Nicole is warm, intuitive, and clearly passionate
“I started seeing Nicole at Bliss Counselling in Milton in January 2025 for PTSD treatment after years as a first responder. I originally sought out EMDR therapy, but during our consult, Nicole recommended Somatic Experiencing (SE) due to the complex nature of my trauma. She explained that SE would support healing my entire nervous system, rather than just rewiring specific incidents — and that shift has been life-changing.
Through this trauma-informed, body-based therapy, I’ve learned to recognize and regulate fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses, increase my window of tolerance, and build capacity for difficult emotions and overstimulating environments. After 7 months, I’ve gone from weekly sessions to biweekly or longer now, because of the real, measurable progress I’ve experienced.
Nicole is warm, intuitive, and clearly passionate about her work. We’ve built strong rapport, and our sessions are not only healing but often filled with laughter, reflection, and shared insight. Her somatic approach has been the missing piece for me after trying various cognitive-based therapies that tend to offer a top-down model and rely more on talk therapy — something that’s been less effective for me in the past.
An unexpected but powerful outcome of this work has been how it’s impacted all areas of my life — especially in intimate relationships, family dynamics, and social situations. Understanding how my body responds to perceived threat has given me a new sense of agency, helping me make more conscious choices about where and how I invest my energy.
If you’re looking for PTSD therapy in Milton, complex trauma counselling, or a truly effective somatic therapist, I highly recommend Nicole or her team at Bliss Counselling.
Very grateful!
Cheers,
Gabby”
