That’s why I can sympathize every time I hear someone expressing panic when they get locked out of their car or lose their keys.

The cost of an auto locksmith in Toronto greatly depends on the service you’re booking. For example, if you’re booking them because of a car lockout, the usual price is C$35, while getting a key copy or a key replacement costs around C$65 and C$90, respectively.

Direct Locksmith Toronto is practically my bestie at this point because they’re my go-to. After all, they’re available 24/7, making them easily accessible!
Additionally, this shop has a decent lineup of services. I book them for car lockouts and car key duplications, but they also do car fob programming or replacement, car key replacement, and ignition repair. They can even replace keys for motorcycles!
Another thing I love about this shop is how fast they are. Every time I called them (either I got locked out of the car or I broke my car key), they arrived within 20 minutes!
Their service area is impressive as well. In addition to the GTA, they’ve served clients in Brampton, Halton, Durham, Newmarket, and Mississauga. Plus, their clientele is made up of both residential and commercial customers.
That said, I have heard some complaints about rude staff. Some clients got hung up on when they called. This hasn’t happened to me, but it’s worth noting.

“Forgot my pick up truck Keys oversees and needed to get home. Direct lock smith came to the rescue. From the initial phone call they are extremely courteous and professional, and very assuring on getting the job done. I spoke with Kevin the whole time, and they had great updates of the technician where abouts. The technician Matthew came and make the key on the spot for me. What I like most about Monty’s Locksmith is its array of services. They offer a lot! In addition to the typical options like key replacement, they can also do things I’ve never heard of, such as ECU cloning (copying essential data from one vehicle to another).
The shop also gives a warranty on its keys, which clients appreciate because it means peace of mind for them. They’ve also told me that the after-sales service is just top-notch. The staff makes sure that the customer is satisfied with everything.
Speaking of the staff, clients shared that the employees here are professional. One shared that she didn’t know much about the Ghost Immobilizer product that she had installed, but the team explained clearly how it worked, which she appreciated.
The prices here are reasonable, according to most clients. If you’re still unsure, you can contact them to get a free quote.
That said, keep in mind that they charge more for emergencies or during holiday hours. I don’t find this surprising, but I understand if this takes other people by surprise.

TBC Locksmith and Doors is mostly known for their residential home services, but they do offer a few auto locksmith services as well. In particular, they can save you from car lockouts or create duplicates of your car keys.
That said, I have to say that their selection of services is lacklustre, especially when compared to other shops. They don’t repair ignitions or offer car security options and ECU cloning.
Still, they do excel in what they offer. I like that they offer emergency services 24/7, and according to clients, the team is fast. One told me that they arrived within 20 minutes!
This speed can also be seen in their car key copying service. One client told me that though she wasn’t in a rush, they were able to duplicate her key in just under 20 minutes as well. The staff even provided her with two duplicates instead of just one.
Another great thing about this shop is that it serves all major cities within 60 kilometres of Toronto. This includes Brampton, Mississauga, Markham, Pickering, Vaughan, Oshawa, Ajax, Barrie, Newmarket, and Whitby.

If all you need is a duplication of your automobile key, then Acme Lock and Key Toronto is the perfect shop to be. Unfortunately, if you need any other type of auto locksmith service, then you’ll have to go to a different shop.
It’s impressive that they can duplicate keys for all sorts of vehicles. In addition to cars and trucks, they’ve copied keys for motorcycles, trailers, and RVs.
The staff here is another highlight. Clients told me that the employees here are friendly and knowledgeable and that they have great attention to detail. Not only is the cut precise, but the team also double-checked to ensure the key worked smoothly.
Oh, and they work pretty fast, too! I’m used to having my key copied in less than 30 minutes, but some clients claimed that it only took 5 minutes for the team to do that here!
In addition to the professional and quick service, the price is affordable, according to the clients I interviewed. If you want to double-check before committing to them, you can call to get an estimate.

“Absolutely recommend coming here to get car keys cut! I bought a blank Integra Type R key in Japan and needed it to get it cut. I was impressed when I checked the list of services offered at Maple Leaf Locksmith. There are so many! In the automotive section alone, you have car key replacement, module adaptation, ECU cloning, car lockouts, and more!
They also offer emergency services, which are convenient. One client told me that he got locked out twice, and in both times, the emergency team came in just a few minutes!
This shop serves both residential and commercial clients in many regions, not just the GTA. Other areas that they serve include Ajax, Bolton, Mississauga, King City, Maple, and Richmond Hill. And these aren’t all of them!

That said, I have heard some complaints about their rates. Clients reported that the quote they were given didn’t match the final price. If the difference is only a few dollars, it would’ve been okay, but that’s not the case.
One client told me that they received a C$175 quote, but the final rate was actually C$300! This is almost double! So, I take their quotes with a grain of salt.
