The best landscape maintenance companies in Toronto maintain curb appeal year-round!

best-landscape-toronto-banner
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Keeping a garden or lawn in shape in Toronto takes more than just a good sprinkler and the occasional mow. Seasonal changes hit hard, and neglect shows up fast, both in looks and property value.

You can’t always DIY care either. I learned that the costly way when my dethatching attempt left my yard worse than before.

Landscaping outfits can spare you that headache, especially those with maintenance solutions. We suggest checking the seasoned teams below for a start. They’re well-rooted in consistency, no matter the season or property type.

How much does landscape maintenance cost in Ontario?

In Ontario, landscape maintenance typically costs $50–$100 per hour of basic maintenance, such as trimming and cutting, with standard lawn care often totalling $1,200–$1,800 (around 20–25 sessions).

Full-service care, meanwhile, which generally involves mowing, weed control, and fertilization, hovers between $1,800 and $2,500.

Property size, location, service frequency, and project complexity are the main factors that shape the prices.

How We Chose

Experience: This review is exclusive to companies with at least two years of experience. To verify, we scoured profiles, histories, past projects, and registries.
Credentials: Our team checked for training, formal education, relevant memberships, and awards to score this criterion. Firms led by qualified landscape architects ranked higher.
Attention to Detail: We used consults, interviews, feedback, case studies, and portfolios in grading the meticulousness of every candidate. Those who often discuss things such as requirements, placement, overall layout, and plant placement in detail were favoured.
Communication: Responsiveness, clarity, proactivity, and professionalism during enquiries, consults, and jobs helped us quantify communication skills.
Pricing: Finally, we evaluated pricing considering price transparency, fairness, and overall quality. Detailed quotes, feedback, and Toronto’s usual pricing also influenced the grades.

Longevity is a big reason I chose Kenneth Morgan to maintain my yard. While Kenneth himself has been working in the pools and landscaping industry since 1994, the company was established later — still bringing decades of hands-on industry experience to every project.

It’s also one of the most decorated companies in the area, if not the most awarded. From 2021–2025, organizations such as Landscape Ontario and Top Choice Awards have presented it with over 23 trophies.

Client feedback consistently reflects that reputation. Services — including lawn maintenance — are frequently praised for enhancing outdoor spaces and helping maintain their long-term quality.

Project management is another strong point, thanks in part to the hands-on leadership of Fortunato. In my case, he kept updates and timelines on track, completed the work the same day, and ensured the site was thoroughly cleaned afterward.

One drawback is the lack of weekday hours, as some competitors operate daily or extend service through Saturday.

The company is also in high demand, with many clients reaching out for comprehensive solutions such as pool installations in addition to landscape maintenance.

Pros

  • Open since 1994
  • All-in-one services
  • Quick turnaround
  • Extensive and diverse portfolio

Cons

  • Weekend availability by appointment only
  • High demand

Worked Cleanly and Respectfully

We had an amazing experience working with the team on our front landscaping design and gardening. From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and incredibly easy to work with. Fortunato, Ken, Shannon and John delivered nothing but the highest standards throughout the project.

They were quick to respond to any concerns, open to feedback, and made adjustments seamlessly when needed. They also gave great advice in helping us choose the right stones and plants, making the whole decision-making process much easier.

The crew worked cleanly and respectfully—not only did they leave our property spotless, but they even cleaned the street afterwards for our neighbours! The lighting they installed to highlight the plants looks stunning and really brings everything together at night.

We couldn’t be happier with the final result and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality landscaping work.

It’s a plus 10 from me!

My husband and I wanted to turn our backyard into a place to entertain and enjoy family time with our kids, so we reached out to Kenneth Morgan to bring our vision to life. Fortunato was our first point of contact, and he has been fantastic from the very first visit and consultation.

He consistently answered my calls, was always willing to help, and made it easy for me to understand how the project was progressing. I truly have nothing but great things to say about his level of customer service. It’s a plus 10 from me!

Thank you, Fortunato, for being such a hands-on and dedicated project manager.

2. Gardenzilla

Operating Hours:

  • Sat to Sun – 9 am to 5 pm

Gardenzilla is one well-rounded lawn care provider. Their range includes mowing, weed/pest control, snow removal, spring cleanup, fertilizer programs, and many more.

What’s cool is that clients get to call the shots. Visits can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, and the services can be combined.

The standardized pricing isn’t mad for Toronto standards either. Booking one of their horticulturists will normally set you back $80 an hour.

If I could change one thing, it would be their response speed. Comms have lagged before, and some folks were left without replies or callbacks.

Certain luxe elements, such as heating systems and putting greens, are also outside of their scope. Other firms can install such features.

On the bright side, Gardenzilla’s isn’t short on trophies. They’ve bagged a couple of HomeStars and Consumers’ Choice Awards between 2021 and 2025!

And they’re certainly not green in maintenance, having opened back in 2014.

