Keep your senses in peak form with the help of the best ENT specialists in Toronto

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

One of the strangest things I’ve felt is this sudden mild pain and ringing in my ears. As someone who loves playing the piano occasionally, these moments used to freak me out!

Not wanting to leave this issue up to chance, I immediately got in touch with an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist. Their assistance was much appreciated, and I was able to see a noticeable improvement within just a couple of visits.

If you’re suffering from similar issues, let’s hope you too can resolve them quickly after visiting one of these specialists in Toronto!

How much does it cost to see an ENT specialist in Toronto?

If you have Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) coverage, visits to an ENT specialist in Toronto are typically covered, meaning you won’t have to pay out-of-pocket for the consultation itself.

However, if you don’t have OHIP coverage, you can expect to pay $225 for a consultation.

How We Chose

Experience and credentials – We picked certified ENT specialists who have at least three years of professional experience.
Specialisation – We also chose different ENT specialists with specialisations in various fields, like laryngology, rhinology, and otology.
Accessibility – We checked whether their clinics are near major roads and public transit stations. We also looked at whether they’re available on most days of the week.
Professionalism – We evaluated whether they’re always on time for their appointments and treat patients respectfully. We also assessed whether they respond quickly to enquiries.
Price fairness – We also considered whether their prices are fair based on their track record, facilities, equipment, and specialisations covered.

The Voice Clinic is a renowned ENT clinic started in 2012 by Aaron Low. While their main specialty is in resolving vocal illness, their in-house ENT specialist, Dr. Alex Osborn, can also treat issues found in the ears and nose.

Some of the common issues they can treat are allergies, hearing disorders, and smelling problems. They approach these with a combination of medication, surgeries, and speech therapies.

Speaking of surgeries, it’s cool to learn that they feature a couple of specialised surgeries, like their laser tonsillectomy. It’s a procedure that can reduce the size of your tonsils without having to rely on anaesthesia and invasive surgery.

Aside from treating ENT problems, this clinic also offers voice workshop packages to help singers and public speakers maintain their voices properly.

Sadly, not everything is great about them, as some former patients encountered rude behaviour from their staff.

Pros

  • 12 years of experience
  • Has laser tonsillectomy
  • Offers voice workshop packages

Cons

  • Some rude staff
  • Unavailable on weekends

I feel extremely lucky to have Dr. Osborn as part of my medical team

“I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Osborn! I found him very easy to talk to, he’s a great listener and the wait time to get an appointment was really quick compared to other clinics. Dr. Osborn set me up with some CT scans to get to the root of the problem. We had a phone follow up once my results were back and provided clear guidance on my situation and what could be done to help fix my issue, including a surgical procedure should I choose to go that way. I feel extremely lucky to have Dr. Osborn as part of my medical team. Also, Katina is extremely quick to respond to emails. She even contacted me over the Easter long weekend to set up my phone consultation with Dr. Osborn! Definitely worth the drive to Toronto!”

“Dr. Alex Osborn is an exceptional doctor and has a friendly demeanor, especially with children. He’s not only an attentive listener, but his patience and understanding create a comforting environment addressing our concerns about our son. His promising approach left us fully satisfied after our consultation. I highly recommend him.

The office manager Katina is truly outstanding, she’s prompt in response, and easy to talk with.”

One of the best things about Dr. Fernandes is his expertise in various fields of otolaryngology. While he’s popular for his general ENT services, his real specialty is in performing surgeries for the head, neck, and thyroid.

That’s why if you have any issues like thyroid cancer, neck cancer, or goitre, Dr. Fernandes is ready to help.

It’s also worth mentioning that he offers a rich variety of audiological services like comprehensive hearing evaluations, management of tinnitus, and fitting of hearing aids.

However, a downside that comes with him being based in Scarborough is that he’s a bit less accessible for those living in Toronto’s western suburbs.

  • 9 years of experience
  • Offers head and neck surgeries
  • Specialises in thyroid surgery
  • Wide variety of audiological services

Cons

  • A bit far from Toronto’s western suburbs

Dr Fernandez is one of the best doctors I’ve met

“Dr Fernandez is one of the best doctors I’ve met. He was patient and communicative all throughout my father’s parathyroid and thyroid cancer treatment. Airway ENT & Oral Surgery is another amazing clinic for ENT and oral surgery needs. That’s because they’re a provider of a wide range of services, from hearing tests to obstructive sleep apnea treatment.

The thing that makes many of their services possible, especially the ones in need of precision, is their advanced CT-based 3D treatment. They also have a highly experienced ENT specialist on their team, Dr. Majestic Tam, who ensures every treatment is carried out carefully.

Aside from their staff and equipment, I’m also a huge fan of their medical record consolidation and treatment planning services. This is a huge help, as it can gather and organise all your medical records from various clinicians and health professionals you’ve seen before.

Sadly, it can be a bit hard to secure an appointment here, as they tend to get fully booked quickly.

Pros

  • Has advanced CT-based 3D treatments
  • Offers medical record consolidation services
  • Easily accessible location
  • Wide range of services

Cons

  • Tends to get fully booked quickly
  • Unavailable on Mondays and weekends

Very honest and knowledgeable service

“Very honest and knowledgeable service. I had a consultation for my TMJ with Tony. He gave me great exercises to relax my jaw, and told me that it wasn’t necessary for me to come for more sessions.”

I received outstanding treatment from the entire team

“I received outstanding treatment from the entire team including Dr Virginia Lee and Dr Bingeleine. Also the reception staff on every one of my visits have been super friendly, professional and efficient. I was treated for fairly severe sleep apnea with an oral appliance and we are all super pleased at how well it works, as seen in my latest sleep study.”

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is one of the more advanced medical institutions I’ve added to this list. Founded in 1948, they boast a vast range of medical services, including ENT treatments.

Currently under the leadership of Dr. Danny J. Enepekides, their ENT department can treat illnesses like meningioma, acoustic neuroma, and encephalocele. This is made possible thanks to their high-tech treatments like linear accelerated fractionated radiotherapy.

This specific treatment involves delivering precise doses of radiation to target tumours while minimising damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

Another thing I love about this hospital is its sudden hearing loss clinic, as it allows them to respond to emergency cases if needed. Furthermore, they also offer other helpful services like cochlear implants and hearing assessments.

Sadly, accessing these amazing services can be a bit hard due to the long waiting lines this hospital regularly faces.

Pros

  • 6 years of experience
  • Has a sudden hearing loss clinic
  • Can perform advanced treatments
  • State-of-the-art facilities

Cons

  • Long waiting lines
  • Sometimes cancels appointments abruptly

I visited Sunnybrook hospital several times recently and they were amazing

“I visited Sunnybrook hospital several times recently and they were amazing. In particular today I had Echo done by Babak who was so kind and professional and gentle as he had to get IV line for special monitoring which resulted showing his great teamwork as he called his colleague to operate another device while he did echo again.

Kudus to Banak, Dr Reiter, Rosanne and the whole team and management orchestrating a healing symphony of care.”

The BEST HOSPITAL in Toronto

“If I could give 10 stars out of 5, I would! The BEST HOSPITAL in Toronto. Their staff, Doctors, Nurses are all knowledgeable. Very well trained and always makes sure you have been properly diagnosed before you leave. My family and I have been to the ER a couple of times and we always go home very satisfied by the care and treatment they give. There was a time we went first to a different hospital, they misdiagnosed it and when we went to Sunnybrook, 3 specialists came to look at a rare condition and they were able to diagnose it right away and get it treated.

Definitely worthy of being the Trauma Centre in Toronto. Research does go a long way. Keep up the good work!!!”
