I went with Solar X, and honestly, my experience was solid. They gave me a free assessment that felt straightforward and not pushy, which helped me figure out if solar made sense for my place.
I ended up going with their black-on-black panels, and they look sharp on the roof. They also offer solar shingles if you want something more discreet, though those come at a higher price.
It’s reassuring that they cover their panels with a 25-year warranty. I also liked that they have a recycling program for old panels since disposing of them properly can be tricky.

What stood out to me is their 25-year production guarantee, which means if the panels don’t deliver as promised, they cover the difference.
Another highlight is their support with grants and rebates, including programs like the Enbridge Herx Rebate. They also offer interest-free loans and free consultations to make the process easier.
However, a few people I spoke with said Solify sometimes misses appointments. Others mentioned they can be pushy with sales tactics, which is frustrating.

Solar Power Store Canada is probably the one I’d pick if we’re talking about variety. They carry a wide range of solar panels from manufacturers such as Mapleleaf, Thornova, and Longi.
What I like is how they try to make things more affordable with bundles and packages that combine panels, inverters, batteries, and racking into one piece.
They also offer custom system designs to make sure your setup fits your property, and they can help with permits so you don’t have to deal with that hassle yourself.
For anyone going the DIY route, free delivery is available on orders over $5,500, which is a nice perk.
The downside is that delivery can be hit or miss. Some customers reported panels arriving later than expected, while others said their orders showed up incomplete.
