There’s no better way for me to start the day than with a warm cup of tea in my hands. That’s why I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Toronto Tea Festival.

Scheduled to be held on February 1st and 2nd, 2025, this annual event promises to be a tea lover’s paradise. It will take place at the Toronto Reference Library’s Appel Station and will be open to the public from 10 AM until 5 PM.

The reason why I’m stoked about this festival is its extensive tea tasting. This year, attendees will have the opportunity to sample some of the finest teas from around the world.

The tea-tasting event will showcase many amazing exhibitors like Tao Tea Leaf, Amani Tea, Cha Gloriette, and the Nepal Tea Collective. You can find out where these exhibitors will be by checking out the floor plan here.

Another great thing about the Toronto Tea Festival is that it’s more than just tasting; it’s also a cultural experience.

We’ll have the chance to witness traditional Chinese tea ceremonies led by Sabrina Chen and Japanese tea ceremonies by Momo Yoshida. These ceremonies aren’t only beautiful but also offer a glimpse into the rich customs surrounding tea.

But if you think the learning stops at tea ceremonies, think again! That’s because the festival will also feature tea lectures like A Journey Through Terroir, where we will have the chance to learn about wine and tea pairings.

Furthermore, the event will host several renowned speakers, including Shabnam Weber, Kevin Gascoyne, and Edward Qu. These experts will share their insights and secrets on how to prepare better tea.

And for those looking for some fun activities, don’t worry. The famous Tea Taster Box Challenge is making a comeback, and it will test whether visitors have what it takes to be the best tea tasters in Toronto. Of course, I’m definitely planning on signing up for this one!

And as a delightful bonus, since this is the 10th anniversary of the festival, attendees will receive a special gift in a big tote bag. Let’s hope it includes some amazing souvenirs I can proudly show off to my friends and family.

Now that we’re done with the festival’s event lineup, let’s talk admission. A single-day ticket here only costs $20. There’s also the two-day pass, which costs $35 and is perfect for those who want to enjoy all of the festival’s activities, like me.

However, please take note that the wine and tea pairing program I mentioned earlier will be an exclusive event and has a separate ticket for its participants. This ticket costs $60 per person.

You can purchase your tickets here. Just be quick, though, because they’re selling out pretty fast!
