Food Hall TO isn’t just your typical food court; it’s also an incubator that inspires aspiring chefs and restaurateurs to learn more about the food and beverage business. It was established to feature refugees and newcomers in Canada who are passionate about making great food that everyone can enjoy.
Knowing about this mission, I’m now making it one of my go-to spots when I’m in the area! Currently, there are about five restaurants, but I’m hoping for more in the future.
If you’re planning to visit soon, here’s a guide with everything you need to know.

Featured Restaurants
Spice Island
– From: foodhallto
Since Spice Island specializes in Caribbean cuisine, you can expect all the dishes to be liberally seasoned with many kinds of spices. They also smell amazing! Every time I come here, I start drooling once the aroma from the kitchen hits my nose.
So far, my favorite thing to order is the jerk pork. The pork has been marinated for some time, so it’s incredibly tender once it’s cooked. Plus, it’s so flavorful—savory and tangy, with a strong kick of spice.
Aside from the main dishes, there are a couple of side options. I personally recommend ordering the mac and cheese because it’s so indulgent!
Burro Loco
– From: foodhallto
If you love burritos and tacos like me, then you should check out Burro Loco.
The best part about this restaurant is that you can build your own burrito or burrito bowl. My go-to order is chipotle chicken because I love its smoky-sweet flavors. The barbacoa option is also great because it’s rich and spicy.
This spot offers churros as well, and I recommend ordering it as the meal closer. The cinnamon and sugar option is simple yet classic, but if you’re craving something sweeter, get the dulce de leche flavor. It’s so creamy and divine!
Momo + Bao
– From: foodhallto
Take a virtual trip to East Asia by dining at Momo + Bao! This restaurant specializes in momos (a type of dumpling) and baos with Himalayan flavors.
The menu only has a few items for now, so I’ve managed to try them all after coming back numerous times. So far, my ultimate recommendation for momos is the Malai one. The filling is creamy and spicy, and the sauce is velvety and rich. I can’t get enough of it!
As for the baos, I recommend the Korean BBQ chicken flavor. The chicken is incredibly tender and tastes sweet and savory, much like Korean BBQ.
Just Curry
– From: foodhallto
Just Curry is a great spot if you love all things spicy. While the other restaurants in this food court specialize in a particular cuisine, this one is all about fusion. So expect to find rich Indian masalas, hearty Caribbean stews, and herby Thai dishes.
The Two Curry and Rice is hard to beat. It’s simple in concept—essentially, you have to choose two curries to be poured over steamed rice—but it’s so comforting, like a warm hug. It tastes great, too: rich, creamy, and, if you order the meat curries, tender.
If you’re feeling adventurous, get the Biryani of the Day. You don’t know what kind of biryani you’ll get, but you can still expect a fragrant blend of spices and tender meat (or vegetables).
Flip Kitchen
– From: flipkitchento
As of writing, Flip Kitchen is not yet open in Food Hall TO, but I’m excited to try it in the future. From what I hear, this restaurant will feature Texas-style BBQ dishes. My mouth is salivating already!
Additionally, I’ve heard that this spot also offers sandwiches, buns, and pizzas. It definitely sounds like a perfect place to get a quick lunch or a casual hangout session with my friends.
