I’ll be honest, I was frustrated. After six months of working out, my body looked the same. The problem wasn’t effort; it was structure. I couldn’t stick to a proper routine, so I tried fitness classes instead.
Within just a couple of weeks, I finally started seeing results. Having a set program and people to train with made all the difference.
That’s why I’ve put together a list of the best fitness classes in Toronto to help anyone else who wants more guidance and motivation. This list focuses on group classes, but if you prefer one-on-one attention, I also have a guide to the best private trainers in the city.
How much do fitness classes cost in Toronto?
Most gyms in Toronto charge about $20 for a drop-in fitness class. Prices can vary depending on the gym you choose, the type of class, and the instructor’s level of experience.
How We Chose
1. Fit Factory

Classes offered: Strength training, conditioning, bootcamp, and high‑intensity cardio
Address: 373 King St W
Phone number: +1 416-900-0362
Business hours:
6:00 AM – 9:00 PM (MON-FRI)
7:30 AM – 2:00 PM (SAT)
8:00 AM – 1:30 PM (SUN)
Fit Factory Studios (App Store)
Fit Factory Fitness (Play Store)
I’ve been hitting the BUILD classes at Fit Factory, and they’re no joke. I usually head to their downtown spot on King Street, since it’s massive with different training zones, though they also have another studio near Yonge and Eglinton.
The BUILD sessions focus on strength and muscle work, and I like that they push you hard to ensure you get the results you want. They also run BURN and bootcamp-style classes if you want something even more intense.
One big reason I chose them is their satisfaction guarantee, where they promise results or your money back. It also helps that new clients can try two weeks for $49, which made it easier for me to test things out.
The only major drawback I noticed is that they mostly focus on high-intensity workouts, which may not suit people who prefer a slower and easier pace.
Fit Factory is one of the best gyms downtown
“Fit Factory is one of the best gyms downtown. The staff are welcoming and will motivate you to do and be your best. Shout out to Coach Stefan. You won’t be disappointed in his classes. HHHUU RAAHH!”
-Tarique Anderson, Google Reviews
Always love coming to my classes at Fit Factory!
“Always love coming to my classes at Fit Factory! The classes are challenging but so enjoyable—I always come out feeling like I’ve really pushed myself. The instructors are all really knowledgeable and supportive and I love the energy they bring to every class. Shout out to Yaw, Jacklyn, Suzie, Ricky and Patty! I’m sure the rest of the instructors are just as great 😊”

2. The Body Engineers

Classes offered: Full body strength training, conditioning, and mobility work
Address: 36 Sousa Mendes St
Phone number: +1 416-516-8237
Business hours:
6:30 AM – 8:30 PM (MON-FRI)
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (SAT and SUN)
If you’re looking for a gym that offers more than just fitness classes, The Body Engineers is worth checking out. Their focus is on strength training and technique, so it’s less about exhausting yourself and more about building a body that works well.
I like that their classes are small, capped at ten, so you actually get coaching on form instead of fading into the background.
They also provide services such as muscle activation techniques that target weak links and help ease nagging pain. Nutrition coaching is available, too, making the transition to healthier living more manageable.
Furthermore, they have a mobile app for bookings and a rewards program that lets you earn souvenirs and even free classes the more you attend.
Unfortunately, they’re one of the pricier options you’ll find in Toronto. They also operate strictly by appointment, even for drop-in classes.
A great investment in your health
“Highly recommend The Body Engineers group workout classes. All of the trainers are friendly & knowledgeable and the gym is clean & full of great equipment. The class sizes are small which allow the trainers to focus on you and your technique leading to personal progression and ensuring no injuries. A great investment in your health.”

My strength and confidence increased
“I just completed 3 months of personal training with BE. Quick, friendly and responsive with my initial assessment and accommodating to my early morning sessions. Training was personalized and also challenged me—made muscle gains and my strength and confidence increased. BE is a clean space and has a variety of equipment. Highly recommended!”

