The Best Restaurants in Yorkdale Shopping Center Fueling My Shopping Sprees

restaurants-in-yorkdale-shopping-center-fueling-my-shopping-sprees

I love coming to Yorkdale Shopping Center to, well, shop, but recently, I realized that this shopping mall actually has a lot of amazing restaurants. So, I made it my personal mission to try as many of these restaurants as possible and choose my favourites.

In the few months I’ve done this, I’ve treated myself to refreshing Greek dishes, umami-rich ramen bowls, hearty burgers, and more! I don’t think I’ve tried everything this mall has to offer, but so far, the results have been astounding.

Here are my current favourite restaurants in Yorkdale Shopping Center. Check them out!

If fine dining is your jam, then you can’t go wrong with the RH Courtyard Restaurant. With glittering chandeliers and plush furniture, this restaurant will make you feel like you’re dining inside a palace.

The ribeye is the best thing to order here, in my opinion. It weighs a whopping 14 oz, making it perfect for sharing, and the meat is so juicy and tender that it practically melts on my tongue.

I usually pair this order with truffle fries because I love the earthy-salty additions, but grilled asparagus is great as well. Having vegetables balances out all the fat and protein the steak offers.

Pro Tip:

This restaurant has an exclusive brunch menu, but it’s only available during the weekend.

Yu Seafood

– From: yuseafoodyorkdale

Location: Ground Floor and Level 2, #601A

Operating Hours

Yu Seafood is the best place to be if you love both Asian cuisine and seafood dishes. Plus, the vibe here is modern and elegant, which makes the dining experience even more memorable.

I love treating myself to their dim sum options. Currently, I love the grouper dumplings because I love how mild the flavour is, and the grouper filling is wonderfully flaky.

The lobster dumplings are a must-try as well. These ones have a subtle sweetness I like, and they taste even better when you dip them in chilli oil.

Pro Tip:

Yu Seafood at Yorkdale offers memberships. Becoming a member lets you enjoy fun perks like exclusive discounts and priority seating.

Earls Kitchen + Bar has been one of my favourite brunch places, so I was thrilled to discover that it has an outlet inside Yorkdale Shopping Center.

The Steak + Sushi is my go-to order here because it offers the best of both worlds for me. The steak is Tataki-style prime sirloin, and it’s oozing with savoury and rich umami flavours.

For the sushi, you can enjoy a spicy California roll and a fatty Wagyu beef oshi press (or you can choose a smoky, buttery aburi salmon sushi press).

Pro Tip:

Give someone you love a gift card from this restaurant.

JOEY Yorkdale

– From: joeyrestaurants

Location: Ground Floor, #305-B

Operating Hours

  • Sunday to Tuesday—11 am to 12 am
  • Wednesday and Thursday—11 am to 1 am
  • Friday and Saturday—11 am to 2 am

JOEY’s striking rod chandeliers and industrial modern space were the first things that captured my attention, but it’s undoubtedly the food that made me stay. Their dishes here are inspired by multiple cuisines, so the flavours are unique and innovative.

I recommend the Herb Crush Salmon, which is one of their standout main dishes. The salmon has a lovely combination of earthy and buttery flavours, and it comes with truffle beurre blanc and extra earthy and creamy mashed potatoes.

Pro Tips:

You can host a private dinner or event here. This restaurant has a patio area. If the day is clear, I recommend sitting there because it’s so nice to enjoy a good meal while breathing in fresh air.

Moxies

– From: foodie.yyc

Location: Ground Floor, #30

Operating Hours

  • Sunday and Monday—11 am to 11 pm
  • Tuesday to Thursday—11 am to 12 am
  • Friday and Saturday—11 am to 1 am

Contact Number: +14167877600

Website

If you just want a chill and casual dining experience, then Moxies is the restaurant for you.

I’m currently obsessed with their chipotle mango chicken. The chicken is bursting with sweet and spicy flavours, and the pico de gallo adds notes of refreshing tanginess.

You might also like the steak frites. The steak is Angus beef sirloin, so it tastes extra rich and beefy. It also comes with chimichurri for that tangy and acidic zing, fries for extra carbs, and arugula for extra nutritional value.

