We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

With life being so hectic, I’ve realized how important it is to keep my health in top shape. That’s why I started visiting a women’s health clinic.

These clinics have dedicated staff with expertise in women’s health issues, particularly those related to the reproductive system. They also provide a level of care and understanding that general clinics can’t easily match.

To help other women find the specialized care they need, I’ve made a list of the best local women’s health clinics.

How much does a visit to a women’s health clinic cost in Toronto?

Most women’s health clinics in Toronto charge $200 for a general consultation session.

However, your price can vary depending on the services provided and your preferred clinic.

How We Chose

Services offered – We prefer women’s health clinics that offer a wide range of services, including routine check-ups, reproductive health, and hormone therapy.
Staff experience – We also picked those with board-certified medical professionals who have more than three years of experience in the industry.
Accessibility – We looked at whether these clinics are near major roads and public transit stations. We also assessed whether they see patients on most days of the week.
Professionalism – We evaluated whether their medical staff are always respectful to their patients and on time for their appointments. We also checked whether they respond to enquiries quickly.
Price fairness – We considered whether their prices are fair considering their facilities, equipment, staff experience, and safety and hygiene protocols.

IWHC Toronto, also known as the Immigrant Women’s Health Centre, is highly praised for its dedicated support of women from diverse cultural backgrounds. Established in 1975, the clinic boasts a team of experienced medical professionals fluent in seven different languages.

In my opinion, having a multilingual staff is one of their greatest assets. It allows them to introduce their wide range of services, like HIV testing and pregnancy consulting, to a broader demographic.

It’s also good that they offer low-cost birth control options to make safe sex more accessible. Here, you can get a contraceptive for as low as $9!

However, it’s worth noting that they sometimes cancel appointments at the last minute. To avoid any inconvenience, it’s a good idea to call ahead and confirm your appointment before visiting.

Pros

  • Almost 50 years of experience
  • Offers low-cost birth control options
  • Multilingual staff
  • Offers STD testing

Cons

  • Sometimes cancels appointments abruptly
  • Inconsistent operating hours

I always have a good experience there

“I have been going to IWCH for 6 years. I always have a good experience there. Staff are very friendly and helpful. but I have known Anna C for 6 years and is the best! She is very professional and always there to help everyone. Thank you for everything.”

If you’re looking for reliable gynecology services, Meridia Medical is definitely worth considering. With over 15 years of experience, this clinic is known for its comprehensive gynecological procedures and can cater to both routine and urgent needs.

Some of their available procedures include hysteroscopy, labiaplasty, and vulva removal. I also appreciate that they can provide compassionate miscarriage care, supporting women both medically and emotionally during challenging times.

Another thing that caught my eye about this clinic is its diverse range of aesthetic services, which is quite unique for a women’s health clinic. That includes treatments like Botox injections, laser hair removals, and microdermabrasion.

However, it’s worth noting that some former patients have mentioned that doctors occasionally arrive late to appointments.

Can’t rate my appointment with Dr. Gerber highly enough

“Can’t rate my appointment with Dr. Gerber highly enough. My first IUD insertion with another doctor was a traumatic experience. I didn’t want that to happen again with my IUD replacement and so I specifically came to Dr. Gerber upon the recommendation of a friend. Everything from the instructions for prep, the fact that he uses local anesthesia, and the post-procedure recovery room with complimentary tea made a world of a difference! I didn’t even realize when the procedure was done in a matter of minutes. Highly recommend!”

Great clinic and friendly staff

“Have been seeing Dr. Gerber and team for the last 10 years. Great clinic and friendly staff. IUD insertion is quick and painless with use of local anesthetic. Modern equipment and tranquil recovery room.”

Their same-day appointments are also a huge plus, especially if you need urgent care or simply want to get things taken care of promptly. Just make sure to call them between 8:30 AM and noon to secure your slot.

