To say I love local pizza is an understatement. I live and breathe pizza, and when it’s time to sleep, I dream of pizza! Okay, that might be a tad bit overdramatic, but the point is pizza is my favourite food, and I’ll eat it every chance I get.
During one of my recent pizza escapades, I noticed that many of my favourite pizza spots are actually in Scarborough. So, if you’re a fellow pizza lover who’s planning to visit the area, here’s what you knead to check out!

Fratelli Village Pizzeria
– From: fratellivillagepizzeria
Address: 384 Old Kingston Rd, Shops at Highlight Creek
Operating Hours:
- Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday—5 pm to 9 pm
- Friday and Saturday—5 pm to 10 pm
Contact Number: +14162832112
Fratelli Village Pizza is inspired by the classic pizza styles found in Italian villages, so their pizzas here look simple. But don’t let that look fool you because every slice is bursting with flavour.
They have so many pizza options here that I feel overwhelmed every time. The one I keep coming back to is Gaetano’s Pizza, which has hot sausage, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, and mozzarella. It’s tangy, salty, and spicy, with a hint of sweetness from the onions.
Pro Tip: It’s difficult to find parking here, so I don’t recommend driving. If you have to drive, there’s street parking, but it gets filled up pretty fast, so try visiting during off-peak hours (maybe later in the night). |
Big Brothers Gourmet Pizza
– From: bigbrothersgourmetpizza
Address: 3110 Kingston Rd
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Thursday—11 am to 10 pm
- Friday and Saturday—11 am to 11 pm
Contact Number: +16477852608
What I love about Big Brothers Gourmet Pizza is that their pizza flavours aren’t just the typical ones you see in other restaurants. They also have innovative flavours, ones you won’t normally expect.
For example, this restaurant has a butter chicken pizza, which also happens to be my favourite. It’s rich, buttery, and herby, and the green peppers pack a bit of heat in the end. I like to add even more shredded mozzarella to this pizza because the cheesiness makes it even better.
Pro Tip: You can create your own pizza here. This is your chance to go wild with the topping combinations. |
Pizza on Fire
– From: pizzaonfiregta
Address: 880 Ellesmere Rd Unit 10, Kennedy and Ellesmere Plaza
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday and Wednesday—11 am to 10 pm
- Thursday to Saturday—11 am to 11 pm
- Sunday—12 pm to 10 pm
Contact Number: +14164120011
Pizza on Fire is a lovely family-owned spot in Kennedy and Ellesmere Plaza, and the atmosphere here is warm and cozy. I love to come here when I feel stressed.
I recommend getting the Mediterranean pizza, which has sun-dried tomato, feta cheese, black olives, and baby spinach as toppings. Salty and tangy are the strongest flavours, but it also has a hint of earthiness.
Pro Tip: This restaurant offers catering services. If you’re interested, call them to ask for more information and book your date. |
Lamanna’s Bakery
– From: lamannabakery
Address: 6758 Kingston Rd
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday to Saturday—11 am to 5 pm
- Sunday—11 am to 3 pm
Contact Number: +14162872020
I first fell in love with Lamanna’s Bakery because of their delicious desserts. But this bakery also offers Sicilian-style pizzas, and they are just as amazing.
My go-to pizza is the cacio e pepe one. I’m surprised that this flavour, which I used to associate with pasta only, works with pizza. The sauce is creamy and peppery, and the parmesan adds salty and nutty undertones. This pizza also comes with di latte mozzarella, which makes it even creamier and cheesier.
Pro Tip: You can build your own custom pizza (both the round and big slice versions). This restaurant also offers pizza cake big slices, which are essentially sweet pizzas. |
Calabria Bakery
– From: yolacalabria
Address: 1772 Midland Ave
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday—8 am to 3 pm
- Saturday—8 am to 5 pm
Contact Number: +14167551175
Another bakery in Scarborough that also serves amazing pizza is Calabria Bakery.
My favourite from the menu is the Calabria Pizza, their signature pizza. It’s made with pancetta, jalapeño, and olives, so you can treat yourself to a savoury and spicy experience.
I also like that this pizza option has a thicker crust. It’s slightly crispy on the bottom, while the dough itself is fluffy and soft, creating a lovely texture contrast.
Pro Tip: Book this bakery’s catering services for your special event. Check their catering menu here. |
Mamajoun Pizzeria
– From: mamajoun.to
Address: 209 Ellesmere Rd #6
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday to Saturday—9 am to 7 pm
- Sunday—9 am to 3 pm
Contact Number: +16473505686
It’s hard to find Armenian-style pizza anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area, so when I discovered Mamajoun Pizza, I was thrilled.
