I went with Techno Gate GTA for my auto gate, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. I didn’t even mind that the shop is located all the way in Markham. In my opinion, it’s worth the hour’s drive from downtown Toronto.
What I like most about this shop is the variety of options. I opted for the sliding gate, but they also offer swing gates and overhead doors for garages. They can even install an intercom system, too, allowing you to talk to any visitor before letting them in.
This shop doesn’t just cater to residential homeowners; they also serve commercial clients. In particular, many of their commercial clients purchase their tilt gates and barriers.
I also love the staff and installation crew here. The owner himself, Afshin, was friendly and attentive; he didn’t mind all my questions, and he gave amazing suggestions as well.
As for the crew, they were punctual and organized, so the whole process felt smooth and efficient.
I found the price to be reasonable as well. But if you’re still unsure, you can always contact them for a quote.

The main highlight of this shop is its incredible selection. Cantilever gates, power gates, security gates, and more—this shop has got you covered! You can also take your pick among their available materials, which are mostly steel, glass, and aluminum.
Another thing that people love about this shop is the fact that they can customize their gates (and other products). As such, you can have yours looking like one of those classic gates with elegant ironwork.
I also appreciate that the auto gates are compatible with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and MyQ Smart Control systems. Talk about the ultimate convenience!

Their list of products is one of the reasons why they’re so popular. When it comes to gates alone, you have the cantilever, swing, and even overhead sliding gates. The latter is a standout because they can easily adapt to almost any kind of electric operator.
As for the materials and finishes, you have even more options. Natural aluminum is the most popular choice, but you can opt for galvanized steel, vinyl coating, and field painting.
Oh, and their services are just as extensive. If you have any issues, they can troubleshoot that for you, and if they discover some damage, they can repair or replace some parts. They can also do routine maintenance if you just want a quick check.
They even have a 24/7 emergency service! And if you’re still unsure about getting their services, you can request a quote first before deciding to commit.
However, it’s kind of annoying that this shop is located all the way in Mississauga, so it takes around an hour to reach it by car. Another downside is their customer service; people told me that this shop tends to ignore emails and demand payment up front.

Great service
“I have used this company before to repair my gates and they have always done a great job. I had the need to get 2 roll-up doors installed in a very hard spots. The floors were not level and the openings were not square. Steve who was in charge did a fantastic job at making a very difficult job look easy. He had Brayden with him on the first day and Paul with him second day and as a team they did a great job. They kept and left their work area clean. My salesperson Greg was great and very helpful. Of all the shops I’ve recommended, Ontario Gates is located the farthest; it’s in Brantford, which is more than an hour away from Toronto. But in my opinion, it’s still a shop worth checking out.
This shop’s specialty is its custom wrought-iron gate, which you can have as either a swing or a sliding type. On top of the automation, you can also add intercoms to your gate for that extra security and convenience.
Residential homeowners aren’t their only clients. They’ve also provided their services to commercial entities, from hotels to airports!
In addition to their gate installations, this shop offers gate repairs. If your gate isn’t damaged but you just want to make sure everything is okay, you can book their gate maintenance program.
