Just a couple of months ago, a dull ache gnawed at the back of my jaw. It was as if a tiny gnome had taken up residence in my mouth, chiselling away at my sanity.
Sadly, it wasn’t actually a gnome that I could charge for rent. Instead, it was one of the most dreaded things a young adult can experience: an impacted wisdom tooth.
Thank god for the dentist that I found who quickly put an end to my suffering. If you’re in the same boat, here are some reliable dentists in the city!
How much does it cost to see a dentist in Toronto? Most dentists in Toronto charge $300 for a routine dental checkup. However, this is only an estimate, as some factors can affect your price, such as the dental services you need and the clinic’s location. |

Personally, I’m a huge fan of their dental surgeon, Dr. Firas Jarrousse. A graduate of Pierre and Marie Curie University, he has over 19 years of experience and offers plenty of treatments that require serious skill to pull off, like bone grafting and mini dental implants.
Aside from their skilled staff, I also love that they offer special discounts to students and first responders. For uninsured patients, they also have in-house dental coverage that lets you enjoy free biannual cleanings and a 15% discount on their services for only $19 per month.
The only downsides to them are their poor response rate to enquiries and unpunctual staff.

Cons
- Sometimes forgets to respond to enquiries

I absolutely loved my experience here
“I absolutely loved my experience here at this location. The office manager Shabnam is extremely kind, patient and professional. I was having an issue with my insurance but she took her time to speak with them to resolve it FOR A WHOLE HOUR—that’s amazing dedication on her part. Not only that, she ensured I still received my cleaning due to the importance of it for a pregnant person. And while I was in the chair, the entire dental team made me feel comfortable and were very considerate of my pregnancy by offering me different options for further dental care. If anyone wants an amazing, stress-free and professional dental care experience, then come to this studio dental location! The clinic is also very clean and modern.”

Had an excellent experience!
“I recently visited this dental clinic and had an excellent experience! Amir, the receptionist, was exceptional. He was incredibly patient and took the time to explain everything to me in detail, which I really appreciated. Mariam, the hygienist, was my favorite—she was professional, gentle, and made me feel at ease throughout my appointment. I highly recommend this clinic for their outstanding service and friendly staff!!”

Dr. Alavi is an excellent dentist
“The clinic accommodated my requests promptly and provided great services from the booking to the end of the procedure. Dr. Alavi is an excellent dentist who took the time to explain every procedure and also provided consultation on how to maintain my oral health and prevent any potential teeth issues. I am terribly afraid of the dentist and very sensitive, but he and his team went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Alavi and this clinic. Thank you all – Claire. Dr. Alavi and his team were very accommodating and caring
“I am impressed!!
Dr. Alavi and his team were very accommodating and caring.
While they had a very tight schedule, I needed an emergency appointment, but Dr patiently checked in with me about my concerns and advised me on the best feasible solution. Honestly, I was in such a rush that I didn’t expect to receive high quality treatment (Dr. Alavi was very detail oriented and thorough).
The clinic was also very clean and convenient in the busy downtown, so I could get back to my workplace right after the procedure.”

Aside from general dentistry, they specialise in cosmetic dentistry and dental implants. That’s why they’re able to provide dental Botox for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, which is highly useful if pain relievers and physical therapy don’t cut it for you.
Interestingly, they’re also a supplier of Invisalign, a transparent device that can help straighten your teeth if you dislike using traditional orthodontic braces.
With all these amazing offerings, it sucks to learn that their staff are sometimes late to their appointments.

I have already referred my loved ones to my new favourite dental clinic.”

So kind and has his patients best interest in mind
“I’m so cautious of visiting new dentists because I’ve had bad experiences in the past, but a friend recommended Dr. Haji and I couldn’t be happier with my first appointment. He is so kind and has his patients’ best interests in mind. The admin staff were great too. Will definitely stick with this clinic.”

Working alongside her is a team of multilingual dentists who can comfortably speak other languages, like Mandarin and Korean. Together, they offer a diverse range of general and cosmetic dentistry services.
However, what really caught my attention was their use of sophisticated lasers to offer deeper teeth cleanings and less-intimidating dental drilling services. They’re also an Invisalign provider, which is awesome if you hate wearing braces.
Sadly, a lot of their services are a bit expensive and can put a serious dent in your wallet.
