Woodbine Fantasy Fair is a 58,000-square-meter park located inside Woodbine Shopping Centre, making it the largest indoor amusement park in Ontario. The park has also been around since 1985, and in that time, it has seen over 8 million guests!
Currently, the park has 12 full-size rides and attractions; many of which cater to children. Because of this, the Woodbine Fantasy Fair is a popular spot among families; it’s also a great venue for birthday parties and fun educational events.
How to Get There
Bus: To get to Woodbine Fantasy Fair, ride bus services 11, 37A, 7, or 927D, and then disembark at Rexdale Blvd at Woodbine Center. It’s just a minute away from the fair.
Train: If you prefer riding the train, make sure to take the Kitchener line and alight at the Malton station. You can choose to walk to the park, but it’s 30 minutes away; a better alternative is riding a bus from the station to Rexdale Blvd.
Car: If you prefer driving, there’s a parking lot at the mall’s entrances. These parking areas have designated spots for wheelchairs and young families if you need one.

Rules and Regulations

Before you visit the Woodbine Fantasy Fair and check out all the rides here, you need to be aware of the park’s rules and regulations. These are the following:
- Parents must accompany their child on the carousel. They can stand up next to their child’s horse for free.
- If you want to do wall climbing at Rock ‘n’ Climb, you need to meet the following requirements: you must be at least 36” tall, weigh between 45 and 250 lbs, have a waist size between 22” and 45”, and be in good physical condition.
- If your child wants to play in the Dreamer’s Play Village, make sure they remove their shoes first before entering. They also need to wear socks inside.
- If you or your child has a disability and you require accessibility assistance, see customer service for help.
Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit the Woodbine Fantasy Fair is on the weekdays. This is because the ticket prices are cheaper on the weekdays, allowing you to save a bit of money.
Aside from this, there aren’t a lot of crowds on the weekdays as well. So, you don’t have to worry about long lines or moving through thick crowds when exploring the park.
What to Do
All aboard on the Fantasy Fair Express
Tired of walking around the theme park but still want to explore it? Then, you might like the Fantasy Fair Express!
As you can guess from the name, the Fantasy Fair Express is a “train” ride around the park. It runs pretty slow, but that’s what makes it perfect: you’ll be able to enjoy a scenic and relaxing journey.
Everyone is allowed to ride this train, though guests with any type of prosthesis have to ensure their device is properly secured before they can get on board.
Take a ride on the Antique Carousel

Riding the carousel is one of the most popular things to do in an amusement park, so you can’t pass up the opportunity to ride the one at the Woodbine Fantasy Fair.
The interesting thing about the Antique Carousel is that it was actually manufactured by Charles Loof, who began manufacturing carousels in 1876. He built about 40 carousels, but only 13 are still operating to this day—and the Antique Carousel is one of them.
In other words, you’re riding one of the oldest carousels ever! That’s such a cool experience—one that you can even brag to other people.
Slide and jump around in the Dreamer’s Play Village

Dreamer’s Play Village is the perfect playground for your little ones. It has three levels of space, and that includes three curving slides; they can spend the entire time sliding down and squealing in glee!
Aside from the slides, there are tunnels where they have to crawl to reach the other side and areas where they can jump around. The whole playground is really just a space for children to let loose and have fun!
Though only children are allowed to play here, their parents are allowed inside to supervise. Just like the children, adults have to take off their shoes; it’s also important that they wear socks when stepping inside the playground.
Reach new heights on the Crystal Kaleidoscope Ferris Wheel
Get on the Crystal Kaleidoscope Ferris Wheel and reach for the stars! Well, technically, you can’t reach for the stars since the Ferris wheel is inside a building, but it doesn’t hurt to pretend all the same.
This Ferris wheel stands at 50 feet, and it features several colourful gondolas that each can hold two parents and one child. If your child is over 36” tall, they can even ride a gondola on their own.
Riding this Ferris wheel is a great way to enjoy the sight of the amusement park. Once you reach the top of the wheel, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of everything, and it’s so fun to look at!
Get dizzy on Ships Ahoy

