After each passing year, I’m beginning to experience pain in my knees, back, and neck. Is it just me, or am I collecting all these various body pains as if I were Thanos collecting the Infinity Stones?
While ibuprofen seems to do the job of alleviating the discomfort temporarily, I need a more permanent solution. That’s why I’ve decided to seek professional guidance from a physiotherapist.
After doing some digging, I finally learned who the best ones are in the city. Let me share them with you!
How much does it cost to see a physiotherapist in Toronto? Most physiotherapists in Toronto charge $135 for an initial assessment and $95 for succeeding sessions. However, your cost may vary based on factors like your preferred clinic, the physiotherapist’s experience, and session type. |

Toronto Physiotherapy is a renowned physiotherapy clinic that was founded in 2009 by Lindsay Davey, a registered physiotherapist. With two locations in Toronto, they offer a solid list of physiotherapy treatments for chronic pain, back pain, wrist pain, and more.
There are a lot of good things that I can say about this clinic. For one, they seem to be actively investing in top-of-the-line equipment, as they’re one of the few clinics in Toronto that has an AlterG anti-gravity treadmill.
A device originally made by NASA, the AlterG allows its users to run or walk at a reduced body weight, which is a huge help for neuro rehab sessions.
Furthermore, they offer a 25% discount for first-time customers!
Sadly, not everything is great about them, as some former patients have complained of encountering rude behaviour from their staff.
Pros
- 15 years of experience
- Has AlterG anti-gravity treadmill
- 25% discount for new customers
- Two locations in Toronto
Cons
- Some staff are rude
- Inconsistent operating hours
His treatments sorted things out very quickly and I’m pain free
“Paul took great care in helping with a shoulder problem which turned out to be a few different issues. His treatments sorted things out very quickly and I’m pain free. I’ll go back to Paul for any future physio that I might need!”

“Ana has been amazing at helping me overcome my chronic hip pain. She is extremely knowledgeable about the mechanics of the body and how to use Pilates to target the muscles that need strengthening. For the first time in almost 7 years, my hip feels almost pain free. Thanks Ana!”

2. Rebalance Sports Medicine
Address: 155 University Ave Suite 303
Phone number: +1 416-306-1111
Business hours: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (MON-FRI)
Rebalance Sports Medicine is a physiotherapy clinic that currently operates two locations in the city, one on University Avenue and another on Yonge Street. They were founded in 2013 by Alishah Merchant, an experienced registered physiotherapist.
For me, one of their biggest strengths is their comprehensive list of services, which includes physiotherapy, sports medicine, and chiropractic care. They also have unique treatments available, like Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation and therapeutic laser therapy.
These services are performed solely by their experienced professionals without relying on aides or assistants to do the heavy work. This is awesome as it ensures they never double-book and you’ll only get the best care from their staff.
However, one thing I dislike about them is their slow customer support. I called them once to enquire, and I was put on hold for almost an hour before someone entertained me properly.
Pros
- 11 years of experience
- Unique treatments like Gunn IMS and laser therapy
- Doesn’t double-book appointments
- Two locations in Toronto
Cons
- Slow customer support
- Sometimes forgets to respond to enquiries
I highly recommend them for any physiotherapy needs
“I’ve been dealing with chronic Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Tendinopathy for most of my adult life. Since 2021, I’ve been visiting Rebalance and working regularly with Masha (Maria). After my very first assessment with Masha, I left the clinic feeling significantly better. She created a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically to my needs. The entire team at Rebalance is exceptional, and I highly recommend them for any physiotherapy needs”

Highly recommend for any treatment you might need
“Highly recommend for any treatment you might need. Mackenzie is absolutely awesome. I had a very specific elbow problem and he went out of his way to find all the little problems and make sure I was healing properly when someone else would’ve just said, “It’s a tennis elbow” when it wasn’t.”

Honestly, I find it awesome to discover that their services go beyond physiotherapy, as they also offer acupuncture, massage therapy, sports performance, manual therapy, and chiropractic care.
What’s also nice is that they have a loyalty program that lets you earn points towards earning a free massage. They even have a referral program that also grants you a free massage whenever you successfully refer someone to try their services.
Sadly, they still have some kinks to work out, like the tardiness of their physiotherapists, who sometimes arrive 15 minutes late to their appointments.

- Free massage for friend referrals
- Seven locations in the GTA
Cons
- Tardy staff

This was an outstanding experience
“This was an outstanding experience. From dragging one leg rather painfully for a few months and expecting possible knee surgery my physio here enabled me to recapture muscular strength etc in very few visits and no surgery took place. Great encouragement, understanding. Therapist was first class, the best I have had.”

My experience has been great
“I’ve been coming to see Tina for a few months already and my experience has been great. She’s very attentive, professional and easy to deal with. Tina is helping me to recover from a wrist injury. I also had a massage with Alisha and she’s amazing too! Front desk ladies are super nice and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for professional and friendly specialists.”

With clinics in Toronto, Bloor West, and Oakville, Physio DNA is one of the most accessible physio clinics available in the city. Started by Priya Maloni in 2017, this clinic offers customised physiotherapy, massage therapy, and chiropractic work.
One of the best things about them is their willingness to cater to businesses through their corporate physiotherapy service. Their physiotherapists can come visit your office to teach workplace wellness to your employees and provide on-site treatments if needed.

Cornerstone Physiotherapy is a renowned physiotherapy clinic that has been in operation since 2008. With clinics conveniently placed across seven locations in the GTA, this clinic provides easy access for those seeking physiotherapy services.
While they do offer a long list of services, one thing that stood out to me was their rehab treatments. One example is their vestibular physiotherapy treatment, which uses state-of-the-art infrared goggles to perform an accurate diagnosis on a patient suffering from dizziness.
Using the data gathered, their physiotherapists will then formulate a series of sessions to eliminate the root cause.
Aside from that, they also offer other impressive rehab treatments designed for recovering COVID-19 and breast cancer patients. Thankfully, most of their treatments can be done through virtual appointments.
However, it has come to my attention that some of their former customers encountered rude behaviour from their staff.

- Rehab treatments for recovering COVID-19 and breast cancer patients
Cons
- Some staff are rude

Very glad I decided to go to Cornerstone for my physiotherapy needs
“At first I was very hesitant about going to physiotherapy for my neck and shoulder. I didn’t have hope that anything could help with my pain. Amy from Cornerstone was kind, friendly and caring which made the experience so much easier and better than I was expecting. Amy was very helpful and very knowledgeable in assisting with reducing my neck and shoulder pain. I am very glad I decided to go to Cornerstone for my physiotherapy needs. All the staff was very friendly.”

Cornerstone is an amazing clinic for Physio
“Cornerstone is an amazing clinic for Physio. Therapists with different specializations. The staff are professional and the space is well equipped and comfortable. Amy is amazing! The sessions made a big difference. I received exercises to continue on my own after discharge. A great experience with Cornerstone!”
