I’m the kind of person who enjoys getting things done at night, including shopping for groceries. To my surprise when I first came to live in Toronto, there weren’t a lot of grocery stores that were open 24/7.
Fortunately, I managed to find a few, and they’ve become my go-to spots when I’m craving snacks or run out of ingredients late at night.
Rabba Fine Foods
– From: rabbafinefoods_
Address: 361 Front St W
Contact Number: +14162059600
Rabba Fine Foods is arguably the most popular 24-hour grocery store in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. There are many locations throughout the city, but my go-to choice is the one on Front Street.
This grocery store has everything I need—from fresh produce to cold deli cuts and meat and poultry products. There are even baked goods and prepared foods here, which are perfect whenever I’m hungry and craving a snack in the middle of the night.
Pro Tips: Rabba Foods also has a catering section. You can hire them for special events like birthdays and corporate parties. Don’t know what to cook? The website has a few recipes that you can try at home. |
Hasty Market at Davisville
– From: thephoenixking90
Address: 21 Davisville Ave
Contact Number: +14164878675
Technically, Hasty Market is more of a convenience store, but it’s loaded with so much good stuff that I now treat it like a supermarket.
This store has my daily needs like fresh produce and dairy, but there are also pastries, bread, and salads, and I always stock up on them for snacking purposes. I can even enjoy a hearty meal here because they sell hot food, shawarma, and smoothies.
You can even purchase a lottery ticket here! Truly, this store is a jack-of-all-trades!
Pro Tip: Sometimes this store holds special promotions. Take advantage of them when you can! |
Busy Bee King Mart
– From: busybee.kingmart
Address: 675 King St W
Contact Number: +14165049372
I find Busy Bee King Mart endearing mostly because it’s operated like a bodega by one family. The people working here have also become familiar to me, so I always feel at ease when shopping here.
The product selection here is pretty eclectic. There are shelves dedicated to Korean snacks and instant ramen (my favorite instant dishes), but you can also find unique drinks like premium ginger beer. There’s even a wide array of exotic cheeses here!
Pro Tip: This store only accepts cash and Canadian debit. |
Circle K
– From: circlekcanada
Address: 106 Humber College Blvd
Contact Number: +14167492705
Circle K may only have a small range of products, but I still like coming here for snacks. There’s a good variety of chips and candies, and I also love browsing through the shelves of beverages at the back.
I also love that this place sells bus tokens and metro passes, making it convenient for public transit takers like me. There have been so many times that I’ve forgotten to stock up on my tokens and passes, and this store saved my butt.
Pro Tip: If your phone battery is low, there are charging stations here. |
Aisle 24 Market
– From: aisle24market
Address: 310 Richmond St W
Contact Number: +16479321037
Aisle 24 Market is my newest discovery. This independent grocery store is full of charm and serenity. I also love that it’s fully automated, so checking out is always a breeze!
This store is always stocked with everything I need. I usually get frozen foods (in case I don’t have time to cook at home), fresh produce, baked goods, and deli cuts. There are also personal care products here like shampoos, lotions, and toothpastes.
