If you’re dealing with severe mental health issues like persistent depression or anxiety, seeing a psychiatrist is essential.
Unlike psychologists (psychologist toronto), who can do psychological testing, and psychotherapists (psychotherapist toronto), who offer emotional support, psychiatrists are responsible for prescribing medication and offering comprehensive treatments for mental illnesses.
You can get the proper clinical care you deserve by getting in touch with Toronto’s most reliable psychiatrists!
How much does it cost to see a psychiatrist in Toronto? In Toronto, seeing a psychiatrist is typically covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan), so it won’t cost you anything out-of-pocket. If you’re not covered by OHIP, expect to pay $185 to see one. |

1. The Possibilities Clinic
Address: 1920 Yonge St Suite 200
Phone number: +1 833-482-5558
Business hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (MON-SAT)
The Possibilities Clinic is a mental health clinic started by Dr. Doron Almagor in 2014. A skilled psychiatrist himself, he and his team offer a variety of services like psychiatric and psychological assessments, evidence-based treatments, and specialised programs.
One noteworthy service they provide is their comprehensive behavioural intervention for tics (CBIT). This science-backed therapy is designed to help individuals manage and reduce tics, which are involuntary movements or sounds often associated with conditions like Tourette syndrome.
It’s also worth mentioning that their psychiatrists can offer coaching sessions to people with autism and ADHD to help them better manage their conditions and live with ease.
Thankfully, it’s very easy to avail of their services since most of them, like medication management, are offered via telemedicine appointments.
Sadly, some people had difficulties accessing these amazing services because this clinic sometimes forgets to respond to enquiries.
Pros
- 10 years of experience
- Offers comprehensive behavioural intervention for tics
- Offers coaching sessions for ADHD and autism patients
- Can do telemedicine appointments
Cons
- Sometimes forgets to respond to enquiries
- Sometimes cancels appointments abruptly

I’m really grateful for all the services provided by the Possibilities Clinic
“I’m really grateful for all the services provided by the Possibilities Clinic. We were referred by our family doctor to get a psycho-Ed test for our child. I really recommend Samara, the OT who is doing amazing things with my son. Brandy, the in-clinic coordinator, is always so kind, courteous, and professional. We always feel welcomed when we see her at the clinic. She goes above and beyond!”

The BeWell Toronto Health Centre is a renowned provider of mental health services in Toronto, Mississauga, and Hamilton. They offer a wide range of services, like psychotherapy, psychiatry, and psychological assessments.
A reason why I’ve taken a keen interest in this clinic is its therapist match guarantee, which ensures you get the best specialist for your needs. One notable specialist they have is Dr. Andriy Samokhvalov, a practising psychiatrist since 2008 who’s fluent in six different languages.
Along with Dr. Samir Gandhi, he offers plenty of psychiatric treatments, including the RecoverWell program. This customised addiction treatment program uses a combination of medications and talk therapies to not only resolve a patient’s addiction but also help them develop healthy coping mechanisms.

They have absolutely changed my life for the better
“After many nightmare-ish experiences with mental healthcare professionals in the city (in particular psychiatrists), I finally found BeWell.
It truly is the most holistic approach to mental health, having all of these services under one roof is incredible.
They have absolutely changed my life for the better and reduced so much of the stress that comes with taking care of your mental health.
Can not recommend BeWell enough.”

Only clinic with so many psychological services in one place
“Only clinic with so many psychological services in one place. They have a psychiatrist on site whom I have seen and he’s good, but the clinic promotes seeing a variety of their practitioners which at first seemed like a money grab – but the approach makes TOTAL sense.
No one approach can make a difference. As someone who has suffered from ADHD and anxiety for as long as I can remember, I can attest to the validity of their recommended approach; I see a psychologist, started meds and see the naturopathic doctor all of whom have been great. It’s taken me 3 months or so to get to this point, but I feel great.”

Thanks to Feel Light RTMS, my depression is non-existent
“Thanks to Feel Light RTMS, my depression is non-existent. My anxiety too is no longer affecting me severely. I wake up every morning excited and ready for the day. I feel like a kid again. It’s an incredible feeling. The magnet has also helped my physical pain in various ways like one night I slept on my wrist weirdly and I zapped it once with the magnet now it’s great! It has helped with my muscle tension in my shoulders, in fact my massage therapist commented on this. The improvement in my mood has improved my ability to deal with my pain.”

The experience always puts me at ease
“I have accompanied my wife to several appointments at Feel Light, and the experience always puts me at ease. It is comforting knowing she is in such good hands. Kim and Khayam are first and foremost professional, but their friendliness is equally appreciated. I highly recommend this rTMS clinic to anyone looking for the best for their loved ones.”

PathWell is a mental health clinic started by Dr. Gina Di Giulio in 2020. Located in the Financial District, they offer a variety of services like psychological therapies, psychiatric assessments, and medication consultations.
A lot of these services are performed by Dr. Joan Tucker, a seasoned psychiatrist with decades of experience under her belt. Along with the rest of PathWell’s team, she provides in-depth treatments for people who have ADHD and insomnia.
One thing I totally love about this clinic is its promise to connect its patients to a medical professional within only 24 hours. That’s extremely fast and a godsend for those who are in need of psychiatric help ASAP.
However, it has also come to my attention that some of their former patients encountered rude behaviour from their staff. It’s a bit disappointing, especially when you consider the people they’re dealing with.
Pros
- Highly experienced staff
- In-depth treatments for ADHD and insomnia
- Guaranteed assistance within 24 hours
Cons
- Some rude staff
- Sometimes forgets to respond to enquiries

For a diverse range of mental health treatments, there’s Dynamic Health Collaborative. Founded in 2017 by Leah Weisberg, they specialise in psychotherapy, psychiatry, and natural medicine.

- Doesn’t provide emergency care
- Can’t accommodate patients aged below 16
No wait time, great staff, very clean and calm environment
“Strongly recommend going here if you need an assessment and mental health services. No wait time, great staff, very clean and calm environment. Dr Shahwanaz was respectful, understanding and actually catered to my needs. 10/10 recommend. Bit of a backstory, I’ve been thrown around these waitlists for so long. Free care is not worth watching your mental health deteriorate while you’re just on a waitlist. Thanks Dynamic Health!”

They made me feel welcome and comfortable
“I had a great experience at Dynamic Health. Everyone at the clinic that I’ve had a chance to interact with has been super friendly, accommodating, and helpful. From the very beginning, they made me feel welcome and comfortable. I’ve had both in-person and online appointments, and my experience has always been wonderful. Special thanks to Nicky and Elisheva!”
