Dylan YoungAs a self-proclaimed geek with a love for all things tabletop, I was thrilled to visit the We’ve Got Games: A Merril Collection Exhibit at the Lillian H. Smith Branch of the Toronto Public Library.
This exhibit is a treasure trove for enthusiasts of role-playing games, collectable card games, and even games played by mail.
One of the highlights for me was the Lord of the Rings board game. It brought back fond memories of late nights spent playing with my cousins during our childhood years.
They even have the original art for Magic: The Gathering, which was a fun surprise for me. Several of the other attendees I’ve talked to also had a fun time here. We even had the chance to play a couple of games to spend the afternoon!
If you’re interested in visiting the exhibit yourself, note that it’s open to the public from 9 AM to 5 PM every day from November 4, 2024, to January 26, 2025.
It’s completely free, and everyone is welcome—whether you’re a seasoned gamer or a curious newcomer looking to explore the world of tabletop games.
