The Best IT Recruitment Agencies in Toronto That Can Help Build Your Dream Team

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

IT professionals are so in demand nowadays that my friends in the industry told me they never run out of job opportunities. (Oh man, if only I had listened to the advice my dad gave me back then!)

In fact, the demand for IT professionals is so high that 55% of Canadian tech entrepreneurs can’t find enough talent to grow their companies (IT World Canada)!

If you’re one of those business owners, I suggest you seek the help of these reliable IT recruitment agencies in Toronto to attract the top talent for you!

How much do Toronto IT recruitment agencies charge for their services?

The usual cost for hiring an IT recruitment agency in Toronto is 23% of the employee’s first-year salary. However, please take note that the price may vary depending on the job role, the experience required, and your preferred recruitment agency.

How We Chose

Job role specialisation – We looked at whether these IT recruitment agencies can provide talent for various IT roles, like network admins, programmers, and project managers.
Track record – We picked those who have a good track record of helping both businesses and job seekers find the perfect candidates and job openings. We looked at how they source candidates, their hiring process, and what clients say about them.
Candidate pool – We also assessed whether these agencies can provide many choices to their clients based on their network of companies and candidates both inside and outside of Toronto.
Customer service – We also evaluated whether they have customer support teams that can assist clients when needed. We also checked whether they respond quickly to calls and emails.
Price fairness – We also considered whether their service fees are fair based on the quality of their candidates and the number of services they provide.

Let’s start with one of the most prominent IT recruitment agencies in Toronto, Michael Page. Founded in the UK in 1976 by Michael Page and Bill McGregor, they have more than 45 years of experience recruiting permanent employees for e-commerce, finance, marketing, and IT.

Looked pretty typical until I realised that, as a multinational agency, they can recruit IT professionals from any part of the world that they have a branch in! I view that as a huge plus, given that available IT professionals in Toronto are few.

And for job seekers, Michael Page also offers resources and guidance to improve their career prospects. If you need help refining your cover letter, they have your back!

Sadly, their customer support needs improvement. Some complained that they didn’t get responses to their enquiries.

Pros

  • Can recruit IT professionals from around the world
  • More than 45 years of experience
  • Offers assistance and resources on career growth for jobseekers

Cons

  • Sometimes forgets to respond to calls and emails
  • Many automated messages

Michael Page prioritises the needs of all their clients without reserve

Motion Recruitment is an IT recruitment agency located in Old Toronto. Founded in 1989, it specialises in recruiting professionals in IT fields like Big Data, cybersecurity, UX design, and network infrastructure.

What I find interesting about them is their approach to recruiting talent. Instead of limiting themselves to usual methods, they host large events like Tech in Motion and the Timmy Awards to attract aspiring IT professionals.

These events, which celebrate the best and brightest IT professionals in North America, are very popular. That’s why it’s no surprise to me that Motion Recruitment has a candidate pool of over 250,000 tech enthusiasts.

Aside from these events, Motion Recruitment also helps job seekers improve their skills via their management methodology coaching programs for Agile and DevSecOps.

The only problem I have with them is the concerning reports that some of their staff are rude.

Pros

  • More than 30 years of experience
  • Recruits candidates for challenging IT sectors like Big Data and cybersecurity
  • Regularly hosts special events like Timmy Awards to attract new talent
  • Offers coaching programs designed for management methodologies like Agile and DevSecOps

Cons

  • Sometimes forgets to respond to calls and emails
  • Few reports of rude behaviour from staff

Puts you in touch with industry leading companies

“A superb recruitment agency that puts you in touch with industry leading companies. They provided me with opportunities tailored to my profile and encouraged me throughout the interview process. They even checked in with me after I started the job to make sure everything was going well!

All in all, I had an exemplary experience with them!”

The best recruiting agency I have worked with!

“The best recruiting agency I have worked with!

Jaimie and Gabriel both did an excellent job finding positions for me to interview and the process was very fast!

The interview prep and reminders for the interviews was very helpful, and I hope to work with them again in the future!”

Live Assets is an IT recruitment agency founded by Olga Fragis in 2011 with a human-centric approach to attracting top IT talent for companies in Toronto. This means they avoid using automated filters and checkboxes to find their candidates.

Instead, they tap into their verified network of IT professionals and carefully screen every candidate to determine whether they satisfy the specific requirements set by their client.

As expected, this process is extremely thorough, which is why Live Assets only presents three profiles per role. If you ask me, I definitely respect the level of meticulousness these guys go through to ensure you’ll get the perfect candidate!

