I got intrigued by ColorGlo GTA when a friend told me that their colour-matching skills are amazing. He had his seats restored by the crew here, and the car came back to him like new!
Now that I’ve tried their services, I can say that their colour-matching skills aren’t their only worthwhile qualities. I also really like the shop’s variety of services. They can repair both mildly worn and seriously damaged areas and install new upholstery.
They’re also versatile. Working with leather is their bread and butter, but they can also restore faded interior components like vinyl, headliners, burns, and broken plastic or composite molding.
Another thing I like about this shop is how fast the service is. I sent them an inquiry with a photo attached, and they quickly gave me a quote. I left my car at their shop, and they finished their work on time. All this happened in a few days.
However, one complaint I have is that the location is pretty far—literally an hour away from downtown Toronto! I also wish they were open on weekends because I know so many people are busy on weekdays.

Great service at a reasonable price
“My car had a tear on a vinyl portion of the seat and Max masterfully fixed it. He gave the options of either replacing that section of vinyl or patching it. He warned me that patching wouldn’t make it perfect, but it turned out to be much better than I hoped! And all for a reasonable price.”

Marlee Upholstery has been around since 1976, and the current owner and operator, Fernando Caputi, has been working here since 1981. This is a plus for us who value experience.
Moreover, this shop is versatile. In terms of auto upholstery, they can repair seats, provide seat covers, and make custom seats. They also offer other services for your car carpets, door panels, headliners, and more!
They can even repair motorcycle upholstery. The motorcycle seat that you think is now utterly deformed? They can reshape it back to its original form!
The inexpensive pricing is another reason to love this shop. I thought that the repair or replacement was going to cost me a lot, but to my surprise, that wasn’t the case.
I don’t have much negative to say about this shop. If I have to be nitpicky, I’d say the operating hours. They’re only open from Monday to Friday, and I wish they were open on the weekends, even for just a few hours.

TM Custom Auto Trim and Glass Ltd is another shop that has been around for a long time—more than 60 years! Over many decades, the crew has been repairing, restoring, and replacing upholstery for plenty of car models.
Their array of services available is extensive. Leather interior and other seat work-adjacent services are the most popular, but they also offer sunroof repairs and restoration of old cars.
If you need a new installation of upholstery, the shop will use leather seats from Katzkin, a well-reputed company for auto upholstery. The seats look good and are durable!
The quality of the craftsmanship is also worth noting. The crew pays great attention to detail, so the installation is clean and seamless.
The shop mostly caters to clients in North York and the rest of the GTA, but they’ve also served clients from neighbouring areas like Vaughan and Markham.
One small complaint, though: the rates here can be a bit higher than other shops, which is a bummer.

Alpha Auto Trim Ltd. is another auto upholstery shop that’s located a bit far from downtown Toronto (around 40 minutes), but in my opinion, it’s worth the drive. Locals agree, too. After all, this shop has been serving them for about 50 years.
Their upholstery skills are impressive. They have a keen eye for detail, as well as painstaking patience, so the result is a clean installation.
Their upholstery service isn’t just for car seats. You can also get leather covers for convertible tops and headliners. They can even work on other types of vehicles like motorcycles, boats, and other marine vessels!
Their services don’t end there. They also have skilled graphic designers and glass installers. You can add lettering to your vehicle or replace your windshield or other glass components!
I also really appreciate that this shop is open every day. This makes it easier for people to book an appointment on their day off.
