and reasonably priced. The employees are quick, efficient, and do a great job cleaning up. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone looking for regular yard maintenance.

The pricing is extremely reasonable

The Gardenzilla team was efficient, thorough, and friendly. The pricing is extremely reasonable. Excited to have a blank slate to work from again! Thank you!

My parents’ lawn had gone from sleepy to surrendering, with winterkill patches making the whole place look sad and forlorn. LawnSavers stood out because they do more than just keep grass short; they build recovery plans around lawn repair, overseeding, aeration, fertilization, weed control, and soil health, too.

They liked how the company felt like plant-health people first, and mowing-advice people second. They even coach clients on proper mowing frequency and maintenance, so it’s not just a quick cut but a way to get the lawn looking manicured for longer.

My parents heard about them from neighbours who’ve been loyal customers. They’ve been serving Toronto homeowners for over 17 years, and list a risk-free guarantee, which is reassuring, as my folks’ lawn is already one bad season from giving up.

They suit older homeowners or adults trying to rescue a tired family yard rather than just a cursory tidying up. I’d recommend them if your lawn has winter damage, weeds, thin spots, or pest issues.

The catch is that LawnSavers is more of a full lawn care and repair specialist, not a simple mow-only company. They might offer more services than what you need if you’re only after a basic trim.

Pros

  • Strong lawn-repair focus
  • Plant-health approach
  • Risk-free guarantee
  • Wide GTA coverage

Cons

  • More program-based than casual mowing service
  • Packaged services, not basic one-offs

Our lawn has been transformed from dead and brown to green and lush

We have been using Lawnsavers for years now, and our lawn has been transformed from dead and brown to green and lush. Mojun arrived today to winter fertilize while I was trying to get the leaves that had fallen off the lawn. He offered to come back later to accommodate what I was doing. In the end, we worked together so he could complete his work, but it was very good of him to offer. He is always incredibly polite and helpful.

Their customer service excels

This has been my 4th summer with Lawnsavers, and I am very pleased. From day 1, they said we were a team together, and it would take some time to get a great-looking lawn. Year 1 there was improvement, but it was year 2 is when the lawn started looking its best. Watering and correct mowing are also essential. The grass cutting service I use also complimented how good the lawn looks, and the products used were very good. I like dealing with owner operated company because their customer service excels.

My next-door neighbour hurt his leg, which explains why his lawns and shrubs started looking like they were staging a hostile takeover. He called Mr. Mow It All to help handle weekly property care and hedge and shrub pruning, so he could sort both problems in one go.

Beyond mowing lawns, they also offer professional gardening, fertilization and weed control, sodding and landscape enhancement, and even snow removal. That meant my neighbour’s mostly bedridden state has some all-season support for his yard.

Their service dates back to 2006, plus they are fully insured and back their work with a no-risk guarantee. He also liked that they serve both residential and commercial properties across the GTA, giving them a more established, all-seasons feel.

My neighbour now recommends them to others who need regular mowing, plus help with shrubs, gardens, and other outdoor jobs without juggling different contractors.

The downside is that he couldn’t verify their use of electric or low-emission equipment, so it might not be the first pick among eco-conscious businesses or homeowners when it comes to lawn maintenance.

Pros

  • Handy for mixed yard jobs
  • Year-round property care
  • Long-running and insured
  • Also works for bigger property types

Cons

  • Doesn’t clearly advertise eco-friendly equipment/methods
  • Pricing has to be personally verified

They did an amazing job!

We hired them to remove the weeds around our house, shape the boxwoods, cut the grass and clean our backyard, and they did an amazing job! Great customer service! Highly recommended.

They have been attentive to the details

The Mow It All team has been working efficiently with both snow removal and fall leaf cleanup over the past month, and they have been attentive to the details. We appreciate their work and recommend their service.

5. Imperial Landscaping

My college pal wanted custom garden care (she has pretty crafty ideas) without signing away her weekends or wallet. She doesn’t want a generic cutesy garden, but refuses to splurge on ostentatious services, either.

Imperial Landscaping caught her eye right away with their offer of a free estimate and weekly lawn mowing, trimming, cleanup, garden weeding, pruning, hedging, edging, cultivating, and debris bagging in their service plans.

She liked how the service feels built for people who want more than a speedy mow, with lawn and garden care starting from $180 per month, while basic lawn mowing starts at $150 per month. She said it’s easier to judge whether the extra garden help is, that way.

She recommends them to homeowners who want a tidier lawn, but who also need proper hands-on garden care around it. They make sense for someone like my friend who wants pruning, weeding, and upkeep bundled together instead of hiring one crew for the grass, and another for her oddly-shaped topiaries.

That said, their pricing is also plan-based (and needs personal quotes for customized gardens) rather than per-visit. This may feel less flexible to those who only want an occasional lawn mowing or garden trimming.

Pros

  • Free estimate for custom garden work
  • Clear monthly package pricing
  • Proper garden detailing included
  • Operating in Toronto since 2003

Cons

  • The monthly plan structure may be too rigid for one-off service needs
  • Spring/fall cleanup is optional, not standard