They also assist their candidates in every way they can, like providing one-on-one assistance and coaching, to ensure they get the job.

I have no problems with them except for their tendency to take almost 24 hours to reply to enquiries.

Pros

  • No automated filters during candidate screening
  • More than a decade of experience
  • Offers one-on-one coaching to jobseekers

Cons

  • Some rude staff
  • May take more than 24 hours to respond to enquiries

It was a pleasure working with the Live Assets team

“It was a pleasure working with the Live Assets team, I found the entire team very professional, focused, detail oriented and efficient. Lilo Thekkekara and Olga Fragis from Live Assets were very transparent on the entire recruitment journey.

I would highly recommend Live Assets to any IT professionals who are looking for new roles or searching for a new adventure.”

Very professional and know the market very well

“Excellent agency. Olga and all of the Live Assets team are very professional and know the market very well. Whether working with an employer or a job seeker, Olga and her team always look for the right fit for both, not only on the technical side but also the human and cultural aspect.

I highly recommend working with Live Assets, you won’t regret it!”

Leap Recruitment Partners Inc. is an IT recruitment agency in Sullivan that provides direct hire and contract candidates for IT roles such as software developer, database admin, VMware admin, and project manager.

My favourite agency out of the five, they have my utmost respect for launching the SPARK program. This program aims to help autistic individuals find gainful employment by offering mentorship that can improve their chances of making a good first impression on employers.

Employers also have something to gain from this program, as it can teach them how to create more inclusive and supportive work environments.

Aside from recruitment services, they also offer payroll solutions and employee retention services.

However, while I find their efforts commendable, I still believe that they need to work on their communication. Some former clients I’ve talked to told me that their contacts at Leap Recruitment rarely check their emails.

Pros

  • SPARK program is designed to help autistic individuals seek employment
  • Can help employers create a more inclusive work environment
  • Offers payroll solutions and employee retention services

Cons

  • Sometimes forgets to respond to calls and emails
  • Their permanent staffing guarantee only lasts up to 90 days

My overall experience with Leap Recruitment Partners was great

“My overall experience with Leap Recruitment Partners was great. It was a pleasure to work with Pragathi Vijay as she demonstrated exceptional professionalism and expertise from the first round of interview until receiving my offer letter from the Client.

Thank you for your opportunity and support throughout this process!”

LEAP is super professional and helpful!

“I worked with Kaizeen and she was able to get me two interviews within a week of signing up with LEAP. And then in less than a month I was offered full time employment with a great company! LEAP is super professional and helpful! 100% recommend.”

Fuze HR Solutions is an IT recruitment and staffing agency located in the Fashion District. Founded by Angelo Pino in 2006, they can help you secure talents for job roles like full-stack engineers, system admins, and IT analysts.

The way they attract talent is quite clever, in my opinion. They do so through the Fuze 24/7 Labour App, which uses AI technology to streamline the staffing process and allow employers to quickly find candidates and manage their timesheets, pay statuses, and schedules.

Job seekers can also use the app’s AI to quickly find an employer that best suits their preferences.

While most candidates in the app are for short-term hiring, their multilingual recruiters can help you transition a temp worker into a permanent employee.

Sadly, I found out that their recruiters sometimes fail to contact candidates again, so watch out for that.

Pros

  • Fuze 24/7 Labour App uses AI technology to streamline the staffing and recruitment process
  • Multilingual recruiters
  • Recruits IT professionals from anywhere in Canada

Cons

  • Sometimes fails to follow up with jobseekers
  • Some candidates were given the wrong job

Quality recruiter, quality agency. It’s that simple

“I had a really good experience with Fuze HR. I worked with Gregory who found a job in my field, at the salary I wanted, and at a workplace only 15 minutes by foot from my home.

Gregory is also someone you can trust. He is open to discussing all the details about what the position has to offer and he will work his best to get you the highest salary. Everything Gregory told me that the job entailed was presented in the job description and the offer. He is also very readily available to answer any of your questions – even when he’s visiting his family in Europe!

Quality recruiter, quality agency. It’s that simple.”

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Fuze HR Solutions

“It was an absolute pleasure to work with Fuze HR Solutions through Emad Kattan. I had nothing short of an amazing experience with him. Over the last year I have received the absolute highest level of support and dedication from him. He is so passionate and knowledgeable about his craft which makes the process seamless. Emad has made it simple for me to explore my options and always kept my best interests in mind. I would highly recommend Emad Kattan to anyone planning to expand their career or find contract/full-time positions across various industries.”
