Queen Street Dental Centre simply dazzled me with its royal treatment! This local dental clinic seemed unassuming at first due to its simple and modern interior, yet it stood out for its warm, patient-centric customer service and wide range of dental treatments.
I only came for a general cleaning and exam until the dentist pointed out that my wisdom teeth were impacted and at risk of causing problems in the future.
That’s when they recommended that I see their Yale-educated oral surgeon, Dr. Goldberg. I was skeptical at first, but thankfully, it turned out to be the right choice as I was able to have IV sedation for my wisdom teeth removal and it couldn’t have been easier!
Aside from preventative dental treatments and family dentistry, Queen Street Dental Centre also offers cosmetic dental services such as Zoom! in-office whitening, Invisalign, veneers and bonding, root canals, gum treatments, dental implants, and more.
They are closed on Sundays, however, and their evening and weekend schedules fill up quickly, so it’s best to contact them as soon as possible for an appointment.

Having been founded in 2000, Freilich Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is certainly a veteran when it comes to performing oral surgeries. It’s currently headed by Dr. Marshall Freilich, who’s best known for his former role as President of the Ontario Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
His clinic offers a wide array of services, from wisdom tooth removal to advanced dental implants.
They even provide cutting-edge solutions like 3D-printed jaw implants for those with severe bone deficiencies. This innovative approach ensures that each implant fits perfectly with the patient’s unique anatomy.
It’s also nice to learn that Dr. Freilich can provide immediate dental implants, which can be done within the same day after a successful tooth extraction.
Sadly, I heard from some of his former patients that they encountered rude behaviour from his front desk staff.

A key reason why I included them is the diverse range of services they provide. That includes run-of-the-mill procedures like wisdom tooth removal to more complex ones like jaw surgery and bone grafting.
They even have this innovative technique called Guided Tissue Regeneration, which helps grow new bone and gum tissue. It’s especially useful for those who are suffering from periodontal diseases.
Moreover, they make it easy to learn about these advanced treatments through The Davis Consult. This comprehensive consultation does not require a referral from a dentist or physician, ensuring accessible and convenient care.

If you need a dental implant, one of the best choices is Implant Surgical Care. It’s currently led by Dr. Lesley A. David, a well-respected oral and maxillofacial surgeon with more than 25 years of experience in the industry.
One of this clinic’s standout features is its ability to install a full set of dental implants in under an hour. Additionally, they offer zygoma and tilted implants, which are particularly beneficial for patients with less bone in their upper jaws.
Beyond implants, they provide a variety of other oral surgery services, including wisdom tooth extractions, bone grafting, and corrective jaw surgery.
However, it’s important to note that their services can be on the pricier side. I strongly suggest you take advantage of their financing options to help manage the costs.

The clinic I chose for my wisdom teeth extraction was CVOS Oral Surgery. With five conveniently located offices in the GTA and over 45 years of experience, they seemed like the best choice.
The procedure was a breeze thanks to their use of the X-Guide system. Dr. Steven Leung, my surgeon, explained that this advanced technology provides highly accurate 3D images of patients’ mouths. This innovation reduces the number of incisions needed, resulting in better outcomes and faster recovery times for patients.
I was also quite impressed that they offer the All-on-4 procedure. This method involves using four implants to support a full arch of teeth, providing patients with a stable and permanent solution in just one day.
Unfortunately, CVOS isn’t part of the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), which could be a drawback for those who rely on the plan for affordable dental care.

“I had a great experience at CVOS Oral surgery. Dr.Elias is very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. The surgery was quick, smooth and painless. I also expected to have a swollen or bruised face the next morning, however there was no sign of surgery done even though there was an extraction of a large infected tooth and I had the wisdom tooth next to it removed. So far the recovery has been very smooth and pain is very minimal and manageable. The nurses are also very kind, friendly and patient and the clinic and operating room are very clean. Another clinic that offers a wide range of oral surgery treatments is Horizon Oral Surgery. It was founded in 2018 by Dr. Eric Ebrahimi, an oral surgeon with over a decade of experience in the industry.
One of the most notable aspects of this clinic is its approach to managing MRONJ (Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw), a rare but serious condition. They offer patient education and modified approaches to extractions to manage this condition effectively.
They also excel in performing frenectomies, a straightforward procedure to remove excess soft tissue. This is an excellent solution for patients dealing with gum recession or speech issues.
In addition to these specialized services, Horizon Oral Surgery offers dental implants, wisdom tooth removal, and bone grafting.
Unfortunately, they don’t direct-bill insurance companies. The additional hassle can be quite annoying for some people.
