Re-Wrap Custom Upholstery has been around for over 16 years and offers custom work for sofas, benches, cushions, and more. They also do antique restoration, which is good if you’ve got old furniture that deserves a proper revival.
One thing that stands out to me is their wide range of fabric options. Alongside classics like leather and silk, they use Sunbrella, a tough outdoor fabric designed to resist mould, stains, and water damage.
If you’re unsure about fabric or style, they offer interior design consultations to help guide your choices. It’s also nice that they provide pick-up and delivery, so you don’t need to haul furniture across town for their services.
That said, they don’t always hit their promised deadlines, which can be frustrating. I’d suggest looking for other options first if you need your furniture back ASAP.

With over 20 years of experience, VS Design & Upholstery is a shop I feel can reliably keep things right. They’re versatile too, offering standard furniture upholstery while also providing specialized services like restoring antiques and redoing RV or boat interiors.
A huge reason why I think they deserve to be on this list is the lengthy warranties they provide to their customers. They’ve got a lifetime warranty on frames, a 5-year warranty on cushions, and a 1-year warranty on labour and fabrics.
They also offer a discount for interior designers, which is good if you’re looking for a reliable upholstery partner for client projects.
Now, they’re not perfect. Their turnaround time is 4 weeks, which might feel slow if you’re in a rush. And while they do offer pick-up and delivery, their shop is a bit north of the city, so visiting in person takes some effort.

Since I wanted my grandparents’ furniture to keep its original look after restoration, I went to Burkcraft Upholstery & Repair for help. They’ve been around since 1978, so I felt confident they knew how to handle antique pieces.
What I like most is that they use 100% European leather hides. The colour and finish matched the original almost perfectly. They also reinforced the springs and replaced the foam, which made the chairs feel sturdier and more comfortable.
It’s nice too that they provide in-home service. They came to my place to assess and restore the furniture, which saved me the hassle of moving everything. I also got a 15% discount on the leather, so I managed to save a bit.
However, I did run into a hiccup with scheduling. They didn’t respond to my calls at first, so I had to follow up a few times before things got moving.

You don’t need to visit their store to browse either. Their shop at home service sends a design consultant to your place with samples on hand. They also offer free consultations to help make sure your choices match your home’s style.
Now, for the flip side. Their fabrics and services aren’t cheap, so they may not suit every budget. It’s also disappointing to learn that some folks encountered rude behaviour from their staff.