The dough here is on the thinner side because they use a thin flatbread, and though I prefer a thicker crust, I like their version too. It allows for a crispy bottom, and I do love a good crunch.
My favourite flavour to get is the classic Armenian pizza, which is topped with tomato sauce, soujouk (Armenian sausage), beef spread mixture, onions, and cheese. It’s savoury and acidic, and the onions add a bit of sweetness.
Pro Tip: If you want to book a custom order for a party, you can reach out to the restaurant via phone or email ([email protected]). You can also fill out this contact form instead. |
Mario’s Pizza Kitchen
– From: mariopizzakitchen_
Address: 355 Pitfield Rd
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday—11:30 am to 11 pm
- Friday—11 am to 12 am
- Saturday—12 pm to 12 am
- 3 pm to 11 pm
Contact Number: +14162976262
Mario’s Pizza Kitchen is an underrated gem in Scarborough, and more people need to check it out. I know this place doesn’t seem much from the outside, but as the saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover.
One of the shop’s most popular pizzas is the chicken carbonara option, and it also happens to be my personal favourite. The sauce is super creamy and rich, and that pairs well with the earthy-savory notes of the toppings (mushrooms, grilled chicken, and bacon crumble).
Pro Tip: You can create your own pizza here. This is your chance to try experimenting with different toppings. |
Pizza Fiamma
– From: pizza.fiamma
Address: 1738 Lawrence Ave E
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Thursday—12 pm to 1 am
- Friday and Saturday—12 pm to 2 am
Contact Number: +16473413777
I first tried Pizza Fiamma when I was in Cambridge, so I was glad that it has a location in Scarborough!
My go-to order here is Hawaiian pizza (yes, I’m a pineapple-on-pizza defender). I love the savoury-sweet contrast from the bacon, ham, and pineapples; plus, the cheese makes everything even more indulgent and addictive.
The Canadian pizza is also great. Made with pepperoni, bacon, and mushroom, this one is saltier and savourier, with a hint of earthiness.
Pro Tip: This restaurant has pizza specials: pairs special (you can get two pizzas of the same size) and pizza wings combo (one pizza with dipping sauce and chicken wings). |
Mr. Singh’s Pizza Scarborough
– From: mrsinghspizzacanada
Address: 1780 Markham Rd
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 4 pm
Contact Number: +19055004000
Most pizzas served anywhere are loaded with meat, so vegetarians and vegans are left out. But with Mr. Singh’s Pizza, there’s no need to be left out anymore because this is a fully plant-based shop!
Even a meat lover like me can appreciate the pizzas here. My favourite is the Satvik pizza, which has olives, mushrooms, green peppers, and tomatoes, so every bite is a wonderful combination of salty, earthy, and spicy.
Pro Tip: This restaurant always has exclusive pizza offers and discounts. One that you should take advantage of is the IPL Deal, which lets you get a pizza (or multiple pizzas) with dips and drinks for a discounted price. |
Scaddabush Italian Kitchen and Bar Scarborough
– From: scaddabush
Address: 580 Progress Ave, Scarborough Town Center
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday—11:30 am to 10 pm
- Friday—11:30 am to 11:30 pm
- Saturday—12 pm to 11:30 pm
- Sunday—12 pm to 10 pm
Contact Number: +14162969697
I love Scaddabush Italian Kitchen for their pasta, but I have to admit that they serve superb pizzas as well. They only have a few flavour options, so I tend to order them in rotation.
My current obsession is The Butcher, which I think fellow meat lovers will enjoy. It has double-smoked bacon strips, fennel sausages, and pepperoni, so every bite is a savoury explosion. The pecorino also adds a salty, nutty kick that elevates the pizza.
Pro Tip: If you want to host an event here, fill out this form. |
Pizzeria Rustico
– From: pizzeriarustico.toronto
Address: 1430 Kingston Rd
Operating Hours: Monday to Saturday—5 pm to 10 pm
Contact Number: +14167878426
Pizzeria Rustico truly sticks to its name: the vibe here is rustic. Sometimes, I actually forget I’m dining in a restaurant because it feels like I’m just in a friend’s house, eating the pizza their grandparents made.
I really like the Primavera pizza. It almost tastes like a salad—perhaps because of the whole tomato, artichoke, and mushroom combination. It’s refreshing and earthy, and since it comes with roasted peppers, you can also taste a bit of smokiness and spice.