Pro Tips:

This restaurant has a prix fixe menu called Taste of Moxies if you want a multi-course meal. This menu isn’t super expensive (compared to other prix fixe restaurants), and it’s available for both lunch and dinner. Book a private event here or hire them as a caterer.

TORA

– From: torontoeaters

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Thursday—12 pm to 9 pm
  • Friday—12 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Saturday—11:30 am to 9:30 pm
  • Sunday—11:30 am to 9 pm

Aburi Tora, more commonly known as Tora, is a popular restaurant hailing from Tokyo. This is one of those conveyor belt sushi restaurants, which essentially means that the sushi you order via a touch-screen tablet is served via a conveyor belt.

There are so many options here; it’s overwhelming. That said, I like to stick to my favourites, which include the Aburi California roll (can’t resist the smoky, spicy, and sweet flavour combinations) and the Aburi tuna belly nigiri (the tuna is so fatty that it basically melts in my mouth).

Pro Tip:

This restaurant doesn’t accept reservations (walk-ins only). So, if you want to secure a spot, I recommend coming here as soon as they open. Avoiding peak hours (around 6 pm to 8 pm) can also work.

Konjiki Ramen and Saryo Café

– From: konjiki_ramen

Location: Ground Floor

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Saturday—11:30 am to 8:30 pm
  • Sunday—11:30 am to 7:30 pm

Website

When it’s cold out, nothing hits better than a bowl of hot ramen. Fortunately, Yorkdale has a ramen shop: Konjiki Ramen and Saryo Café.

I recommend the Wagyu ramen, which is just an indulgence in a bowl. The soup base is made with beef and chicken, so it’s super rich and umami-filled. Then, the bowl is filled with roasted Wagyu and Angus beef, beef tendon and brisket, black truffle sauce, and a soft-boiled egg.

By the time I finish this dish, I’m stuffed and ready to go into a food-induced coma!

Pro Tip:

If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please let your server know so that the chef can substitute the ingredients.

Café Landwer

  • Friday and Saturday—9 am to 11 pm

Contact Number: +14164109599

Looking for a place serving delicious comfort food? I’ve got the best place for you: Café Landwer!

I’m personally obsessed with their pasta dishes. I suggest ordering the pesto chicken pappardelle; I can’t get enough of the earthy, nutty sauce and the freshly grilled chicken.

If you come here for brunch, you have to try any of the shakshuka. The tomatoes are jammy and acidic, and the poached eggs have a runny yolk that makes everything taste extra rich. I love using a toasted piece of focaccia to scoop them out—yum!

Pro Tips:

Host your private event here.If you already have a venue, you can book their catering services instead.

Delysées

Calling all people with a sweet tooth in Toronto! Yorkdale Shopping Center has a shop offering the most decadent desserts, and you have to check it out. The name of this shop is Delysées.

I love treating myself to any of their cakes, which look so beautiful that I always hesitate to take a bite. I love the cocoa flavour of the sponge cake, the fruity tanginess of the raspberry reduction jelly center, and the thick and indulgent chocolate glaze. Yeah, there’s no way this cake is leaving my mind so soon.

Ladurée

  • Saturday—9:30 am to 7 pm
  • Sunday—11 am to 7 pm

Another great dessert spot is Ladurée. This shop’s interior design makes me think that it’s taken straight out of a Wes Anderson movie; the pastels are just so pretty, and the treats on display look like works of art.

I’m a big fan of the fraisier cake here. In between the hazelnut dacquoise biscuits is a luscious cream that tastes distinctly of vanilla, plus slices of fresh strawberries. This treat isn’t overly sweet, and the sweet fruitiness of the strawberries comes out in subtle bursts, almost like an aftertaste.

Pro Tips:

Do you want to learn how to bake pastries? You might want to enroll in one of the pastry classes here.Make your wedding extra special by booking a custom order here. This shop also offers other services for private events.

MADO

– From: madocanadaofficial

Location: Ground Floor, Unit A

Operating Hours

  • Sunday to Thursday—10 am to 10 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—10 am to 11 pm

Contact Number: +16475596236

Website

In my opinion, MADO is the ideal spot for a group gathering. The atmosphere here is lively, and the dishes have generous portion sizes, making them great for sharing. Oh, and this is also a halal restaurant, so even my Muslim friends can join me here.

