When I was a child, I was given the moniker “Cookie Monster” by my family because I devoured any cookie I saw. Now, as an adult, I’m not as feral anymore, but I still love cookies with all my heart and buy them regularly.
Luckily for me, the bakeries in Toronto are here to deliver. If you’re a cookie monster like me, I recommend checking these out!

Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday—8 am to 5 pm
- Friday—8 am to 4 pm
- Sunday—12 to 5 pm

Sometimes simplicity is key, and that’s what Sweet Flour Bakeshop is all about. This bakery just wants to deliver simple sweet moments, so it feels like you’re eating a confectionery made lovingly by your grandparents.
I usually get the gourmet selection because it has my favorites (the luxurious chocolate chip and double chocolate). I love that the cookies here are perfectly crispy on the outside but soft and chewy inside. And oh, the chocolate! It just oozes out!
Pro Tips: You can customize cookies here for special events and other occasions. If you want to bake or decorate your own cookie but don’t know where to start, you can buy a DIY kit from the shop. |
Courage Cookies
– From: melissa_foodie.fun
Address: 28 Bathurst St, #1-104 Stackt Market
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday to Thursday, Sunday—12 to 8 pm
- Friday and Saturday—12 to 10 pm
Contact Number: +14372478992
Courage Cookies was born during the COVID-19 lockdown after the owners were laid off from work, and now, years later, the bakery is still thriving. It’s not surprising because the cookies here are fantastic!
What I love about this bakery is that the list of flavors is ever-growing. I think they have about 30 options, and there’s still more to come!
My favorite thing to get is the triple Belgian chocolate with sea salt because it’s so indulgent. I also recommend the coconut and mascarpone stuffed matcha cookie because it’s creamy and not that sweet.
Pro Tip: You can book this bakery for special events catering. |
Biscotteria Forno Cultura

Address: 55 Front St W, Union Station
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday—7:30 am to 7 pm
- Saturday—9 am to 4 pm
Contact Number: +14162145656
I already love Forno Cultura for its freshly baked Italian bread, but when I heard it has another bakery dedicated to cookies, I couldn’t help but love it even more.
My ultimate recommendation is the Amaretti Morbidi, which is a cookie so soft and chewy that it practically crumbles in my mouth. Then the filling oozes out, treating my taste buds to a decadent sweetness. I usually choose the pistachio flavor, but hazelnut is great as well.

Midnight Cookie
– From: midnightcookie.to
Address: 3 Manor Rd E
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday to Thursday—3 pm to 2 am
- Friday—3 pm to 3 am
- Saturday—2 pm to 3 am
- Sunday—2 pm to 12 am
Contact Number: +16473489852
Midnight Cookie is another bakery that came about during the COVID-19 lockdown, and it’s one I actually got to try the moment it first opened. Since then, this is my go-to spot when I’m craving cookies late at night because it’s open until 2 or 3 am.
As a chocolate fiend, my favorite flavor is the Chocolate Chunk, but I also like Cookies N Creme because it has an extra crunchy texture, thanks to all the crushed cookies. When it’s Halloween season, I go for the pumpkin cheesecake because it’s on theme.