Best experience at a women’s clinic I’ve ever had

“Best experience at a women’s clinic I’ve ever had. The entire staff is so kind, caring and mindful. They provide a lot of options to make you more comfortable and make the recovery easier in the clinic. I came in feeling very anxious and they made me feel very safe and calm throughout the whole process.”

I’m extremely grateful

“I went in today for a surgical abortion. My appointment was at 10:30 and I was out by 1:00. Everyone I spoke with was nice, knowledgeable and caring. The nurse was supportive and empathetic when I started tearing up. The procedure itself was so quick I thought they were just prepping me but it turned out they were all done. There was some pain but it just felt like the worst menstrual cramps of my life. The doctor also gave me a prescription for birth control and was open to my pill preferences if I had any. I was so nervous about today but the team took great care of me and I’m extremely grateful.”

The place I often rely on for my health needs is Women’s College Hospital and for many good reasons. The biggest one is their undeniable experience in improving women’s health, as they’ve been around since 1883.

Not only that, but they also boast an impressive range of treatments and services, including primary care, specialized gynecology, and obstetrics. They also have the Peter Gilgan Centre for Women’s Cancers, providing comprehensive cancer care tailored specifically for women.

I particularly value this cancer care facility because it ensures I receive thorough checkups, reducing my risk of developing ovarian or breast cancer.

Another remarkable aspect of WCH is The Centre for Wise Practices. This centre integrates traditional healing practices with modern medical care, offering culturally appropriate support for Indigenous women.

However, one downside of this hospital is its inability to accept emergency cases.

Pros

  • More than 100 years of experience
  • Has a dedicated cancer care facility for women
  • Offers specialized care for Indigenous women
  • Offers comprehensive care for domestic violence victims

Cons

  • Unavailable on weekends
  • Doesn’t provide emergency services

If you want to have a good IUD insertion experience, this is the place!

“If you want to have a good IUD insertion experience, this is the place!

Dr. Dara was amazing! I did not feel any pain! She froze the location, she was quick and I did not feel anything. She was talking with me the whole time. I suggest this place, everybody is kind and the hospital is clean. I had a very pleasant experience and I am telling this as someone who had a horrific experience at a different hospital.”

The people that work here are ANGELS

“The people that work here are ANGELS. Thank you for your service, your kindness, your understanding, your patience and your non judgemental demeanor. My mother doesn’t speak English and we had to go see Doctor Wang. They treat you with such dignity.

The nurses, the resident doctor, and Doctor Wang were just angels in helping my mother with her situation. Thank you. Wow.”

This hospital supports women at every stage, offering services from prenatal classes to advanced gynecologic surgeries. Their high-risk pregnancy clinic is particularly noteworthy, as it’s equipped to provide comprehensive care for complications such as fetal growth issues and maternal heart diseases.

It’s also worth mentioning that they have the Perinatal Mental Health Clinic for women struggling with mental health issues before or during pregnancy.

Furthermore, they provide an extensive list of social services to help women lead healthier lives, including stress management, sex therapy, and discharge planning.

Sadly, accessing these services can sometimes be challenging due to the high patient volume, which might result in longer wait times.

  • More than 100 years of experience

  • Offers mental health support for pregnant women
  • Offers a wide range of social services for women

Cons

  • Long wait times

This hospital was really great

“The services my wife got here were fantastic, everything was on time and was very smooth. The staff was so polite and helpful during my wife Preeti Sharma’s surgery. Till now the best experience in Canada. Yes Canadian healthcare sucks and we have faced that. Never mind. But this hospital was really great 😊”

This hospital is quite a bit better than others I’ve been to

“I had an excellent experience at St. Michael’s hospital today. Every single staff member who I encountered was pleasant and helpful. I had day surgery (breast lumpectomy) and from check-in to check-out it was smooth and seamless. The nurses are attentive and caring and I didn’t feel rushed out, plus everything they are doing is well communicated. I feel that this hospital is quite a bit better than others I’ve been to. Great job!”
