I follow a girl named Ellen on TikTok. She posts lifestyle vlogs, but what really drew me in were her nail videos. I love her style and have even tried to copy her inspo, but it took a while to find a salon that can get it just right.
So it became my habit to try out different manicure spots, and these ones became my favourites because they hit my nail style pegs!
If you’re looking for other beauty treatments to do after your manicure, try these waxing salons in the city.

How I Chose
1. Polish and Posh Beauty Studio

Address: 96 Avenue Rd
Phone: (416) 800-3387
Business hours: Monday to Sunday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
I first heard about Polish and Posh Beauty Studio when a friend recommended them for eyelash extensions, so I booked an appointment. That’s when I found out they also do nails, and I went back a few weeks later to try their nail services.
They use advanced European Russian and Ukrainian dry manicure techniques. I was curious if it would really look different, and it definitely does!
Unlike most salons that soak your nails in water, they start right away with an electric file and other tools to clean up the cuticle area. I was a bit nervous at first, but the technician was so careful that it didn’t feel rough.
The cuticle work was the cleanest I’ve had in a long time. My polish was applied really close to the base but didn’t touch the skin, which is where I usually get lifting. It looked tidy even before the top coat.
They didn’t rush the shaping, either. The technician took time to refine the edges until both hands matched perfectly. I’m particular about symmetry, so I really appreciated that.
They use high-quality products, like professional gel systems and builder gels, which feel sturdier than regular formulas. I noticed the gel went on smoothly and cured evenly.
My gel lasted more than two weeks without peeling or lifting. That’s important to me because I’m always washing dishes and doing laundry.
If I could suggest one improvement, it would be the space. The studio feels a bit cramped, especially when it gets busy.
Meticulous and highly skilled

Olha did such a great job that I didn’t even wanted to get any nail polish … 110% satisfied and happy 🌸🌸🌸 I am writing this before even getting my toes done !! That’s how happy I am with this place 🥹”

2. Deco De Mode Toronto

Address: 112 Scollard St
Phone: +1 647‑352‑3326
Business hours: Monday to Saturday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Deco De Mode is my sister’s go-to waxing salon and beauty spot, and I often tag along to get my nails done whenever she goes.
On one visit, I remembered trying a French tip style, which many people assume is easy, but nail techs know can be tricky. They managed to make it look perfect, with crisp, even lines that exceeded my expectations.
What made it even better is that the French tip was done using their Russian manicure technique, so every cuticle was cleaned and shaped before they painted the tips. The precision really showed, and I liked that the gel nails didn’t look fake at all.
I also noticed how seriously they take hygiene. Everything from the tools to the chairs felt spotless, which I really appreciated.
Their nail art options are simple but sophisticated, which fits the style of the French tip I got. From what I could see of their past work, some of the accent designs are subtle but clever, adding a bit of fun without feeling over-the-top.
That said, as a multi-service beauty bar, they only have a limited number of nail techs, so you might have to wait a little longer for an appointment.
Caring and skilled team
“I have been coming to Deco de Mode monthly for about 6 months now and have never ever been disappointed. The team is wonderful and you can tell they really care about their clients. My nails have never been healthier and a gel manicure lasts 3-5 weeks with no lift or peeling. Highly recommend!!”

Exceptional, attentive service
“I had the BEST customer service and manicure/gel nail experience with Julia S. who helped me pick the perfect shape/color. All of the staff were kind and professional. Darya even watched/played with my puppy so I could let my nails dry. Everyone went over and above! A 5/5 well earned.”