Craig’s Cookies
– From: craigscookies
Address: 483 Church St
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—10 am to 10 pm
Contact Number: +14165195336
What makes Craig’s Cookies stand out is its variety. Currently, the bakery has over 100 cookie flavors, and that number continues to go up. That’s why I always feel so
overwhelmed every time I come here because I want to try as many as possible!
I love the strawberries and cream cookie because it perfectly balances the sweet and tangy flavors. If I’m craving something indulgent, I order the Ferrero Rocher cookies, which are so chocolatey and sweet. It’s also very nutty, which is a bonus for me.
Pro Tip: You can order custom cookies here for special events like weddings and birthdays. |
Andrea’s Cookies
– From: andreascookies
Address: 1632 Bloor St W
Operating Hours: Wednesday to Saturday—11 am to 6 pm
Andrea’s Cookies is an underrated spot on Bloor Street. The main thing I love about this bakery is that the roster of flavors changes often, so I never know what to expect and I’ll get to try different flavors every week.
That said, I do have my preferences. So far, I really love the cookie butter cookie because it’s so sweet without being sickening. The coconut cream pie cookie is also a great choice; it has a crunchy texture thanks to all the shredded coconut flakes.
Pro Tip: If you’re planning large order requests for special events, send an email to [email protected]. |
Foxies Bakeshop
– From: foxiesbakeshop
Address: 669 Mt Pleasant Rd
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday and Sunday—11 am to 4 pm
- Wednesday to Friday—11 am to 5:45 pm
- Saturday—10 am to 5:45 pm
Contact Number: +14164886667
If sugary indulgence is what you’re after, stop by Foxies Bakeshop. Every time I come here, I swear it always feels like I’m going into a cookie-induced coma!
The cookies at this bakery are stuffed, so they’re pretty hefty (not to mention, double the sweetness). My favorite thing to order is the Cookies and Cream Extreme. It has a chocolate sugar dough, and it’s filled with crushed Oreos and chocolate chips. Extreme, indeed!
Pro Tips: You can create your own assorted box of cookies. Order cookies from this bakery for your special event. You can choose any of the established flavors, or you can request custom cookies. |
The Night Baker
– From: thenightbakerto
Address: 825 College St
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday to Saturday—12 to 10 pm
- Sunday—12 to 8 pm
Contact Number: +14169015590
I was intrigued to check out The Night Baker when I learned that it was founded by two chemists who became bakers. Plus, the cookies are inspired by Filipino flavors, and I do love Filipino desserts.
The one cookie I keep coming back for is Ooh Bae, which is an ube cheesecake cookie with ube jam filling. It’s almost like a brownie considering how fudgy it is, and I love that the sweetness isn’t overpowering. It also has tangy and nutty undertones that I like.
Pro Tips: You can give a fellow cookie lover a gift card from this bakery. If you’re interested in ordering custom cookies, you can send an inquiry to [email protected]. |
Golden Crumb Cookies
– From: goldencrumbbiscuit
Address: 16 Mallard Rd, North York
Operating Hours:
- Wednesday and Thursday—12 pm to 1 am
- Friday—12 to 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm to 2 am
- Saturday—2 pm to 2 am
- Sunday—3 pm to 1 am
Contact Number: +14372650414
Tired of small cookies? Then you’ll love Golden Crumb Cookies because the cookies here are insanely jumbo-sized!
I love getting the red velvet Nutella cookies because they’re so dense and chocolatey. The dulce de leche cookies are also pretty decadent. The dulce de leche topping is super sweet, while the cookie base is perfectly crumbly.
When I’m in the mood to splurge, I even get The Showstopper, which is basically a cookie cake. I choose Ferrero Rocher and crushed Biscoff for the ultimate indulgence.
Pro Tips: You’ll get 10% off your first order when you buy from the website. You can book the bakery’s catering services for special events. These include ice cream cookies, a sandwich bar, and more. |
Rachel’s Cookies
– From: rachels.cookies
Address: 650 Briar Hill Ave
Operating Hours: Wednesday, Friday to Monday—9 am to 5 pm
Contact Number: +16473033334
The cookies at Rachel’s Cookies are absolutely chunky. In fact, they usually weigh a quarter pound! They’re perfect for sharing (or you can devour them by yourself—I won’t judge!).
The Give Me S’more has to be my favorite cookie flavor so far. They used browned butter in the dough, so the cookie has a slightly nutty flavor to it. But with all the toppings (honey grahams, marshmallows, chocolates, and more), every bite is a sugary explosion!
Pro Tip: Since this is a small business, they’re only baking cookies in small batches. To ensure you’ll get the cookie(s) you want, I recommend sending out an order form ahead of time. |
Breadhead
– From: breadheadyyz
Address: 346 Westmoreland Ave N Unit 105C, The Artisan Factory
Operating Hours: Wednesday to Saturday—10 am to 2 pm
Technically, Breadhead is best known for its, well, bread, but for me, the stars of the show are the cookies.
