As February approaches, there’s a palpable buzz in the air here in Toronto. That’s because the 46th Annual Rhubarb! Festival is just around the corner!

Running from February 12 to 16, 2025, at the iconic Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, this year’s festival promises a vibrant mix of unique performances and events.

It will be curated by the brilliant director Ludmylla Reis and is set to showcase 13 diverse works from local and international artists. Each piece is designed to push boundaries and spark conversation.

One of the shows I’m particularly excited about is “Biography of Harry Allen” by Valentine Leger. It’s described as a blend of a folktale, a mental breakdown, and a questionable history lesson. Sounds intriguingly unconventional!

Another highlight is “Conversation//Connection” by Bad Machine, an improvisational art piece that involves audience participation. The chance to become part of the art itself is something I eagerly look forward to.

I’m also eagerly anticipating Renata Carvalho’s “Transpophagic Manifest” and Ray Young’s “OUT.” These performances promise to be thought-provoking and compelling.

That’s why I snapped up my tickets as soon as they became available. Make sure you get yours too. They’re quick to sell out!