If you’re dining with a group, I recommend ordering the mixed kebab platter for four. This platter offers the restaurant’s best dishes: chicken shish kebab, adana kebab, chicken adana kebab, lamb chops, beef doner, and more.

This dish also comes with fluffy rice, French fries, and lavash with lettuce, so you can enjoy a filling and nutritious meal.

Pro Tips:

Rent the restaurant’s event space for your special occasion. If you already have a venue, you can book their catering services instead.

Pickle Barrel

– From: thepicklebarrel

Website

I love that the dishes served at Pickle Barrel are inspired by the deli classics. Dining here makes me feel nostalgic (I relied so much on delis when I was younger), plus it also helps that the food here is a banger.

I can’t get enough of The Big Smoke. This absolutely massive sandwich is jam-packed with layers of smoked meat, classic corned beef, coleslaw, and Swiss cheese. Every bite is a rich, smoky, and savoury delight, and afterward, I feel so full that I have to take a minute or two before I can drink water.

Pro Tips:

You can host your special occasion here.If you already have a venue, book their catering services instead.

Krystos Modern Greek Cuisine

Craving Greek cuisine? You don’t have to book a flight to Greece; you can just head to Krystos inside Yorkdale Shopping Center instead!

I always get the calamari bowl, which consists of several calamari pieces sitting on a bed of fluffy white rice. The calamari pieces are crispy and salty, and they taste better with the in-house white sauce because it provides a nice tangy contrast.

The dish also comes with a Greek salad, making it extra healthy.

Pro Tips:

You can order catering for your special event.Alternatively, you can host your party inside this restaurant.

Roywoods

– From: roywoodstoronto

Dine at Roywoods, and you’ll feel like you just took a trip to the Caribbean! This restaurant serves amazing Caribbean cuisine that will have you drooling just from the food’s aroma.

If you can only try one dish here, let it be the jerk chicken. The chicken quarter is generously seasoned with the in-house spice rub, and all the flavours assault your tastebuds all at once: savoury, earthy, and spicy. The meat is also so juicy that my face and hands look like a mess afterward!

Pro Tip:

If you want to book their catering services, you need to fill out the form on the website (click on “catering” under the menu tab, and the form should pop up). You can also call the restaurant.

Bingz Crispy Burger

– From: bingz_canada

Address: Ground Floor, FC18

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Saturday—10:30 am to 9 pm
  • Sunday—10 am to 7 pm

Contact Number: +14378805524

Website

Have you ever tried the Chinese-style crispy burger? If the answer is no, this is your sign to rectify that by heading to Bingz Crispy Burger!

What makes the burgers stand out here is that the buns are crispy, and the patties aren’t made with minced meat—just the usual sliced ones.

My favourite burger to get is the one with Peking duck. The duck pieces are wonderfully roasted, so they have a nice charred flavour on top of their rich savouriness. The sauce also provides a slightly sweet contrast that elevates the whole burger.

Pro Tip:

If you order the Shake Shake spicy fries, don’t pour all the spicy powder all at once. The powder is incredibly spicy, and if you have a low tolerance, it might make your mouth feel like it’s on fire!

Marry Me Mochi

– From: marrymemochi

Address: Ground Floor

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Saturday—10 am to 9 pm
  • Sunday—11 am to 7 pm

Contact Number: +14167690088

Website

Marry Me Mochi’s motto is “love at first bite,” and having tried several of their donuts now, I totally agree with it. I actually joked to a friend that if only it were possible, I would truly marry their mochi donuts!

Simply put, their donuts have the same texture as mochi—addictively chewy. Their flavour combinations are also excellent. My current obsession is the Brownie Heartbreak; the fudgy chocolate brownies and crunchy hazelnuts are a match made in heaven.

Pro Tips:

Keep in mind that the flavours change every week. Come here on a Monday because that’s when they reveal what the week’s flavours are.You can book their catering services for a special event, like weddings and birthday parties.
