If you’ve ever tried to bathe a cat or trim its nails, you know it isn’t easy. Most cats don’t enjoy grooming and will do their best to get out of it.

That’s why choosing the right groomer is important. A calm and experienced professional can make things much less stressful for you and your cat.

To help you choose, I checked out some of the best cat grooming services in Toronto. These places focus on gentle handling, cat-friendly care, and making sure your cat looks and feels great. Read on to see my top picks.

How I Reviewed

Feline Experience: I looked at how much experience each groomer has working with cats. This helps make sure they know how to handle nervous, shy, or easily stressed cats in a calm and safe way.
Safety and Cleanliness: I checked how clean each salon is and what safety steps they follow. Places that keep their spaces tidy and check pet health records scored higher on my list.
Range of Services: I looked at the grooming services each business offers. The best salons offer more than just a basic haircut and can address diverse grooming needs.
Calm Environment: I paid attention to the overall setup and atmosphere of each salon. I preferred places that keep cats away from loud noises and other distractions to help them stay relaxed.

1. Pet Spa Toronto

pet-spa-toronto

Pet Spa Toronto is a great option for cat owners seeking a calm, gentle grooming experience.

Their team focuses on soft-touch treatments, soothing baths, and careful handling, which can make a big difference for cats that get nervous around grooming tools.

I like that they offer dedicated feline grooming packages and separate pricing tiers for cats under and over seven pounds, making their services feel more tailored to each pet. You can book everything from a simple coat refresh to a detailed shave.

Another nice touch is that full grooming sessions include plaque spray as part of the care package.

That said, there are a couple of requirements to keep in mind. Cats must have up-to-date vaccination and rabies records before their appointment.

Also, highly anxious or aggressive pets need to be sedated before visiting, which adds an extra step for some owners.

Pros

  • Cat-focused grooming packages
  • Weight-based pricing
  • Gentle bathing and grooming
  • Plaque spray included

Cons

  • Vaccination records required
  • Sedation needed for aggressive cats

Calm and Caring First Cat Grooming Experience

First experience bringing my cat to get groomed. She normally hates leaving the house or anything to do with loud noises or baths. Here feels like dropping her off at a family members house. I came back to her allowing a staff to blow dry her while cuddling her and she was very calm. I wouldn’t want to take her anywhere else after coming here. The staff knows what they are doing and holds so much passion for cats and dogs while in conversation. Thank you for treating Lucy like your own, we will be back!

Professional Care for a First-Time Cat Groom

I’ve never had my cat groomed before and was worried she’d cause trouble but Dan handled everything with perfect care and speed! A great conversationalist, understanding and very professional. If you’re considering getting your pets groomed here, I couldn’t recommend him enough:)

2. Pawfect Spa Ltd | Toronto Dog Grooming

pawfect-spa-ltd-toronto-dog-grooming

Pawfect Spa Ltd provides a calm, high-quality grooming experience that stands out from the usual busy salon.

On top of that, individually sized spa rooms help reduce stress and create a more relaxing experience for cats.

Elsie Tang, an IPG Certified Master Groomer with over 20 years of experience, leads the business. This helps pet owners feel confident leaving their pets in her care.

While the team also includes skilled dog groomers in Toronto, their cat grooming services are especially specialized.

Another thing I like is that one stylist works with your cat from start to finish, giving them dedicated one-on-one attention. They use careful hand-scissoring techniques instead of rushing through quick shaves.

However, tranquilizers are not allowed here, which may not suit you if that’s what you prefer for your pet.

It’s also worth noting that because appointments fill up quickly, last-minute bookings can be difficult to secure.

Pros

  • Individual spa rooms
  • One-on-one grooming attention
  • Certified Master Groomer leadership
  • Precise hand-scissoring techniques

Cons

  • No sedation or tranquilizers
  • Appointment-only scheduling

Worth the Drive for Quality Cat Grooming

I’m so impressed with the quality and care for my cat.  It was definitely worth the hour drive to go here.  Linus doesn’t let me groom him and given his coat, he requires regular grooming.  I’m so happy with how his treatments turned out. Plus he smells amazing :)Will be booking my other cat in very soon!  Thanks again !

Beautiful Grooming for a Long-Haired Rescue Cat

my kitty has long hair being a Persian mix and had some bad matting under her legs. since she’s a rescue, she’s a bit fussy to deal with at home. i found pawfect and wanted to take her to a reputable place with years of experience to make sure her firm groom was seamless. elsie and her team gave her the exact haircut i wanted, even with not the best reference pics i provided! my girl looks better than I could’ve asked for 🙂

3. Juju Grooms

juju-grooms

Juju Grooms is known for using positive reinforcement, which really helps cats that are nervous, reactive, or sensitive.

