The paediatrician clinic that keeps my niece healthy and active is Kidcrew Medical. It was founded in 2016 by the renowned Dr. Dina Kulik, who ranks on WXN’s Top 100 list as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women.
We chose this clinic for its impressive range of services. Beyond the usual paediatric care, they offer specialised programs like Kids Outsmarting Obesity—a custom nutrition and fitness program that has made a world of difference.
They also provide occupational therapy for kids with developmental delays and physical disabilities. Furthermore, their virtual visits were a lifesaver during the COVID lockdowns, ensuring my niece continued to receive the care she needed.
If I have to point out a downside, it’s their no walk-ins policy. You need to book an appointment at least an hour in advance, which can be a bit inconvenient.

One particular department of theirs I’d like to shine a spotlight on is dermatology, led by Dr. Cathryn Sibbald. A paediatric dermatologist with six years of experience, she can help kids who are diagnosed with skin diseases like psoriasis and hemangioma.
Equally commendable is their adolescent medicine department. Here, young teens can find the support they need to navigate puberty-related issues like mood swings and menstrual disorders.
They also offer the convenience of an in-house pharmacy, making it easy to get your kid’s medication after a consultation.
However, the popularity of their services can lead to long wait times on most days.

“What a lovely and modern clinic! Definitely exceeded our expectations and the new technology is so unexpected for a doctors office. The check in screen at the entrance is funny because it even tells you if you are late haha (parking was a little difficult to find in the area). They have 18 rooms for patients which means they can see a lot of babies at one time! As for our paediatrician, our initial visit with dr. Jamal was wonderful. What makes these services budget-friendly is their Annual Fee Program. It’s designed for families without OHIP coverage and covers most general services for only $250 a year for an entire family.
Another reason to consider Clairhurst is their team of highly experienced paediatricians. A standout is Dr. Michael Peer, who has over 30 years of experience in paediatrics.
Just keep in mind that they can only see new patients from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. The rest of the day is reserved for registered patients with prior bookings.

They even have a paediatric rheumatology department that can provide critical support for children dealing with chronic arthritis and scleroma. Additionally, they have a team of psychologists skilled in conducting gifted assessments and psychoeducational evaluations.
Thankfully, it’s easy to access their services, as they have two locations in Toronto. They also offer urgent care services every day, including holidays, ensuring that medical support is always available.
However, some patients have reported issues with receiving timely responses to enquiries. If you don’t get a reply on your first attempt, it’s a good idea to send a follow-up email.

Beyond urgent care, they offer routine check-ups, vaccinations, and care for chronic conditions like asthma and diabetes. They even have a specialised jaundice clinic for newborns and a paediatric travel clinic to ensure your little ones are safe during international trips.
It’s also worth mentioning that they boast a team of highly skilled paediatricians, each bringing their own expertise to the table. Many of them have their own sub-specialties, like Dr. Annam Bhatti, who specialises in paediatric immunology.
However, due to their excellent reputation, PUC sees a high volume of patients daily. So brace yourself for potentially long wait times.