The owner of the shop uses flavor combinations that are mostly unheard of, but they actually taste great! One such example is the miso chocolate chip cookie. I didn’t think miso paste and chocolate could work well together, but I’m happy to be proven wrong!
I also like their celebratory cookies, especially during Easter, because they’re so vibrant and colorful!
Pro Tip: Breadhead has partnered with several other businesses like The Drake Cafe and Reunion Island Coffee, so you might be able to come across some of their products there. |
Coco’s
– From: cocos.to
Address: 668 College St
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Wednesday—8 am to 3 pm
- Thursday to Sunday—8 am to 5 pm
Coco’s is actually a cozy coffee shop in Toronto’s East End, and though coffee is the highlight here, I’ve also come to love their cookies as well.
You most likely will get a chocolate chip cookie because that’s what the shop has an abundance of. I don’t mind because chocolate chip is a classic flavor, plus the cookies here are massive and hefty. I actually feel full after eating just one cookie!
If you’re lucky, you might be able to snag a cookie box filled with assorted goodies. The flavors change every time, so you don’t know what you’re going to get!
Barbershop Patisserie
– From: barbershoppatisserie
Address: 859 College St
Operating Hours: Wednesday to Sunday—9 am to 5 pm
Located in Toronto’s West End, Barbershop Patisserie specializes in European-style patisserie that looks so good you can’t help but snap a picture before taking a bite!
The chocolate chip cookies here tend to be thin, which allows for the bottom to get so crispy and the chocolate chunks to melt well. The middle is also extremely chewy! This is the kind of cookie I’d like to dunk on warm milk before I go to bed.
Pro Tip: If you have a loved one who’s as obsessed with cookies as you, give them a gift card from this bakery. |
Bakerbots Baking
– From: bakerbots_baking
Address: 1242 Bloor St W
Operating Hours: Tuesday to Sunday—10 am to 9 pm
Contact Number: +14169013500
BakerBots Baking is a charming shop in the heart of Toronto that’s best known for its creative flavor combinations and beautifully crafted pastries.
I’m quite fond of their Everything Cookie, which, as the name suggests, has everything in it: chocolate, peanut butter, oatmeal, and even pretzels. Despite all these ingredients, the flavors aren’t overwhelming, and I love that the cookie is still chewy and crispy.
If you love ice cream as well, I recommend transforming your cookie into an ice cream sandwich. I usually pair my cookie with the fresh mint ice cream (yes, I’m a fresh mint ice cream defender!).
Pro Tips: You can book custom orders for special events via phone call. Keep in mind that cash payment isn’t accepted here. You have to bring your credit card. |
Becked Goods
– From: beckedgoods
Address: 684 St Clair Ave W and Humewood Dr, Jug Town
Operating Hours:
- Wednesday to Saturday—9 am to 5 pm
- Sunday—10 am to 3 pm
Contact Number: +16473489888
I admit: it’s kind of hard to locate Becked Goods at first because it’s tucked away in a corner. But once I found it, I’ve been coming back several times just to stock up on the cookies.
I tend to get the ginger molasses cookie because it smells and tastes like Christmas, which also happens to be my favorite holiday. The s’mores cookie is another I love. It’s the kind of treat I like to reserve for rainy days because it never fails to uplift my spirits.
Pro Tip: You can hire Becked Goods as the caterer for your special event. |
Noctua Bakery
– From: noctuabakery
Address: 3014 Dundas St W
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Tuesday—8 am to 6 pm
- Wednesday to Saturday—8 am to 8 pm
Contact Number: +14167662178
Noctua Bakery is a bakery taken straight out of a fairy tale. The vibes here are laid-back and whimsical, and the display of pastries always looks so good.
I recommend getting the double chocolate espresso. Its flavor profile is bittersweet.
If you prefer something slightly healthier, get the oatmeal cranberry. This one isn’t too sweet, and you can also taste a slight tartiness because of the cranberry chunks.
Pro Tip: If you’re interested in booking their catering services, send an inquiry to [email protected]. |
Robyn’s Cookies
– From: robynscookies
Address: 953 Mt Pleasant Rd
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday—10 am to 5 pm
- Saturday—9 am to 4 pm
Contact Number: +16473414151
If you’re on a diet or you’re just looking out for your health, then Robyn’s Cookies is for you. This shop is all about serving cookies that don’t have as much sugar as your typical cookie and use only natural ingredients!
I usually go for the oatmeal cookie with cranberry and white chocolate because I love the crunchy texture and the delicate sweetness.
Another one that I highly recommend is the lemon sugar cookie. It’s light—almost like a pillow, but in cookie form—and tart with a sprinkle of sugary goodness.
Pro Tip: This shop also sells tea, so you might want to pair your cookie with your favorite tea drink. |
