You have to grab a slice of the best pizzas in Toronto!

pizzas-in-toronto

If there’s one thing that Joey from Friends and I have in common, it’s our obsession with pizzas. I feel like it’s just hard to get this wrong. No matter what toppings are on the dough, it’s still delicious—and yes, that includes pineapples! I’m not sorry!

I love making pizza at home because it allows me to use whatever toppings I have in my fridge. But sometimes, I don’t have the energy to cook or bake, so I go out to a pizzeria or—if I’m feeling extra lazy—I order online.

So far, these are my favorite pizza joints in Toronto, aka the ones I keep coming back to!

Pizzeria Badiali

– From: pizzeriabadiali

Address: 181 Dovercourt Rd

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11:30 am to 10 pm

Contact Number: +14165315555

Website

Located in the West End, Pizzeria Badiali pays homage to New York classics. You can’t go wrong with the salami and hot pepper pizza, which is tangy and salty. It also has a nice spicy kick, thanks to the spicy salami and hot peppers.

My personal favorite, though, is the capicola and pineapple (I wasn’t kidding when I said I’m a pineapple-on-pizza apologist). The tangy and sweet flavors complement each other really well, and right at the end, you’ll get a hint of heat. Every bite is addictive!

Pro Tip:

There’s limited seating at this spot, and it gets fully booked pretty fast. That said, the main room has a standing area, so you can still eat your pizza slice here.

General Assembly Pizza

– From: ga_pizza

Address: 331 Adelaide St W

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Wednesday—7 am to 9:30 pm
  • Thursday and Friday—7 am to 10 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday—8 am to 10 pm

Contact Number: +14165835571

Website

Another great restaurant in the West End is General Assembly Pizza. This one makes use of premium natural ingredients, and you can definitely taste that in every slice.

I really like the Lamborghini Pizza because it has Middle Eastern influences. The toppings include lamb sausage pieces, yogurt, mint, and za’atar, so expect to taste a combination of savory, tangy, and earthy.

Another one I recommend is the Pineapple Express Pizza. Sweet, salty, and spicy—I can’t get enough of this one.

Pro Tips:

You can rent this restaurant for a special event. If you’re interested, you need to fill out this form.

If you already have a venue, you can have them as a caterer instead. You can send an inquiry via this page.

Descendant Detroit-Style Pizza

– From: descendant_pizza

Address: 1168 Queen St E

Operating Hours: Tuesday to Sunday—11:30 am to 10 pm

Contact Number: +16473471168

Website

While the previous restaurant specializes in New York-style pizza, Descendant honors the pizzas from Detroit. In other words, expect to find pizzas that are rectangular-shaped instead of circular.

Daddy’s Favorite has to be my, well, favorite. It’s just loaded with all the good stuff: jerk chicken, mango chutney, curried lime aioli, cheese blend, and more! So, every time I take a bite, I experience a symphony of sweet, spicy, and even earthy flavors!

Pro Tip:

This restaurant offers catering services for special events.

Maker Pizza

From: makerpizza

Address: 59 Cameron St, Chinatown Center

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Wednesday—11:30 am to 9 pm
  • Thursday and Friday—11:30 am to 9:30 pm
  • Saturday—12 pm to 10 pm
  • Sunday—12 pm to 9:30 pm

Contact Number: +14167822000

Website

My friend recommended Maker Pizza to me, saying that it was the closest to heaven that he could taste. I think he was simply exaggerating, but to be fair, the pizza here does taste great.

I recommend their Napoli Dynamite pizza. The sauce is acidic and sweet, and the toppings consist of pickled jalapeños, Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, and green olives, so my taste buds are undoubtedly excited. I have to drink cold water often just to get rid of the heat!

Pro Tips:

This spot offers a few specials. One such special is that you can get two 16-inch pizzas with two dips and four canned pops for just C$75. If you order from this pizza joint often, I recommend downloading their app so that you can start earning loyalty points.

Pizzeria Defina

From: pizzeriadefina

Address: 321 Roncesvalles Ave

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Thursday—5 pm to 9 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—12 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Sunday—12 pm to 9 pm

Contact Number: +14165344414

Website

Who doesn’t love a great wood-fired pizza? Certainly not me! The smoky flavors on top of the tangy, salty, savory from the toppings—how can I resist that? If you agree with me, then you need to check out Pizzeria Defina ASAP.

The Wild Mushroom Pizza is one of the bestsellers, and it’s also one of my favorites. Creamy and earthy are the main flavors of this pizza, but there are also strong notes of tangy (from the lemon-infused truffle oil) and garlic.

Pro Tips:

You can request the dough to be gluten-free.

