Wig prices in Toronto vary greatly, depending on the materials (e.g., human hair or synthetic), the construction (e.g., lace front cap or monofilament cap), design, and additional features (e.g, highlights and styling).
Entry-level wigs are usually made with synthetic hair and have basic styling; because of this, they’re the cheapest options, ranging between C$80 and C$500.
Mid-range wigs are around C$1,000 and C$3,000, and they’re made with real human hair or premium synthetic hair.
High-end wigs are priced beyond C$3,000—sometimes, even reaching C$7,000! These are made with the most premium human hair, and they usually come with unique customizations.

Technically, Hair A La Mode by Mazal Hair Stylist is located all the way up in Thornhill, which is around a 40-minute drive from downtown Toronto. But I love it so much that I willingly take that drive every time.
I’m impressed with the array of wigs here: from the shortest pixie cuts to the long, flowy hair. They even have options like hair bangs, wigs attached to a hairband, hair toppers, ponytails with synthetic hair, and so many more. Of course, all these options come in different colours, too.
You can even customize any wig you choose!
The staff here is warm and accommodating, so if you’re new to the world of wigs, feel free to book a consultation with one of the experts and let them know what you’re looking for. This consultation can be done at the physical location, or you can do it via phone if you want. Oh, and it’s free!
This store also offers free pick-up and drop-off wig services, which can be very helpful when you’re in a pinch.
Plus, they also ship their products all over Canada and the US, which is super convenient. I can’t tell you how many times I ordered something from this shop while I was away at a convention somewhere.
Their wigs are on the higher end of the price range, though. I personally think the prices are justified, but others, especially those new to wigs, might find them off-putting.

I first learned about Continental Hair from a friend who has alopecia. Hearing her rave about this place got me interested, so I had to check it out. I ended up loving this place as well.
Right off the bat, I fell in love with this shop because of its extensive selection. Ready-made wigs are a dime a dozen here, and they come in a wide range of lengths, colours, and styles.
If none of these ready-made wigs call out to you, then you might be interested in ordering a custom-made one. Custom-made wigs here are hand-made by humans, not machines, which I appreciate. Additionally, I’ve noticed that they’re noticeably lighter and cooler than the machine-made wigs that I have.
In addition to wigs, you can also find other products, like hair extensions and hair toppers. They also have salon services if you want to get a haircut.
If you’re overwhelmed with all your options, you can consult one of the experts at the store. Everyone is ready to assist you, and you won’t have to pay a fee for this.
All in all, I can say that their wigs are an investment, and that means they’re really expensive; I think their cheapest starts at C$1,500. Fortunately, they do offer financing options through HealthSmart, so you can still buy your favourite luxury wig.

High-quality wigs with “custom made” feel
“I have a great deal of gratitude towards and appreciation for Michael, the Continental Hair team, and the quality wigs that they offer. Michael took my daughter under his wing when she was 4 years old and affected by alopecia universalis. Not only his wigs gave my daughter the hair that she could run her fingers through again, he helped her build her confidence and self esteem, which allowed her to find a way to define her beauty, with and without the wigs. As an active child, she wanted to spin, jump, bend, and do flips – all while wearing her hair. We did not think it would be possible without the wig falling off. Michael’s wigs made it possible! Hair and Wigs Company is an underrated spot on Danforth Avenue, and its very simple name doesn’t help. I actually only came upon this boutique on a whim, and since then, I’ve been a loyal patron.
I like how the wig makers here are obviously passionate about their craft. They only use premium materials (e.g., natural virgin Indian human hair for natural hair wigs) and put so much effort and care into every custom wig order, and it shows in the final product. The wigs I purchased here are luxuriously soft!
The pricing is also great here. I know I said earlier that I don’t really mind paying a hefty amount for a premium wig, but I admit that I can’t resist an amazing wig with a price tag in the hundreds, not thousands of Canadian dollars. That’s exactly what I get here; most of their wigs are somewhere in the C$200–C$900 range, which I greatly appreciate.
Another thing that I have to highlight about this company is the fact that their online shop works seamlessly. It’s open 24 hours, so you can purchase a brand new wig even if it’s late at night.
Oh, and they offer free shipping as well for orders beyond C$99! That’s a very convenient feature.
Just like other wig boutiques, Hair and Wigs Company Inc. offers consultation if you want an expert to help you out in creating or choosing the best wig for you. The only downside is that this isn’t free. It’s only about C$25, which isn’t too bad, but it does sting when you consider the fact that other shops offer this same service for free.

Paula’s Wig Boutique is a pretty well-known wig shop; not only does it have a storefront in Toronto, but it has outlets in Miami and New York as well! This shop is also the first wig shop I ever visited, and I still come here years later.
The wigs here are all made with human hair, so they’re super soft and durable.
Ready-made options are available, but if you have specific wants and needs, then you’ll be delighted to know they offer custom wigs as well.
It’s even possible for you to use your own hair! Many former clients I’ve interviewed shared that they’ve done this as soon as they learned they’re experiencing medical hair loss.
Another thing I love about this shop is that they offer wig salon services, especially repairs. This is such a convenient feature because wigs are usually expensive, and we don’t want to just chuck them out when they’re damaged. Thankfully, there are people at this shop who can fix my wigs for me.
Last but not least, Paula’s Wig Boutique offers a free consultation. This consultation is done inside a private room, so feel free to lay out all your concerns to the wig expert. They’ll do everything they can to make a wig that fits all your criteria.
The only thing that people might not like about this shop is the fact that they don’t offer synthetic wigs, which are usually cheaper than human hair wigs. I don’t mind this because I prefer human hair wigs anyway, but I know others have a different preference.

If I want to feel like a fashion model, then Wigs R Us Toronto is where I go to get my dream hair.
For starters, this shop offers a wide array of wigs and toppers—name a colour, certain style, or length, and someone here will whip out exactly what you need from their stock of ready-made wigs. And if there’s no ready-made wig that’s calling out to you, you can request a custom one!
To make a custom order, you have to book a consultation first, and don’t worry, this one’s free. During the consultation, you can let them know what you want, and then they’ll take custom measurements to make sure that the wig truly fits you. It’s such a thorough process!
This shop also offers maintenance services, which are always greatly appreciated. If your wig is losing its colour or it’s damaged, you can come here to have it repaired, touched up, and even styled again. By the end of the session, your wig will come out looking brand new.
The online shopping experience is also great; the website is clean and fast, and they employ fast shipping, so your wig can reach your door within 48 hours. The shipping isn’t free, but hey, at least it’s super fast.
If I have to pick a downside for this shop, I’ll have to say the price. The prices here are pretty high, and though I’m not surprised to see that because other shops offering premium wigs have the same price range, I know new people to wigs would be put off by them. So, keep that in mind if you’re interested in purchasing something here.
