Months before a mate got married last year, he told me his plan was to don an off-the-rack number. I took that as a cue to intervene (especially since his bride got an elegant gown from one of these wedding dress shops).
For special occasions, ready-made pieces simply won’t cut it; the fit is rarely spot-on, and neither is the look. That’s why I told him to go custom.
Yes, bespoke tailoring costs more upfront. But if done properly, you’ll get an exquisite suit that can look dashing for up to 20 years!
The trick is choosing your tailor wisely, giving thought to every element, like the craftsmanship, fabric quality, and turnaround. Lucky you, since this review covers that!
How much do custom-made suits cost in Canada?
In Canada, custom-made suits cost differently, with entry-level options priced between $400 and $800, mid-range pieces going for $800–$1,500, and high-end sets exceeding $1,500.
Tailor expertise and experience, fabric quality, and the level of customization are the main factors that determine the cost.
How We Chose
1. Erol Custom Tailor Limited

Address: 74 Scollard St
Contact Details: +1 416-792-5544
Operating Hours:
- Mon to Fri – 9:30 am to 6 pm
- Sat – 10 am to 5 pm
- Sun – 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Visionary and creative are the two words clients often use to describe Erol Custom Tailor’s suits. His portfolio supports that, as it consists of fashion-forward pieces, including “dressy and classy” womenswear.
We can’t forget about the international fabrics either. They’re sourced from Scabal, Loro, and other premium mills, so the textiles are superior in quality.
The selection goes beyond a thousand and is priced across multiple points. In fact, affordability is one reason their clients usually don’t move to other shops.
Erol’s tailoring facility is also in the Toronto CBD, meaning the turnaround is quick, normally 2–3 weeks. You can even rock up to it for on-site alterations.
The biggest catch is the queue. The shop attracts a steady stream of customers and has a massive clientele.
And discounts or special deals don’t come up often. Some tailors provide seasonal price cuts for groups.
Comfortable Custom Clothes
We had a wonderful experience at Erol Custom Tailor. Erol was incredibly attentive, friendly, kind, and professional throughout the process. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in the clothing were outstanding, and the final pieces fit beautifully. I would highly recommend his work if you’re looking for a high quality and comfortable custom clothes that will last you a long time

Worth the Time
I could not recommend working with Erol more! A colleague of mine recommended that I connect with him to get my groomswoman jumpsuit altered for a wedding. Erol had me come in and took time and care with me to tailor the jumpsuit to fit to my frame smoothly. For my second fitting, he made some additional adjustments on the spot in order to ensure that it was just right for the wedding in the coming weeks. In the end, he addressed several items on the jumpsuit to really tailor it to me, what I wanted, and my frame, including hemming, working on the seat of the jumpsuit, removing some ribbing, and finessing the fit of the torso so that that it would stay in place, but not hug in unflattering ways. I got many compliments on the jumpsuit at the wedding and this was all for a reasonable cost! Erol is worth the time and the expense. Thank you, Erol!

2. Garrison Bespoke

Address: 26 Wellington St E #101
Contact Details: +1 416-566-2041
Operating Hours:
- Tue to Fri – 11 am to 7 pm
- Sat – 11 am to 6 pm
Garrison Bespoke employs Savile Row methods while keeping the style modern and lifestyle-based. That leads to sharp and practical pieces refined enough to be featured by publications such as GQ and the Discovery Channel!
It’s the store experience they specifically wrote about, and we get it. See, the in-house stylists got a feel for us first (with drinks poured) before tackling the finer details, like the fabrics and cuts.
Availability is one snag, though. Since bookings are a must, you can’t just show up, and the options are limited due to the Monday and Sunday closures.
In addition, women’s wear isn’t available. They’re exclusively for men’s suits.
If that’s what you’re looking for, Garrison is worth the look and splurge. Some of their creations have been worn in star-studded events; think Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding and Drake Night!
I looked freaking phenomenal for my wedding
After my first choice of suit for my wedding fell through, I went to Garrison Bespoke, and I’m so happy I did. David was friendly and charming and knew his stuff. He listened to my somewhat unorthodox demands and was timely and communicative throughout the process.
But most importantly, I looked freaking phenomenal for my wedding. The suit had so many fine touches, fit me perfectly, and looked so bloody sharp. Since my wedding I’ve been excited to find opportunities to wear it again.
Highly recommended.

Excellent Craftsmanship
I had a suit made at Garrison Bespoke and couldn’t be happier with the result. Ben was fantastic to work with throughout the process. Getting a bespoke suit always feels a bit risky since you can’t see the final product upfront, but the fit, fabric, and overall execution exceeded my expectations. Truly excellent craftsmanship.