You can host a private event here. Call the restaurant to learn more details.

North of Brooklyn Pizzeria

From: northofbrooklyn

Address: 650 Queen St W

Operating Hours

  • Sunday to Wednesday—11:30 am to 10 pm
  • Thursday to Saturday—11:30 am to 11 pm

Contact Number: +16473525700

Website

One thing I love about North of Brooklyn Pizzeria is its industrial-chic space because it does remind me of Brooklyn! Plus, the vibes are chill and casual here, making it perfect for a hangout with friends.

The other thing I love here is, of course, the food. My favorite from the menu is the Chickita Bonita. The chicken pieces taste sweet because they’re marinated in honey, while the sauce has smoky-savory flavors. The pie is also liberally topped with shredded mozzarella, so enjoy a satisfying cheese pull with every bite!

Pro Tip:

If you’re planning a large order (above C$350), you need to fill out this form.

One Night Only Pizza

From: onenightonlypizza

Address: 581 Pape Ave

Operating Hours

  • Wednesday and Thursday—12 pm to 8:30 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—12 pm to 9 pm

Website

Despite its name, One Night Only Pizza isn’t just available for one night—which is a good thing because now, I don’t have to worry about finding time to come here and order a slice (or a whole pie).

The loaded baked potato has to be my absolute favorite because it’s just so hearty. It also tastes like a loaded baked potato; so creamy and garlicky with a smoky saltiness from the smoked mozzarella and double-smoked bacon.

Pro Tips:

If you want to order pizzas here for special events, you just have to send the details to [email protected]. If you’re a big fan of this pizza joint, you might want to buy some of their merch. I quite like their aprons and tote bags.

Blondies Pizza

From: blondies_pizza

Address: 1555 Dundas St E

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Thursday—4 pm to 10 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—12 pm to 11 pm
  • Sunday—12 pm to 10 pm

Contact Number: +14373411555

Website

Blondies Pizza started as a humble restaurant in Leslieville in 2018, but in no time, it has garnered enough recognition to warrant opening several other locations within the GTA, including Mississauga and Oakville.

My go-to order is the El Capitana because I love the combination of salty and spicy flavors from the Italian sausage and pepperoncini. If you prefer white sauce for pizza, I recommend The Fourth Majestic. It’s creamy and smoky, with a lovely salty crunch from the bacon bits.

Pro Tips:

You can create your own custom pizza here.Every Wednesday and Sunday, there’s a special combo. This combo usually involves a discount on any 13- or 16-inch pizza (plus two drinks!).

The Fourth Man in the Fire

– From: thefourthinthefirepizza

Address: 832 Dundas St W

Operating Hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday—12 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—12 pm to 10:30 pm

Contact Number: +14167923473

Website

At The Fourth Man in the Fire, you can treat yourself to your favorite pizza classics!

My friend and I tend to order the Margherita pizza because we love how tangy and acidic it is. It’s also creamy with a hint of spice, and I quite like that.

Of course, I can’t say no to the Hawaiian pizza. The sweetness from the pineapples pairs really well with the bacon’s saltiness and the spice from the hot peppers.

Pro Tips:

You can build your own pizza here.

You can host an event at this restaurant or hire them as a caterer. To do so, you have to fill out the booking form, which is accessible from the website’s menu.

Superpoint

– From: superpoint184

Address: 184 Ossington Ave

Operating Hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday—12 pm to 10 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—12 pm to 11 pm

Contact Number: +14165196996

Website

Superpoint boasts a chill vibe, so it’s a great place to unwind after a long day at work.

The pizza flavors here are the classics, but there’s nothing boring about them. I particularly like the burrata and honey pizza because it’s cheesy and sweet, a flavor combo that just hits the spot.

The Deluxe Pizza is also great because it’s loaded with toppings, especially pepperoni and mushrooms. One slice is enough to fill my empty stomach.

Pro Tip:

If you want to host a party here, you need to fill out this form.

Pizza e Pazzi

From: pizza_e_pazzi

Address: 1182 St Clair Ave W

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Friday—4 pm to 10 pm
  • Saturday—12 pm to 11 pm
  • Sunday—12 pm to 10 pm

Contact Number: +14166519999

Website

If you want to stick to the traditional Neapolitan and Italian pizza, then Pizza e Pazzi is the best spot for you.

Porchetta is my favorite pizza option here. It has fior di latte (cow’s milk mozzarella), gorgonzola (Italian blue cheese), and Italian-style roasted pork, so its main flavor is salty-savory. It also has notes of earthy and garlicky from the aioli.

I also like mortadella, which is more on the creamy side. Plus, it has a nice nutty texture because of all the pistachios.

