So, I finally decided to throw some punches that weren’t just at the air after a bad Leafs game. I signed up for boxing lessons, and let me tell you, it’s been unreal!
Turns out boxing isn’t just about looking tough; it’s one of the best workouts I’ve ever had, and yeah, it doubles as a handy self-defence skill too. The tricky part was finding a trainer who actually knew their stuff instead of just doing cardio with gloves.
After way too much Googling and asking around, I finally landed on some quality lessons. Since I don’t want you wasting time like I did, I’m sharing the best boxing options in Toronto so you can jump straight into the action.
How much do boxing lessons cost in Toronto?
Boxing lessons in Toronto usually cost about $30 for a single drop-in class.
A monthly membership is around $200 and gives you unlimited group sessions. Private training is more expensive, often about $80 each session, depending on the coach.
How We Chose
1. Boxing DownTown

Services offered: Private boxing training and in-home boxing training
Address: 33 Bay St.
Phone number: +1 888-771-4080
Business hours: Available 24/7
I’ve been training at Boxing DownTown for a while now, and it feels very different from the usual gym setup. One of the main reasons I chose it is that Onur, the coach, has a strong background in the sport.
He won the Turkish Championship of Boxing and grew up around the national team, so his experience is clear in the way he teaches.
The sessions are private and focused, which means I get proper attention on technique and fitness. Onur is also flexible with how he trains, adapting to what each person needs.
You can train downtown in his studio or have him come to your home with equipment. I stuck with the downtown lessons because I enjoy the structure, but I know busy people will appreciate the in-home option.
Unfortunately, Onur doesn’t have a proper gym setup, so you’ll train using only basic equipment.
Some of the best classes and coaches that I’ve experienced
“Some of the best classes and coaches that I’ve experienced. Onur and his team are excellent at making sure each experience is perfect for your level. No session is the same, and they’re so accommodating to my schedules 🙂 I’d recommend them to anyone—whether it’s your first time boxing or hundredth.”

The best decision I made
“Boxing was something new to me and I knew I needed to learn privately instead of going into a gym and it was the best decision I made. Onur is great, has a wonderful personality, is very welcoming and has a lot of skill and knowledge in boxing. He has been around boxing his whole life, and it shows! After only a few classes I feel much more self-assured in my ability to box!”

2. 161 Boxing Club

Services offered: Youth boxing, open gym, strength and conditioning, fitness boxing, technical boxing, and more
Address: 161 Spadina Ave. Floor 2
Phone number: +1 647-232-9564
Business hours:
6:00 AM – 11:00 PM (MON-FRI)
8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (SAT and SUN)
161 Boxing Club has only been around since 2025, but they already offer a few things that make them worth checking out. For starters, they offer free trial classes, which let you see if their approach to boxing fits your style.
Their rates are fairly competitive compared to other downtown gyms. For $189.99, you can sign up for their Foundation Membership, which gives you eight lessons each month along with unlimited gym access.
That extra access is useful if you want to practise drills or conditioning on your own time.
I also like that they have an Introductory Package for newcomers who are still deciding. It costs $99.99 and includes three standard classes plus one private session.
The only drawback is that private sessions run for 35 minutes, which feels short compared to the usual hour offered at other gyms.

The class was super accommodating to all levels
“I went to 161 Boxing Club with a friend who recommended it, and I’m so glad I did. It was such a fun way to switch up my regular workout routine. The class was super accommodating to all levels, and I loved that there was a nice mix of men and women with different skill sets. The instructor gave really personalized attention throughout, which made it easy to follow and stay motivated. I left feeling strong, sweaty, and already planning when to come back—definitely adding this to my regular rotation!”

6:00 AM – 8:00 PM (FRI)
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (SAT and SUN)
If you’re looking to enjoy the workout side of boxing, Rumble Boxing Studio is worth checking out.
A friend of mine tried the free first class for newcomers and told me the session ran for 50 minutes with boxing combos mixed with strength and conditioning, all set to high-energy music that keeps you moving.
I found their classes to be quite accessible. They offer boxing lessons for adults and also have specialised sessions for teens and kids, which makes it more inclusive.
Another feature is their FightClub Rewards program, where you earn a $100 voucher after 100 visits. That’s solid value for people who train often!
The downside is the pricing. Monthly membership for the first month is $199, but after that it jumps to $240. The loud music of their classes may also be annoying for those who prefer quieter lessons.
I left both sessions feeling stronger and more confident
“I’ve done two boxing sessions with Jack at the Yorkville location, and honestly, he is awesome. I loved how he mixed in some strength exercises too, it gave the session a nice balance and kept things interesting. I left both sessions feeling stronger and more confident. Definitely recommend training with him!”

Classes are a great work out especially if you already have technique down
“Classes are a great workout especially if you already have technique down. If not, it’s still a great way to learn in a fun, no pressure environment. Private lessons are elite. Nicole is a great PRO instructor!”

4. JUNGLE:TO

Services offered: Technical boxing, kettlebell workout, arms and abs workout, boxing stance lessons, full-body strength training, and more
Address: 501 Queen St W
Phone number: +1 289-795-5528
Business hours:
6:30 AM – 9:00 PM (MON-THURS)
6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (FRI)
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (SAT and SUN)
JUNGLE:TO is a decent choice for anyone looking to nail down the fundamentals. Their classes revolve around boxing, strength, and mobility training, all taught with a strong focus on technique and detail.
They make it easy to test the waters with their Holistic Starter Pack. For $65, you get three classes, which is a fair way to see if their style works for you.
If you like what they offer, their monthly memberships start at $189.99. These plans include unlimited classes, full gym access, and even a free guest pass so you can bring a friend along.
But what caught my eye is their media services. They provide professional photography and videography, which is useful if you want to track progress or create content.
However, their drop-in fee costs $35, and it only stays valid for a month. That feels restrictive for anyone with a busy schedule.
Great energy, great coaching, and great vibes
“Took the Technical Boxing Foundation / Level 1 class and it was 🔥. I’ve got some experience in boxing, and this was a great way to sharpen the blade. I brought a friend who’s a beginner, and the class was super beginner-friendly too, perfect for all levels.
Coach Jay does an amazing job breaking everything down clearly. From the warm-up to the cooldown, the flow was solid, and the workout itself was no joke. Great energy, great coaching, great vibes. I’ll definitely be back for more rounds. 🥊💯”

United Boxing Club (Play Store)
United Boxing Club has been part of Toronto’s boxing scene since 2014, and it’s a good option if you value experience. I like that they offer a huge variety of classes, making it easy for most people to find something that fits their needs.
One of the highlights is their 6 Week Challenge. It’s an intense program aimed at beginners, covering conditioning, core boxing techniques, and nutrition plans to help you build fitness quickly.
I also appreciate their 90-day Fight Camp program. This one focuses on intermediate techniques and sparring, giving students a real sense of what it feels like to train for the ring. It’s especially useful for anyone interested in boxing as a self-defence skill.
Their mobile app is another plus, since it makes booking and purchasing lessons straightforward.
The only major downsides are that classes fill up fast and weekend hours are limited.
I left feeling stronger and more motivated
“The boxing training was absolutely amazing—super dynamic and energizing! I left feeling stronger and more motivated. On top of that, I grabbed a coffee after and it was just perfect. The girl who made it was incredibly kind and welcoming. She truly made the whole experience even better. Great vibes, great training, and great coffee—I’ll definitely be coming back!”