Pro Tip: If you want to host a private function here, call the restaurant to book. Keep in mind that private functions are hosted only on Sundays. |
Pizzally
– From: pizzally
Address: 4383 Kingston Rd
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Tuesday, Thursday—1 pm to 12 am
- Wednesday—12 pm to 12 am
- Friday and Saturday—1 pm to 1 am
Contact Number: +14164747777
Looking for a halal restaurant that serves top-notch pizzas? Scarborough’s got you covered with Pizzally!
I’m obsessed with the Sweet Heat Pizza, which has chipotle chicken, pineapples, green peppers, and hot banana peppers. It perfectly combines sweet and spicy flavours.
I also really like Steak Lovers. It’s savoury and juicy, thanks to the beef steak pieces, but it also has a lovely streak of earthy notes because of the mushrooms.
Pro Tips: Can’t choose just one topping? Then you might like the restaurant’s 3 Toppings Special. You can also create your own pizza here. |
Bilal Pizza
– From: halalfoodblogto
Address: 3218 Eglinton Ave E
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Thursday—10 am to 11 pm
- Friday and Saturday—10 am to 12 am
Contact Number: +14162666662
Another great halal pizza spot in Scarborough is Bilal Pizza.
I usually choose tandoori chicken as my topping because I love its smokiness and savouriness. Sometimes, I also add salami and beef sausage for extra savoriness.
Other toppings I include on my pizza are hot peppers (I love a good kick of spice), pineapples (a burst of sweetness is always welcome), and extra cheese (just because). With these toppings, my pizza ends up super filling, which is exactly what I want.
Pro Tip: Take advantage of the double deals; you can get two pizzas of the same size for one price! There’s also the dual pizza combo, which gives you two pizzas of the same size, 16 chicken wings, one garlic bread, and two dips. |
Pizza Land Halal
– From: pizzalandhalal
Address: 1801 Lawrence Ave E, #4 Dixie Land Plaza
Operating Hours: Wednesday to Monday—3 pm to 9 pm
Contact Number: +14167508111
What I like about Pizza Land Halal is their wide variety of pizza styles. You can find the classic flavour options here, but there are also Eastern-style pizzas. In fact, this shop offers pide, which is a Turkish flatbread that resembles a pizza.
I really like the Mexican pizza here. The sauce packs quite a spicy punch, and as if that’s not enough, the pizza is loaded with jalapeño peppers. It also has ground beef, black or green olives, and mozzarella cheese, so you can taste salty and savoury flavours as well.
Pro Tip: This restaurant has special combos! Combos 1, 2, and 3 let you order one or two pizzas with wings, fries, and more. |
Bismillah Pizza
– From: bismillahpizza
Address: 3160 Eglinton Ave E
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—10 am to 12 am
Contact Number: +14162697777
Bismillah Pizza has been a Scarborough staple since 1988, and for me, that’s enough proof that it’s a place worth visiting.
This pizza spot lets you pick your own toppings, and I usually go crazy with tandoori chicken, salami, black olives, and jalapeños because I love a salty-savoury-spicy flavour combo.
If I want a hint of sweetness, I also add pineapples and sweet corn (yes, sweet corn—it works on a pizza, surprisingly enough).
Pro Tip: If you’re planning an event, you can book their catering services. |
Popular Pizza
– From: popularpizza
Address: 41 Lebovic Ave Unit A113
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Thursday—11 am to 1 am
- Friday and Saturday—11 am to 3 am
Contact Number: +14167597666
Despite its name, Popular Pizza is more of a hidden gem in Scarborough. It definitely deserves to be popular, though, so I can’t say that the name is wrong.
Since I get to pick my sauce and toppings for pizza, I go all out with my combination. So far, the combo I’m currently obsessed with is garlic sauce for the base, jerk chicken, hot Italian sausages, and jalapeño peppers. This pizza is so savoury, spicy, and earthy that it feels like my taste buds are singing with every bite.
Sometimes, if I want it to be extra indulgent, I order butter chicken gravy that I use as a pizza dip.
Pro Tip: You can book their catering services for business and school events. |
Al Madina Halal Pizza and Bakery
– From: almadina.halal.pizza
Address: 2683 Lawrence Ave E
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—12 am to 6:30 am, 11:30 am to 12 am
Contact Number: +14162855553
I’ve always loved coming to Al Madina Halal Pizza and Bakery because of how chill and cozy the vibe is. The food is great, of course, or it wouldn’t be on this list.
My favourite topping combo here is chicken, dried chilli peppers, and mushrooms; the savoury, earthy, and spicy flavours delightfully dance on my taste buds. I also add extra cheese because I can’t resist a good cheese pull.
Pro Tip: This spot doesn’t have any tables inside, so you can’t dine in. There’s a free parking lot, so you can drive here and eat your fresh pizza inside your car. |