Pro Tips:

Host your special event here. If you do, you can enjoy fun perks like a customized menu. If you already have a venue, you can book their catering services instead.

Slowhand Sourdough Pizza

– From: slowhandpizza

Address: 99 Pape Ave

Operating Hours

  • Tuesday—4 pm to 9 pm
  • Wednesday to Sunday—12 pm to 9 pm

Contact Number: +14164690001

Website

While most restaurants focus on serving food as fast as possible, Slowhand Sourdough Pizza prefers a slower pace. This East End restaurant also prefers using sourdough, so the result is a pizza crust that’s light and airy.

Three Little Pigs is my favorite, and it’s also my ultimate recommendation, especially if you love meat-heavy pizzas. This one has pepperoni, bacon, and pork fennel sausage, so every bite is a savory delight. It’s pretty hearty, too, so you’ll feel full in no time.

Pro Tip:

If you want to host an event here, you need to send an email to [email protected]. Be sure to prepare the details and the minimum and maximum amount you’ll be willing to spend.

Levant Pizza

Address: 899 Bloor St W

– From: levant.pizza

Operating Hours

  • Tuesday to Thursday, Sunday—11:30 am to 9:30 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—11:30 am to 10 pm

Contact Number: +14169014488

Website

The moment I heard a friend describe Levant Pizza to me, I instantly knew I had to check it out as soon as possible. I mean, this place unites Palestinian and Italian flavors. How can I resist that?

Meat Habibi is a must-try. It has beef pepperoni (not halal), sujuk (fermented sausage), and pepperoncini, so salty-savory flavors are prominent. But every bite also tastes tangy and garlicky, thanks to the garlic confit and oregano sauce.

Pro Tip:

If you’re interested in booking their catering services, fill out this form.

Revolver Pizza Co.

From: revolverpizzaco

Address: 388 Royal York Rd, Etobicoke

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 9 pm

Contact Number: +14162522323

Website

Revolver Pizza Co. is one of my favorite restaurants in Etobicoke, but there’s also an outlet in Woodbridge.

I usually go all out on the 4-Cheese Pizza. I know it’s not healthy for my heart, but I just can’t resist the absolute cheesy perfection of this dish. The creaminess of the fior di latte, the saltiness of the Parmigiano, and the buttery flavors of the fontina and havarti. I’m already drooling just writing this sentence!

Pro Tip:

You can hire this restaurant as a caterer for your special event.

King Slice

– From: kingslicepizza

Address: 1130 Queen St W

Operating Hours

  • Sunday to Thursday—11 am to 12 am
  • Friday and Saturday—11 am to 4 am

Contact Number: +14165363738

Website

King Slice has been around since 1989, and in that time, it has won the hearts of the locals. This restaurant is also family-owned, so the vibes here are very homey—like you’re just dining at your grandparents’ home.

My go-to order here is the pollo al basilico. This one has pesto sauce as the base, and the toppings are mushrooms, chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, and mozzarella. Because of this, the flavors are mostly herby and earthy, with a bit of tanginess.

Pro Tips:

You can create your own pizza, so go crazy with the toppings and sauce combo.

If you want this restaurant to cater for your event, you can send a request to [email protected]

Queen Margherita Pizza

From: queenmargheritapizza

Address: 785 Annette St

Operating Hours

  • Tuesday to Thursday, Sunday—12 pm to 9 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—12 pm to 11 pm

Contact Number: +16473454466

Website

As the name suggests, Queen Margherita Pizza specializes in Margherita pizza, so you might as well order that. It’s creamy and tangy—exactly what you would expect from this type of pizza.

If you don’t like Margherita, don’t worry because there are other options. My personal favorite is the Calabrese. It’s kind of like cacciatore (Italian chicken stew) but in pizza form. It’s salty and peppery but also spicy enough to make you sweat and chug down cold water often.

Pro Tip:

You can book their catering services for a special event. Please keep in mind that catering orders must be placed at least a week before the event.

Pizzeria Libretto

– From: pizzerialibretto

Address: 155 University Ave

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 10 pm

Contact Number: +14165510433

Website

Taste the very best of Neapolitan pizza at Pizzeria Libretto!

The duck confit pizza has to be my favorite because it tastes fancy—like it’s a dish you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. The duck confit pieces are tender and juicy, and they complement the rich, creamy sauce.

Another one that I really like is the Hawaiian pizza. The pineapple slices are grilled, adding a layer of smokiness that elevates the dish. Plus, this pizza has tomatoes, ham, bacon, jalapeño, and hot maple, so you can taste a combination of salty and spicy.

Pro Tip:

Book an intimate gathering with your loved ones here.