Ships Ahoy might get your head scrambled up, but it’s so worth it! Essentially, you—and preferably with another companion—will sit inside a cup, and then that cup will spin around.
The fun thing about this ride is that you can actually control how much the cup’s spinning—at least partially. You just have to turn the center wheel, and the cup can slow down or speed up in its spinning.
Once the ride is over, be careful when getting out of the cup. Since you’ve been spinning for several minutes, your balance is all wonky, which means you might tip over when you stand up all of a sudden.
Another important thing you need to remember is that riders with a height under 36” must be accompanied by a paying adult. Alternatively, if your child is over 54” tall, they can ride the cup on their own.
Take the Fantasy Flight

The Fantasy Flight is also known as the Balloon Ride simply because every basket is connected to what looks like a balloon. The way this ride works is that each basket spins in two opposing directions, which produces strong accelerations.
Just like Ships Ahoy, Fantasy Flight has a center wheel that you can use to partially control how much your basket spins. The whole ride won’t make you as dizzy as Ships Ahoy, but it will definitely catch your breath all the same.
Riders under the height of 54” must be accompanied by a paying adult. Those who exceed that height can take the Fantasy Flight ride alone.
Pretend to be a pilot while riding Airforce

Does your child dream of joining the Royal Canadian Air Force? Then, you should let them ride the Airforce ride in the park; it’s not exactly the real thing, but it’s close!
This is a circular ride that elevates the riders as the planes fly around the centre hub. It really makes the children feel like they’re flying, and you can hear the glee in their voices as they scream and squeal.
Do take note that only children between 36” and 54” are allowed on this ride.
Test your climbing skills at Rock ‘n’ Climb
If you’re craving the rush of adrenaline, rock wall climbing is one of the best ways to get it. Luckily, the Woodbine Fantasy Fair has Rock ‘n’ Climb!
This rock wall has four sides and stands at 30 feet, so you have a lot of area to climb on. Children are also allowed to climb this well, so long as their height is over 36”, so you can bring your adventurous little one for company.
The maximum weight requirement for this activity is 250 lbs. Interested people must also sign a waiver before they climb the rock wall.
Free fall at Drop and Hop

Another way you can experience the rush of adrenaline is by experiencing free fall. And that’s exactly what you’ll get when you ride Drop and Hop!
With Drop and Hop, you ride on an apparatus that will be lifted to the top of a 30-foot tower. Once you reach the top, the apparatus will then be dropped all of a sudden; this causes a free fall sensation that will make you feel weightless!
It’s such an exhilarating sensation—like there are hundreds of butterflies in your stomach! Once the ride is over, you’ll be abuzz with energy, which will take some time before it wears off.
Step into a 6D world at the XD Simulator
The XD Simulator takes watching a movie to a whole new level. Usually, we just watch movies on a screen, but with this simulator ride at the Woodbine Fantasy Fair, you’ll feel like you’re actually in the movie you’re watching!
You’ll be wearing a pair of goggles that convince you you’ve been plopped in a different world, your chair moves when there’s action, and other practical effects like gusts of wind are enabled as well; in other words, you’ll be totally immersed in the experience.
Just be careful when the simulation is over, though. The whole commotion might have made you dizzy, and standing up suddenly might cause you to fall.
Crash bumper to bumper at Smash and Dash

Smash and Dash is a bumper car track, and this attraction is much more fun if you’re with family and friends!
Your group will be divided into pairs, and then you’ll bump into each other’s cars with the goal to make the other team lose control and crash. It will surely be a time full of screaming and laughter!
Squeal in delight while spinning around on Spinners
Spinners looks like a very simple and straightforward rollercoaster. Basically, the ride just travels in a circular direction but at a super fast speed.
Sharp gusts of wind and a blur of your surroundings are what you’ll experience when going on this ride. It’s extremely thrilling, though you might get dizzy afterward; just remember to get off your seat carefully.
Riders who are below 36” aren’t allowed on this ride. Additionally, riders who are below 54” must have a paying adult to accompany them.
Play various arcade games
This amusement park also has a section that’s filled with a variety of arcade games. This section might be somewhat small, but you’ll find some classic games, such as a claw machine, a car racing arcade, and Whac-a-Mole.
There are even games developed by Midway Games here! From Spy Hunter to Mortal Kombat, you’ll be spoiled for choice!

Having a birthday party isn’t the only thing you can do in this amusement park. You can also host other kinds of events, such as family fun days and holiday parties; even corporate events like charity events and annual office parties are allowed here.
For schools, the park has the Edufun program, which essentially aims to combine education and fun in one experience. In this program, children—usually in Grades 3 to 5—will learn about the different mechanics that make the rides in this park work.
