How We Reviewed

Culinary Execution: We closely looked at the technical skills and ingredient quality driving each kitchen. Every dish needs to show a high level of balance and creativity to justify the premium price tag.
Atmosphere and Vibe: Fine dining relies heavily on the physical environment and overall comfort of the room. We evaluated how well the interior design and lighting complement a special evening out.
Service and Hospitality: The front-of-house staff must be highly attentive without making the experience feel stiff or uncomfortable. A great team knows how to guide you through a meal with warmth and expertise.
Menu Innovation: We paid attention to how distinct and memorable the food options are compared to standard menus. Exceptional spots offer unique culinary perspectives that leave a lasting impression.

Hours: Lunch Monday-Friday 11:30 AM-2:00 PM; Happy Hour Monday-Sunday 2:30-5:30 PM; Dinner Monday-Sunday 3:00 PM-12:00 AM; Brunch Saturday-Sunday 10:30 AM-2:00 PM

Walking into the stunning space of Black+Blue instantly sets the tone for an extraordinary meal, especially with their remarkable tableside preparations that turn dinner into a live performance.

During our visit, the staff wheeled out carts to mix up fresh Caesar salads and carve premium meats right next to our table.

The meat selection is impressive, featuring high-grade Japanese beef aged in a dedicated room lined with blocks of natural Himalayan salt.

The team even meticulously prepared classic dishes right at our table, making the evening feel personalized.

And while they’re an amazing spot for corporate celebrations or big milestones, you should know that some of their rarest cuts can sell out early in the evening. But if you want a visual feast alongside your steak, this place delivers a memorable show.

Pros

  • Premium Japanese and Canadian beef selections
  • Interactive tableside preparation carts
  • Unique Himalayan salt dry-aging room
  • Extensive raw bar and sushi options

Cons

  • Limited availability for rare beef cuts

Hospitality was top-notch

Just go. Do it. So good! Hospitality was top notch. Tyler was a great host and took very good care of us. David the sommelier was also so impressive and picked out the checkmate win for us, so delicious. I am now in a food coma thanks to these lovely gentlemen and cooks. I had a great fine dining experience, and would come here again if I knew how to grow money on trees. 😅

A masterclass in elegant fine dining

An absolute masterclass in fine dining. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance of elegance and intimacy, making it an incredible setting for a special night out. The service was flawless—highly professional, intuitive, and polished without being overbearing. As for the food, the Wagyu striploin was a revelation; it was cooked to perfection with a melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavor that justifies every bit of its reputation. If you’re looking for a high-end experience where every detail is accounted for, this is the place to be.

2. Ten Restaurant

Address: 1132 College Street

Contact: 416-538-3810 | [email protected]

Hours: Dinner Wednesday-Saturday 5:00 PM-10:00 PM

If you want an experience that completely flips the script on luxury dining, Ten Restaurant is a solid pick.

This intimate spot focuses entirely on showcasing exceptional produce grown across Southern Ontario. The seasonal menu shifts constantly to highlight fresh local harvests.

Here, you get to experience a completely vegetarian multi-course meal, where the chefs treat simple greens with intense technical skill.

We recommend sitting at the tiny 10-seat counter to give you a front-row view of the kitchen team working their magic up close. The atmosphere remains relaxed, even with the action.

However, because they only offer a single fixed tasting format with a mandatory service charge, dining here requires a significant financial commitment.

But for open-minded food lovers, the costs are worth it since the restaurant offer a fascinating perspective on progressive Canadian cooking.

Pros

  • Intimate ten-seat interactive chef counter
  • Fully plant-forward multi-course menu
  • Fresh seasonal Southern Ontario produce
  • Relaxed and approachable fine dining atmosphere

Cons

  • Mandatory service charge added to bills
  • Fixed tasting menu format

UNFORGETTABLE!

Genius? Yes! Chef Julian and his team are wonderful, welcoming, humble and progressive! We enjoyed the the 10 course fine dining tasting menu with wine pairings. We had a lot of fun and will never forget our shock when one of the plates came out. What looked like a simple plate of toast and butter (um yes) turned out to be a tastebud thriller and we could not stop laughing and enjoying the delicious homemade bread and carrot butter… UNFORGETTABLE! Wish I could give six stars.

Service was top-notch and friendly

Should be your #1 choice if looking for vegan fine dining in Toronto. Service was top notch and friendly. Enjoyed every single one of the 10 courses that were served including well thought out wine pairing options. The seating around a chef’s table also works very well as it’s interesting to see their chefs serve up the dishes. Ambience was great too. Highly recommended.

GEORGE Restaurant is a highly acclaimed destination that stands out thanks to their multi-year Michelin Guide recognition and deeply customized blind tasting menus.

Chef Lorenzo Loseto, the head chef, curates a distinct dining experience for each guest based on personal preferences. Basically, two people at the same table receive completely different creations.

The kitchen also highlights regional seasonal items to build intricate plates that surprise your palate.