Pros

  • Wide range of maintenance solutions
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Operating since 2014
  • Reasonable pricing

Cons

  • Occasional late replies
  • Doesn’t install posh features like putting

Incredibly Responsive

We’re so pleased with the work that Gardenzilla did for us. We’d just completed a full home renovation and basic hardscaping and sod installation of our backyard. The final element of planting the garden needed to be completed and felt overwhelming to do ourselves, so I reached out to Gardenzilla to get the job done. Mike was incredibly responsive and quickly provided a plan for a beautiful, low-maintenance perennial garden, with thoughtful consideration for our soil quality, varying light exposure, and my desire for some cut flower options. Having got a quote from another gardening team I found Gardenzilla’s to be fairly priced (under our budget) while checking all of our boxes. The installations team, Gab, Ussman and Chloe, did an amazing job preparing the garden beds, laying out the plants, planting over 30 shrubs/trees, re-installing the irrigation, and leaving the space neat and tidy at the end. Not to mention this was all done in a day! Overall we’re impressed and would happily recommend them.

Kind and Caring

I have used Gardenzilla for many years for both garden care and snow removal. Not only have I found the work that is done is of a high quality but their employees are people that are great to have around. Not always the case. I have had some personally challenging moments over the past few years and have had to request changes to certain work routines. The people at Gardenzilla have been kind and caring in adjusting work situations. I have recommended Gardenzilla to my friends and neighbours alike.

3. LawnSavers Plant Health Care

Contact Details: +1 905-707-9994

Operating Hours: Daily – 24 hours

Founded in 1989, LawnSavers is as reliable and time-tested as they come. A client base as large as theirs wouldn’t happen if the service is just okay, you know.

One standout is the company’s service breadth. They handle lawn repair, maintenance, aeration, overseeding, and pest control.

Better yet, everything is done safely, thanks to a licensed team of plant health specialists who use organic products and employ IPM guidelines. Your kids and pets are in good hands.

Where they’re a tad limited is in the installation/upkeep of add-ons. Though LawnSavers puts up Christmas lights, stuff like patio construction or pool maintenance aren’t available.

Access to their services comes through a subscription as well, and the fees can stack up.

To be fair, we’re talking about a Toronto Star Readers’ Choice Diamond Awardee and a Consumer Choice Award Winner for 12 years straight!

Pros

  • Operating since 1989
  • Comprehensive lawn care solutions
  • Safe and eco-friendly methods/products
  • $25 credit for every referral

Cons

  • Doesn’t install/maintain structural add-ons
  • Subscription-based model

Helpful

We have been using Lawnsavers for years now and our lawn has been transformed from dead and brown to green and lush. Mojun arrived today to winter fertilize while I was trying to get the leaves that had fallen off the lawn. He offered to come back later to accommodate what I was doing. In the end we worked together so he could complete his work but it was very good of him to offer. He is always incredibly polite and helpful.

– Richard McLaughlin, Google Review

Polite and Respectful

We are very happy with the service provided by LawnSavers . Our Technician David is very knowledgeable, polite and respectful and will take the time to answer any questions or concerns we had with our lawn. I have definitely recommended LawnSavers to my neighbours and we have received plenty of compliments with regards to our lawn.

Cloverhill Gardening is capable of managing a full-scale project. That’s good news for property owners who’d rather not hire different teams for design, maintenance, carpentry, planting, and visual upgrades.

Their upkeep solutions are particularly well-regarded, chiefly grass cutting, weed prevention, and snow removal (which these companies focus on). We even met patrons who relied on such services for over 5 years, which speaks to the consistency.

Beyond that, Cloverhill does things other entries don’t. Installing courts and artificial turf are the best examples.

Like our first entry, however, they close shop on weekends. People running on a tight schedule might see that as a deal-breaker.

Offering bundled services at lower prices would be a nice addition too. A few companies, for instance, have discounted packages with 10 or more inclusions.

Now, we’re not implying that Cloverhill breaks the bank. Given their outcomes and 1997 opening, we’d say the rates are justified.

Pros

  • Comprehensive services
  • Operating since 1997
  • Niche offerings like sports court installation
  • Reasonable pricing

Cons

  • Weekend closure
  • No bundles

Reasonable Price

This was our first year using Cloverhill snow removal services. We were very impressed with the job they did at a very reasonable price. One thing that we really liked is when it snowed, they sent an email saying when they would be there which relieves one from wondering if they are coming.

We will definitely use them next year for snow removal.

If you’re looking to save some coin, Corepro Landscaping is a safe bet. Nearly every client describes their pricing as “reasonable,” and we’re on the same page; rates kick off at only $30 here.

The friendly and on-the-dot staff sweeten things further. Our interviewees brought up guys like Yogi and Satnam, raving about their sharp eye for details, punctuality, efficiency, transparency in comms, and spot-on cleanup.

In terms of specialty, fertilization and core aeration are the biggest (and cheapest) draws, followed by driveway sealing. The latter starts at $99.

Corepro also paints and runs a round-the-clock helpline, which isn’t common with other crews.

Unfortunately, that’s about it. It’s a good idea to look elsewhere for things like landscape design, hardscaping, carpentry, seasonal clearing, and tree/shrub services.

Another weak point is tenure. Opening in 2024, Corepro is our most recent entrant.

Pros

  • Reasonable pricing
  • Specializes in aeration and fertilization
  • Reachable 24/7
  • Timely service

Cons

  • Limited service range
  • Newest company on this list (2024-founded)

Totally Satisfied

Great job, fair price and friendly. Had me come outside to make sure I was totally satisfied after the work was done.

– Rick McCagg, Google Review

Efficient

Rohit Chauhan did an amazing job aerating my lawn today. He was very polite, friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