3. John Ferrigamo

Address: 93 Cumberland St
Contact Details: +1 416-821-2912
Operating Hours:
- Tue to Thu – 11 am to 6 pm
- Thu to Fri – 11 am to 6 pm
- Sat – 11 am to 5 pm
You’ll rarely find John Ferrigamo cutting corners. When we asked his patrons why they stayed, several pointed to his keen eye for detail, with each suit individually patterned and handcrafted.
John’s expertise in fabric sourcing was also mentioned. His textiles come from Italian and English mills that control the entire production, which results in lighter threads geared for long wear.
Many brought up the fittings as well, mainly because they’re done several times to guarantee a perfect fit. It’s also the phase where John and his assistant sort queries and provide individual styling tips (like why slimming a suit doesn’t work for everyone).
The problem is that you must be smart and early with booking. They normally don’t go beyond the 5-day schedule.
In relation to that, some clients had minor gripes about feeling sidelined when the in-store crew was tied up with those who booked first.
Quality Tailoring
I had an incredible experience with John. I was in a bind and needed a suit made on very short notice—and John absolutely delivered. Not only did he come through in an emergency, but the suit fit like a glove and looked amazing. I received a large number of compliments throughout the event, and people were genuinely surprised when I told them it was a job commissioned on short notice. John’s craftsmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism are second to none. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality tailoring.

Like Vintage Wine
John’s craft is like vintage wine – it only gets better with age. His expertise, honed over several decades, speaks for itself. The process of getting a custom made suit from him is elaborate. A detailed first consultation sorts out fabric, measurements and other requirements a customer may have. After a few weeks you can expect a first fitting and nothing misses Johns keen eye for detail. He fixes all the loose ends and finalizes the framework of your piece de art. Another few weeks and you get a pick up call. The quality of fabric is unparalleled and it matches with equally unparalleled quality stitching. Thank you John for a great custom fit. Can’t recommend enough.

4. The London Bespoke Club Inc.

Address: 146 Yonge St, 2nd Floor
Contact Details: +1 416-342-4280
Operating Hours:

- Sat – 11 am to 4 pm
Founded in 2014, The London Bespoke Club Inc. meets Savile Row standards, with master tailors and clothiers making sure the final product is luxe and precise. What’s great is it’s true for both women’s wear and men’s wear.
Signature elements are welcome here, with clients having 100-plus ways to customize. You can add functioning buttonholes, personal embroidery, custom lining, or extra pockets.
And there’s no need to be a fashion expert! The tailors personally deal with the clients.
If your budget is tight, you can even ask them for a cheaper, semi-bespoke piece that’s mostly machine-made.
Delivery, however, needs some improvements. Orders arrived on time for many, though some experienced week-long delays.
Email responses could also be quicker, especially for urgent matters like pricing or complaints.
What shouldn’t change is their fabric game. World-class mills such as Holland & Sherry, Dormeuil, and Loro Piana supply the shop.
Second to None
Got a suit for my wedding here and working with Ian and Kunal was absolutely fantastic. I shopped all around downtown and nobody even came close to the quality of service offered by the team here. Everyone is kind, patient, and the quality of the fabrics and tailoring is second to none. It was my first time ever getting a custom suit and they made the process fun and smooth.
I couldn’t recommend them enough!

Stunning Tuxedo
Absolutely, hands down, the most stunning tuxedo I’ve ever worn. Crafted by my talented friend Kunal. These guys offer an exceptional bespoke service, with high quality materials, and an unmatched attention to detail against their competition. As an athlete, I often struggle to find suits that fit correctly around my waist and thighs, while also maintaining the use of the highest quality materials. I loved their proactive attitude towards tailoring the suit specifically to my needs; Kunal always made sure to consider my custom preferences in the most elegant ways. Will definitely be returning.

5. King & Bay Bespoke Solutions

Address: 161 Bay St., Suite 2515
Contact Details: +1 647-289-5464
Operating Hours:
- Mon to Fri – 10 am to 7 pm
- Sat – 11 am to 5 pm
King & Bay Bespoke is arguably our handiest entry for those about to throw a corporate event or wedding. We say that because their lounge can be used for internal and external functions, where attendees receive custom threads.
They can take care of catering too (like these caterers), letting you sort out the garments, venue, and food in one go. And like the suits, the menu is curated.
Now, that doesn’t mean they’re for companies or big celebrations only. Anybody can swing by for custom suits or footwear.
We even suggest going in-person (though the shop can get hectic). From experience, the staff, especially Michael, are incredibly detailed and cordial.
Plus, fittings happen several times. That clearly works, given they often see returning clients and folks with unique body shapes who come for the precise work.
But boy, are they pricey. One client paid $3,000 for a wedding piece!
Exceptional Custom Suit
I had an outstanding experience with King & Bay Bespoke. Hozefa was fantastic from start to finish, he was super helpful and knowledgeable, and guided me to choose the perfect fabric for my wedding suit. The attention to detail was incredible, and the final fit was perfect. I couldn’t be happier and highly recommend King & Bay to anyone looking for an exceptional custom suit!

The suit is insane
Hozefa and Thomas at King and Bay totally took care of me and had me looking right for my wedding!! They worked with my partner and I to dial in the right look and made us feel super comfortable and at home during the whole process. The suit is insane, it’s exactly what I wanted and envisioned, and King and Bay made it happen. Not only was the product perfect, the experience was amazing too. You feel like a king as you walk into their high rise suite. No doubt they’ll offer you an espresso martini or old fashioned… I recommend trying both. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend King and Bay to anyone needing a fine suit for a nice occasion.
