Blinds to Go has been operating since 1954, so the fact that it stands to this day is proof enough of the quality of their products.
In fact, many of their past and returning customers have remarked that their blinds are built to last a lifetime, and I do agree. My childhood home has blinds from this store, and they still look as good as new!
The array of products here is commendable. The wood and faux wood blinds have my attention, but I also really like the aluminum and vertical options. They even have motorized blinds if you want something more modern.
And if you want to spruce up your windows even further, you might want to check out their aisles with shades, shutters, and drapery.
Another thing I love about this shop is that they offer design consultations if you’re intimidated by the idea of doing everything by yourself. During this consultation, you’ll meet with a design expert who will listen to your concerns and your goals, and they’ll provide you with a plan that you can follow.
You can have this consultation at the showroom, but if that’s too much of an inconvenience, you can have it at your home. Oh, and the best part is that this is free!
This shop also offers free samples. If you’re not sure how a certain blind will look in the room, you can order a free sample and place it on the window. I know many customers who get many samples because they’re experimenting with different material combinations, so feel free to do the same thing.
Blinds to Go is proudly Canadian-owned and operated, which is great news. Firstly, this means that the prices are competitive because there’s no need for a middleman. And secondly, if you do want to have some customizations on your blinds, you don’t have to wait long because their manufacturing company is here in Canada.
Oh, and before I forget, this store also offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. That’s an impressive offer, so I have to give them props for that.
As for the downside, the most common complaint is concerning customer service. According to several customers, the customer service takes some time to respond. Also, sometimes, when they report an issue, it doesn’t get resolved immediately. This has frustrated some customers, but fortunately, this doesn’t seem to happen often.

I discovered Condo Blinds out on a whim (I was just walking aimlessly on Roselawn Avenue), and I really liked what they had on display, so I decided to walk inside. Fast-forward a few months, and the blinds I got from them have to be my favourite so far (shh, don’t tell the others).
I bought Roman shades here, and even though they don’t have any prints on them (just a solid plum colour), they look gorgeous and add a pop of colour to the room. The workmanship is also excellent; the material feels premium to the touch, and overall, the product is light but sturdy.
The process of buying these blinds was so smooth, too. First, I had a consultation with one of their experts, who actually came to my apartment so that she could provide an accurate opinion on what would work best.
We had a back-and-forth, discussing the best options, and once I made my choice, she offered me a possible quote. The real price I paid was higher than the quote, but the difference wasn’t too drastic. It was still reasonably priced, so I can’t complain there.
The installation service is also noteworthy. The team was prompt and professional. To my surprise, they were done before I finished making treats for them. Their efficiency is impressive!
If you don’t like Roman shades, don’t worry, because they have many options, such as Venetian blinds, faux wood blinds, and roller shades. They even have skylight blinds, shutters, motorized blinds, and drapes!
As much as I love this shop, I’ve heard from other customers that the customer service is poor. Some of them have sent emails reporting issues and other concerns, and it took forever for someone to respond to them. Sometimes, they don’t even respond at all, which is infuriating.

The array of products available is pretty good; it’s not as extensive as other stores, but they do have some good options. Zebra blinds and roller blinds are the most popular, but you can also find blackout blinds, vertical blinds, smart blinds, and California shutters.
To make things better, all their products come with remote control compatibility, so if you want to make your blinds motorized, you can absolutely do that!
If you’re interested in their products but you’re not sure if you’d like them or if you can afford them, you can have a free consultation first. It’s done at your home, so no need to drive to the office.
The consultant will come with free samples and assess the windows you’re planning to put blinds on. They’ll give you their honest opinion and a few suggestions on which blinds will look the best, and once you’ve made your choice, you’ll receive a free quote. Melrose Window Coverings has been operating for more than 25 years, and in that time, they have won the trust of many Toronto locals. The store is also owned and operated by one family, which I’m thrilled to hear about.
First things first, this is a Canadian business, which means that all their products are manufactured here. In other words, their blinds are brought straight from the factory, so there’s no middleman involved, leading to affordable prices.
Oh, and their manufacturing time is also pretty fast—under two weeks! I don’t think other stores can match that!
The lineup of blinds is also impressive. You have the classic options like zebra blinds, faux wood blinds, vertical blinds, and Roman shades, but they also have offerings that I don’t normally find anywhere else, like smart film.
I’m also happy to learn that they’re selling outdoor or patio awnings.
For people who aren’t sure if this is the best store for them, a free consultation is available. You can have an expert stop by your house to check the windows and help you decide which blinds to pick. If you like their suggestion, they’ll give you a quote within the day. They don’t waste time at all!
Their installation team is efficient as well. They’ll arrive at your house right on time, and before you know, they’re done.
If you encounter any problem with your purchase, you can contact their customer service, which is available 24/7. If it turns out that your blinds have defects, there’s no need to panic because all their products here have a 25-year warranty!
However, the warranty has its limitations for motorized components. If the damaged part is a motorized component, the warranty is only applicable within four years of purchase instead of the originally promised 25 years. Still, it’s great that they offer this.