As for the atmosphere, this restaurant’s setting in a beautifully restored 1850s chocolate factory adds an elegant backdrop for a romantic date night or corporate gathering.

Cons

  • Favorite seasonal dishes change frequently

Provides consistent, high-quality, and tasty food

George is definitely my favorite fine dining in  Toronto. It provides consistent high quality and tasty food. And they always made my booking so easy! I have been going with my family who are vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. It is not easy to find a fine dining experience that’s accommodating for all. The food was excellent, service was fast and friendly, great selection of wine and drinks. Nothing to complain about.

The food was amazing

This is what fine dining is supposed to be. The food was amazing, the wine pairings excellent, the service perfect, the atmosphere was great. The evening was so well designed that we adjust forgot the were other tables in the restaurant. The best part was the “double sided tasting menu”, where not everyone at the table gets the same tasting menu. This led to sharing and even more variety. They were also able to accommodate multiple different food restrictions perfectly. One of my best ever restaurant experiences.

4. Auberge du Pommier

Website: https://www.aubergedupommier.com/

Address: 4150 Yonge St

Contact: 416-222-2220

Hours: Lunch Monday-Friday 11:45 AM-2 PM; Dinner Monday-Wednesday 5:30-9 PM; Thursday-Friday 5:30-9:30 PM; Saturday 5:00-9:30 PM

Tucked away from the frantic pace of the city, Auberge du Pommier charms their customers with crackling wood-burning fireplaces in the winter and lush floral terraces during the summer.

Built around the remains of two historic 1860s woodcutters’ cottages, the venue delivers a cozy country vibe combined with modern sophistication.

A close friend of mine celebrated her anniversary here recently and told me the romantic, candlelit ambiance next to the hearth made the evening unforgettable.

As for the kitchen, they serve up refined French cuisine using contemporary North American twists and locally sourced ingredients. Chef Kane Van Ee, the executive chef, brings modern European techniques to classic dishes and delicate pastries.

Keep in mind that you can’t always get specific seating near the fireplaces or out on the patio since tables are assigned as people arrive. Any table is still a beautiful escape for anyone wanting traditional romance.

Pros

  • Historic nineteenth-century cottage setting
  • Seasonal woodfires and outdoor terraces
  • Decades of established fine dining history
  • Refined modern French culinary techniques

Cons

  • Specific room seating cannot be guaranteed

Food was great and the service was phenomenal

My wife and I went here for our anniversary. Food was great and the service was phenomenal. We opted for the tasting menu which was quite a lot of food for us. Both of us enjoyed the lobster tail the most, pasta was very rich, and the duck was cooked to perfection. They are also very good at accommodating dietary restrictions. Great place to go to if you’re looking for a fine dining restaurant to celebrate an event or milestone.

The service is amazing and consistent

Just had a dinner meeting here and it was fantastic. The service is amazing and consistent amongst the whole team at this fine dining cozy restaurant. Water constantly filled, ice refilled, chairs pulled out for you, napkins laid across you and the list can go on. Would highly recommend. AMAZING soufflé. Make sure to order it when ordering the mains. This needs time to prepare and has to be served hot out of the oven.

5. The Chase

Website: https://www.thechasetoronto.com/

Address: 10 Temperance St, Fl 5

Contact: 647-348-7000 | [email protected] | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday 11:30 AM-Closing; Saturday 5 PM-Closing

Perched high above the busy streets of the Financial District, The Chase is an elegant penthouse destination.

This restaurant offers a contemporary upscale dining experience on the 5th floor of the historic Dineen Building. They draw crowds with their spectacular raw bar and seafood-heavy menu.

The culinary team works closely with local suppliers who prioritize sustainable farming practices. This ensures that their ingredients are of top quality.

We happily indulged in their premium caviar service, fresh oysters, and delicate tuna crudo. It was a treat to take in those sweeping views of the downtown skyline!

We also appreciate that they offer group booking options and a weekday Business Lunch Menu for smaller parties.

However, there’s no valet parking available here. You’ll need to sort out your parking arrangements in advance.

Pros

  • Scenic fifth-floor penthouse location
  • Extensive premium raw bar selections
  • Strong focus on sustainable sourcing
  • Offers premium meal options

Cons

  • Lack of dedicated valet parking services

The fish is exquisite

Divided into two floors, the upper level is a fine dining area. The fish (the real reason you go here) is exquisite. The wait staff is fantastic with impeccable service. The bread is also amazing and is served with the recipe. The meats (lamb specifically) were just as good, if not better than the seafood.

Had the most amazing dining experience here

Had the most amazing dining experience here with a group of friends! We were spoiled with a six course tasting menu and I must say, even as a chef in the industry for over 20 years, this dinner was 10’s 10’s 10’s across the board!!! Thank you Cory and front and back of house teams for an unforgettable experience!! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fancy night out, or if you want to experience Toronto’s fine dining at its best, check out this hidden gem! Where is your Michelin star?!? 😉👍👍😉