The team never forces pets through grooming. They use gentle handling so cats can get used to the process at their own pace.

Also, I appreciate the different style options, like standard clips and teddy bear trims, which are great for cats that can’t handle a full shave. They also offer special upgrades, such as CO2 baths and vinyl nail caps.

Plus, every visit comes with basic hygienic care to keep your cat clean and comfortable.

On the downside, the grooming packages depend on how much your cat can handle, so not every cat can get every style. They might also turn down services that could harm your pet, such as excessive de-matting.

Pros

  • Low-impact rehabilitative handling
  • Multiple haircut style options
  • CO2 therapeutic bath upgrades
  • Baseline hygienic care

Cons

  • Services depend on pet tolerance
  • Refusal of excessive de-matting requests

Kind and Welcoming Cat Grooming Experience

Juju did a fantastic groom on our 1 year old cat Eevee that was in desperate need of a bath and good brushing. I was very nervous during drop off because I didn’t know how my cat would behave, but thankfully she was cooperative and I’m very happy with the outcome. The staff and kind and welcoming and were able to accommodate us right away. I will definitely be booking in the future. I would highly recommend Juju grooms to any pet owner that needs their fur babies groomed

Exceptional Care for Long-Haired Cats

Juju has been grooming my two cats for almost two years now. I have a Siberian cat with an extremely thick coat, and the team always does an incredible job combing it out and making it more manageable. My other cats is also long haired, but a lot more skittish, and he still does so well in Juju’s care.  I’ve taken my cats to other groomers too, and none of them have ever offered anywhere close to the quality or genuine care that Juju does!! Do not hesitate.

4. FUR BAR

fur-bar

If you’re looking for more grooming choices for your cat, FUR BAR is a great spot to check out. They offer a range of styles, from short body clips to fluffy comb cuts that keep your cat’s coat longer.

They also let you walk in for services, which makes it easier to keep up with your cat’s regular grooming.

Even though FUR BAR isn’t set up like most dog daycares in Toronto, the space is still welcoming and comfortable for pet owners.

Best of all, you can stop by for ear cleanings, nail trims, and sanitary shaves without making a formal appointment.

Keep in mind that walk-in services depend on whether a cat specialist is available. Some extra services may also depend on how comfortable your cat feels.

Pros

  • Short and long coat styling
  • Walk-in grooming services
  • Ear cleaning and nail trims
  • Flexible feline care options

Cons

  • Specialist-dependent walk-ins
  • Behavior-based add-on limits

Clean Lion Cut for a Matted Winter Coat

My cat has a pretty intense winter coat that gets matted if you so much as look at it funny. Fortunately, the kind people at Fur Bar were able to get him a clean lion’s cut within a few hours and I can tell my cat feels sooo much better. (Smells better too! 😻)

Patient Grooming for a Spicy Cat

Brought our cat in for his first groom (since we adopted him) and were unsure of how he would do….he’s pretty spicy when we try to do any sort of maintenance at home but Wendy worked some magic and he was so chill the whole time!! She went above and beyond by showing me some tips for upkeep. Prices are very fair and being right beside Wallace espresso is another perk 🙂

5. PAWMART – Pet Store, Pet Grooming, Pet Boutique in Toronto

pawmart-pet-store-pet-grooming-pet-boutique-in-toronto

PAWMART offers something a little different by combining professional grooming with a pet boutique.

While your cat is being cared for, you can browse premium apparel, raw food options, and interactive toys around the store.

Their signature bath-and-brush service is designed to clean, detangle, and soften thicker coats. Plus, every treatment uses high-quality products and a gentle approach to help cats stay comfortable.

They also offer a separate claw service for quick nail trims, which is useful if you only need basic maintenance rather than a full grooming session.

The main drawback is that the cat grooming menu is much smaller than what they offer for dogs. Dogs can get custom haircuts and spa packages, but cats are mostly limited to baths, brushing, and nail trims.

Pros

  • Grooming and boutique under one roof
  • Standalone nail trim service
  • Bath and brush package
  • Premium grooming products

Cons

  • Limited cat grooming menu

Wonderful Pet Store and Grooming Experience

Amazing store, love working with them! The experience with the qualified staff and owner Amir is just marvelous. I wish I’d live in Toronto just to shop and groom my pet at this store. I highly recommend for any pet owner to at least stop once!

Beautiful One-Stop Shop with Unique Finds

Gorgeous store with a selection you really can’t find anywhere else. They also offer grooming – a full one stop shop. Amir and the other gentleman with long hair make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. Even the store decor is stunning. Can’t wait to make this my primary shop!