3. Loft Nail Studio

Address: 250 Queen St W
Phone: +1 416‑597‑8686
Business hours:
- Tuesday to Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Thursday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
When I’m out of ideas for what to do on my nails, I go to Loft Nail Studio. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to experiment.
They offer everything from classic polish to Gel X and hard gel extensions, so you can choose whatever suits your mood.
Gel X is my favourite option here! It lasted much longer than I thought it would. The best part? My nails didn’t feel bulky or heavy at all, which is such a relief because I can’t stand that stiff, fake nail feeling.
The nail art menu is fun too, with levels from simple to advanced. While I was there, I saw someone get a “naked” manicure, and it looked so natural. You couldn’t even tell she had anything on her nails!
I also love their team. They notice all the little details and somehow always suggest nail art that really fits your style. You can tell they’re genuinely talented and passionate about doing nails.
Moreover, the studio is quiet and cozy, so it’s perfect if you want a relaxed experience.
The only downside is that their Queen West location can be hard to find since it’s upstairs, so it might take first-timers a moment to spot it.
Long-lasting, high-quality manicure
“Posting this review a literal full month after my shellac manicure – it’s grown out, but there has not been a SINGLE chip! I have never had such a long-lasting and quality manicure. Studio was also super cute and my nail tech was a delight!”
– Emily Dzongowski, Google Review
Skilled nail technician, welcoming salon
“I’m new to the area and gave this cozy spot a chance. Rayna did an amazing job with my nails. The shellac is still in tact with no chipping or peeling more than a month later! I’ll definitely be back.”

4. 1997 Nail Bar Downtown

Address: Aura Mall, P1 Level, 384 Yonge St Unit 66
Phone: +1 416‑598‑8956
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
1997 Nail Bar Downtown is by far the busiest spot on this list. When my friends asked me to join them for their appointments, I decided it was time to see what all the hype was about.
I went for acrylic extensions with a design I’d been overthinking for days. The nail tech didn’t roll their eyes once at my details and actually followed exactly what I asked for.
Not every salon lets you be picky without making it awkward, so that really impressed me!
One of my friends tried the Apres Gel-X extensions. She said they felt sturdy and didn’t have the strong chemical smell you sometimes notice at other salons.
I also saw they offer a Bio Gel strengthening option. It looks like a good choice if you want stronger nails without any heat or irritation.
The nail art stood out, too. I saw someone next to me get a chrome ombré with tiny 3D accents, and I couldn’t stop looking at it! The artists here really enjoy being creative, not just painting nails.
The location is really convenient if you’re near College Station inside Aura Mall. You can book a same-day appointment or just walk in, so you don’t have to plan far in advance.
That said, they’re really popular, so snagging a spot can take a little patience. Still, the results are worth it, and leaving with nails that actually match your vision is a rare win.
Friendly, communicative salon
“Amazing place! I’ve been looking to get this nail design for years and they did it perfectly my first visit ever. They’re communicative and the staff is very friendly. Thank you Fiona for your work :)”
– Veronica Cruz, Google Review
Experienced and skilled technicians

5. Kim Nails and Spa

Address: 1205 Queen St W #6
Phone: +1 416‑588‑3386
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
What really made my first visit to Kim Nails and Spa stand out was the nail techs. They’re friendly and easy to talk to, so getting a manicure feels more like catching up with friends.
They’re a favourite for anyone watching their budget. You can get combo deals for manicures and pedicures at a lower price, and some packages even throw in extras like a paraffin treatment or a hand massage! It’s a nice upgrade that doesn’t break the bank, which is always a plus.
I also like that the combo deals let you try different nail services at once. It’s a good way to see what you like best without having to pick just one treatment.
I usually go for plain nails because I love their colour choices—especially the wine red, which is my favourite. Even the simple colours look neat and polished because the techs apply the polish so carefully and finish the edges well.
I’ve noticed that even when the salon is busy, it still feels clean and well-kept. The décor is relaxing, and you can see that the tools are maintained and sanitized, which is always reassuring.
My only gripe is that they’re usually busy, so at times it can feel a bit rushed. But if you go when it’s quieter, the techs give the kind of attention that makes you want to stick around a little longer.
Friendly, professional, and clean nail salon
“I’ve been coming here since I was in university (it’s been 10+ years) and it’s been my favourite nail salon in the city. Everyone is friendly and so professional! They have a wide variety of colors and styles, they always have something new for the season. The salon is always clean and tidy! I recommended my mom here as well and she loves it! Highly recommend visiting here!!”
– Landy, Google Review
Friendly and accommodating nail spa
“Really friendly nail spa with lovely results. I didn’t like the nail colour I chose, so they removed it and started again without any fuss. I felt terrible about it, but they were so kind and made me feel completely okay. Great service and I’m very happy with my nails.”
