A State-of-the-art Arena for Sports and Live Entertainment
Conveniently located right in the heart of Toronto, the Air Canada Centre is a multipurpose indoor complex and a venue for some of Toronto's foremost sports events and bigwig concerts.
Also known as the ACC or the Hangar, it is a Canada's top sporting arena and home of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors and Toronto Rock.
You can enjoy exciting hockey or basketball games from October through April at the Air Canada Centre, while music buffs rush here for packed out concerts and live performances throughout the year.
First opened in 1999, the ACC replaced the Maple Leaf Garden, which housed Toronto Maple Leafs since 1931. As a result, the passionate Maple Leafs fans were greatly disappointed.
But with 665,000 square feet of sports and entertainment space equipped with state-of-the-art BOSE sound system and a multi-million dollar, 17-screen high-definition video scoreboard, Air Canada Centre soon became the Mecca for best in live entertainment.
The centre was designed with spectators' comfort in mind. The seats are large and comfortable. You can get great view of the action in middle from anywhere in the stadium.
Almost 640 television screens are installed throughout the concourses and washrooms so fans don't miss a second of the action.
If you have fat pocket, you can enjoy all the luxury of Club seats, Platinum lounges, Executive suites, Theatre suites and Loge suites.
The Air Canada Centre boasts top-notch media centre providing up-to-date sports and news information. There is a giant screen outside the arena which displays a live stream of the action from inside the arena.

Air Canada Centre - Sports Events
It is the home of several professional leagues including the Toronto Maple Leafs (National Hockey League - NHL), the Toronto Raptors (National Basketball Association - NBA), and the Toronto Rock (National Lacrosse League - NLL).
The Toronto Maple Leafs played their first home game on February 20, 1999 against archrival Montreal Canadiens. Since then, it has witnessed lots of action-packed, nail-biting hockey games including 2000 NHL All-Star Game and the final of the 2004 World Cup of Hockey between Canada and Finland.
The first NBA game took place between Toronto Raptor and Vancouver Grizzlies on February 21, 1999. While the Toronto Rock began their campaign with a win over Ottawa Rebel on December 21, 2000.
The Centre is also the place of many World Wrestling Entertainment events over the years.
The Centre has seating capacity of 19,800 for basketball game and 18,800 for hockey game. And it takes 4-6 hours to transform basketball court to ice rink and vice versa.

Information Kiosk is located on west end of the complex, just below the big screen near Maple Leaf Square.
Air Canada Centre - Food and Beverages
At the ACC, you'll find a wide array of cuisine reflecting the multicultural flavour of Toronto. I can say that it has one of the most diverse food and beverages collection at any sports venue in entire Canada.
There are a ton of concession stands, restaurants and stalls including Pizza Pizza, Mr. Sub, Tim Hortons, Burkie's Hot Dogs, sushi, fries, burgers, popcorn, cotton candy and many more.
You can also enjoy beer at two bars and there is an in-house Molson Coors Brewery serving freshly brewed beer.
But as with other major sport venues, you have to pay ridiculously high price for food and beer.
Air Canada Centre - Tourist Information
Location: 40 Bay Street, Toronto, M5J 2X2
Transit and Driving Directions:
Take the Yonge-University-Spadina Subway to the Union Station in downtown Toronto. The Air Canada Centre is directly connected to the Union Station by tunnel.
Hop the GO Transit train or bus to the Union Station in downtown Toronto. The Air Canada Centre is directly connected to the Union Station by tunnel.
From the South or West - Follow the QEW into Toronto, where it turns into the Gardiner Expressway. Take the exit toward Bay Street N and then merge onto Harbour St/Lake Shore Blvd E. Turn left onto Bay Street. The ACC is just 2 blocks north.
From the East - Take Highway 401 into Toronto and exit onto the Don Valley Parkway Southbound. As you approach Downtown, Don Valley Pkwy becomes the Gardiner Expressway West. Exit the Gardiner Expressway West at Yonge Street. Follow the signs to go onto Lakeshore Blvd East. Then, turn right onto Bay Street. Drive 2 blocks north and the ACC is on your left side.
From the North - Take Highway 400 into Toronto, exiting onto Highway 401 West. Continue until you reach Highway 427 southbound. Follow Highway 427 to downtown via the QEW/Gardiner Expressway. Take the exit toward Bay Street N and then merge onto Harbour St/Lake Shore Blvd E. Turn left onto Bay Street. The ACC is just 2 blocks north.
Parking: There are ample parking spaces within immediate walking distance of the arena.