3. Sweat and Tonic

Classes offered: Yoga, Pilates, cycling, boxing, HIIT, strength training, and HYROX race-style classes
Address: 225 Yonge St

Business hours:
5:45 AM – 10:00 PM (MON-FRI)
6:45 AM – 10:00 PM (SAT and SUN)
Sweat and Tonic is a solid option if you want access to a wide range of fitness classes. They currently have two locations in Toronto where you can join sessions like yoga, HIIT, and boxing.
One of their standout features is their REFORMD studio, which offers specialised Lagree classes and comes with modern touches such as heated flooring and custom chromotherapy lighting.
They also offer The Lab, a HYROX-inspired training space equipped with SkiErgs, rowers, sleds, treadmills, kettlebells, and medicine balls, giving you the feel of a real HYROX competition setup.
Beyond the workouts, I like that they provide corporate memberships, which can be a nice perk for businesses looking to support employee wellness.
On the downside, they’re strict about lateness and will charge $19 if you arrive even a minute late. They also don’t accept cash, which can be inconvenient.
Every visit leaves me feeling energized, challenged, and happy
“I absolutely love Sweat and Tonic! The space is beautiful, clean, and full of good energy the moment you walk in. The staff are super welcoming and always ready to help, whether you’re new to a class or a regular. I’ve tried hot mat Pilates, and the instructor brings amazing energy while also making sure form and safety are a priority. The facilities are top-notch—lockers, showers, and little extras that make the experience feel luxurious. Every visit leaves me feeling energized, challenged, and happy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great workouts in a gorgeous space!”

Sweat and Tonic is such a fun place to take classes!
“Sweat and Tonic is such a fun place to take classes! I especially love spin classes with Quinn at The Well. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the facility is gorgeous. I also love the cold plunge/sauna area you can use with a credit at the well, it’s so restorative! Picking up a smoothie on the way out is a must”

Pure Fitness Canada (App Store)
Pure Fitness Canada (Play Store)
Pure Fitness Canada feels more like a health club than a regular gym. Their downtown facility is massive, around 30,000 square feet, and it also serves as the headquarters for Functional Range Training Systems, a program focused on improving joint health and mobility.
That’s why it’s no surprise to me that they have clinical specialists on site who can help if you’re recovering from injuries or want to keep your body prepared for tougher workouts.
Their class options are broad, with yoga, cardio, and strength training all available, so there’s something for different fitness preferences.
Amenities add to the appeal, including steam rooms and free day-use lockers that make visits more convenient. They even provide a free pass so you can try out the space before committing.
The main drawback I’ve noticed is their cancellation policy, which requires a 30-day notice and can be a hassle.
This gym is honestly one of the best gyms I’ve trained at
“This gym is honestly one of the best gyms I’ve trained at. They use Technogym equipment, one of the best brands in the industry. The lower body setup is awesome with a hip thrust machine, a hack squat machine, and two leg press machines. There are six squat racks too and two of them have platforms which is perfect for me who loves to squat. The people here are great about gym etiquette, weights are always put away and no one is sitting around on their phone while using the equipment. I’ve already referred two of my friends to join.”

Couldn’t be happier with the experience
“I’ve been working out here for a while now and honestly love the classes here. They’re never overcrowded and there’s no penalty if you can’t make it, which is huge for me since I’m often stuck in late work meetings. Booking classes through the app is super easy and smooth too, no hassle at all. I recently started personal training sessions and they’ve been amazing. My workouts, diet, and overall routine are the best they’ve ever been. The trainers really know what they’re doing and keep me motivated every step of the way. Couldn’t be happier with the experience.”

5. Stay Gold

Address: 124 Brock Ave
Phone number: +1 647-691-6912
Business hours: 5:00 AM – 11:00 PM (MON-SUN)
Another gym I recommend for anyone looking for more personalised fitness classes is Stay Gold. They keep sessions small, capped at eight, which makes the coaching feel personal and the atmosphere supportive.
Their lineup includes strength, conditioning, and recovery, along with open gym hours and extras such as a sauna and ice bath.
They also offer a specialised program called Full Send, a 4-week training course designed to give busy people quick results through high-intensity workouts.
I also like that they run BEYOU classes, which are exclusive sessions for women and members of the LGBTQ community who want a safe and welcoming space to stay active.
Furthermore, they regularly run special deals and promotions, and newcomers can even try a free class before committing.
That said, their small class sizes mean membership costs are much higher than average.
Stay Gold is the best gym in the neighborhood
“Stay Gold is the best gym in the neighborhood. It was my first time trying weightlifting, especially with a barbell, and I absolutely loved it! The instructors at Stay Gold Gym are amazing—not only highly skilled but also incredibly supportive throughout the fitness journey. They make you feel confident and motivated every step of the way. I’m excited to keep coming back!”

I’ve seen steady progress and gains throughout my time there
“I joined Stay Gold almost three months ago and I’ve seen steady progress and gains throughout my time there. Started with two days a week and I’m at 3-5 days a week at a minimum now. The facilities are great but it’s the ownership and staff that help cultivate a great community at this gym. This is a special place.”
