How We Reviewed

Technical Expertise: We made sure each team has the right certifications and training, so you know they really understand local building codes. Inspectors need real, verifiable credentials to spot hidden problems accurately.
Reporting Speed: Since real estate moves fast, we looked for firms that can deliver their written reports quickly. Fast turnaround means buyers can meet their deadlines and avoid extra stress.
Advanced Equipment: We checked if companies use modern tech like infrared cameras during their inspections. These tools help inspectors find things like moisture and insulation issues that you can’t see with just your eyes.
Local Experience: We gave preference to companies with lots of experience in local neighborhoods. Inspectors who work with older homes know exactly what common problems to look for, especially in historical properties.

HouseMaster Home Inspections Serving Toronto stands out by offering a written repair reimbursement guarantee of up to $1,500 per item. This also comes with a free thermal imaging for every job.

Plus, their team gets recertified every year and focuses only on inspections. They don’t sell any repair services, so you get a totally unbiased opinion.

We were able to join them during a walkthrough at their client’s classic Edwardian house, and we can say that their skill at finding hidden problems was impressive.

Just keep in mind that their free thermal scanning usually targets specific areas, like flat roofs, not the whole house. Also, their financial guarantee has strict limits. It only lasts ninety days after closing and won’t cover big structural failures completely.

    Pros

    • Written reimbursement guarantee up to $1,500
    • Clear, unbiased assessments
    • Complimentary thermal imaging for flat roofs
    • Specialized training for local century homes

    Cons

The report that was provided was also very professional and detailed

I recently hired Michael and Clark for a home inspection. It was a last-minute request, which they accepted and were able to schedule it right away for the following day. Clark did the inspection thoroughly and explained everything to us each step of the way. He was meticulous and detailed and very pleasant and patient throughout the entire inspection process. Very clear communication and willing to answer any questions we had. The report that was provided was also very professional and detailed with pictures and explanations. Highly recommend.

We felt informed and confident moving forward

Excellent home inspection experience with Michael. He was very thorough and detailed, professional, and clear in explaining his findings. The report was easy to understand with helpful photos. As first-time buyers, we felt informed and confident moving forward. Could not recommend this company more, especially for something this important. Thank you House Master!

    2. Solex Group Professional Home Inspection

    Website:http://www.solexgroup.ca/

    Address: 5863 Leslie St., #820

    Contact: 416-850-1002 | [email protected]

    Hours: Available 24/7

Solex Group Professional Home Inspection has Certified Master Inspectors (CMI), full-house thermal imaging, and free lifetime consultations.

But even with all those perks, what we love most is that they offer extra value by providing appliance recall protection. This helps homeowners stay updated on safety issues over time.

They’ve been serving the local area since 1995, so you can be assured that they know what they’re doing.

The main downside is their standard 24-hour timeline for sending out detailed PDF reports. While this is pretty quick, it might feel a bit slow if you need answers right away for a tight offer deadline in a busy market.

Also, they only operate in the GTA, so they can’t help if you’re looking at properties outside the city.

    Pros

    • Certified Master Inspector credentials
    • Full-house infrared thermal scans included
    • Lifetime phone and email advice
    • Ongoing appliance safety recall tracking

    Cons

    • Twenty-four-hour report delivery may be slow for urgent deadlines
    • Service area limited to the GTA only

We will 100% be going with Solex Group again for our next house inspection

Great service, super friendly, helpful and lots of really useful tips about home ownership and maintenance. Caught several things we didn’t notice ourselves, and really glad we got the thermal imaging to see areas of poor insulation as well as areas we could improve ourselves to better insulate our home. Really surpassed our expectations, and definitely would recommend. We will 100% be going with Solex Group again for our next house inspection/purchase.

Very reasonable pricing, would use again

Vahn was punctual, easy to approach, and explained maintenance and general home concepts in a clear, understandable manner. I left the inspection with a solid understanding of the items that needed immediate attention after purchasing the home, as well as the areas to routinely monitor and maintain over the long term. Very reasonable pricing, would use again.

Aside from that, they’re known in the community for their huge scheduling availability that helps you stay on track when you need to move fast.

Keep in mind, though, that they only do inspections and don’t offer any repair or fix-up work. If they find serious problems, you might need to hire renovation contractors to handle repairs before closing your purchase.

Also, advanced options like indoor air quality tests are charged separately and not included in the basic inspection fee.

    Pros

    • Flexible evening and weekend scheduling
    • Strong neighborhood-specific structural expertise

    I highly recommend his services

Tom did an excellent job with my home inspection. He is very knowledgeable, and it’s obvious that he genuinely enjoys what he does. His attention to detail and willingness to educate me gave me a lot of confidence. I highly recommend his services.

    Definitely 5- star service

Tom is so professional! He uses plain language to explain what he was doing to us while doing the inspection, and gave me a lot of tips of how to maintain my property well. When you’re caught in a bidding war, you need fast and flexible solutions. Superior Home Inspectors is great for this because they have budget-friendly pre-offer walkthroughs, updatable reports, and certified WETT fireplace checks.

Our colleague recently called their engineering team about a classic brick fireplace. He highlighted that their advice over the phone was super detailed and helpful.

Sadly, however, their pre-offer walkthrough is just a quick visual check. It doesn’t include a full written report, which could be a problem if your mortgage lender wants detailed paperwork.

Also, since their small team covers all of Southern Ontario, getting an appointment on short notice during busy times can be challenging.

    Pros

    • Budget-friendly walkthroughs for bidding wars
    • Certified WETT inspectors for fireplaces
    • Advanced thermal imaging for moisture detection
    • Updatable reports for sellers

    Cons

    • Walkthroughs don’t include written reports
    • Limited short-notice bookings due to wide coverage

The inspection and report were very thorough

We hired Superior Home Inspectors to take a look at a very old home we were thinking of purchasing and couldn’t be more pleased with the professionalism and thoroughness. Although we contracted the services during the busiest time, spring, Robert and his team took care of us quickly and helped with our overall decision making. The inspection and report were very thorough, and we would 100% recommend and use Superior Home Inspection for any of our future purchases. Thanks again Robert!

Would recommend Superior Home Inspectors to any of our friends and family

Robert conducted an inspection for a home purchase recently.  His  professionalism, attention to detail, commitment and care while performing the inspection is invaluable to us.  We feel safer and more secure with our home purchase due to his efforts and would recommend Superior Home Inspectors to any of our friends and family’s homes.  We can’t thank him enough.

We’d be happy to recommend them to others

Blair from amerispec did a home inspection for my senior dad in scarborough last week and was wondeful to work with. he communicated well, fit us in in a short time frame, arrived on time and completed the inspection and report with great turnaround time. he was thorough and patient, thoughtful and kind throughout the process and give us tips and advice that went above and beyond the scope of the inspection. his professionalism and experience was so appreciated and we’d be happy to recommend to others.

It was well worth the small cost for his inspection

Blair was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and thorough in inspecting all interior and exterior parts of my newly constructed home.  It was well worth the small cost for his inspection.  He not only patiently educated me and reviewed how everything functioned, but he found some significant deficiencies that I would have missed, if I had not invested in his services.   I highly recommend Blair to inspect your home and for peace of mind.  Thanks Blair!
