Watching sports at home is fun and all, but you know what makes the experience even better? It’s watching sports in a bar with like-minded folks. The vibrant energy inside the bar always pumps me up, and I also get to treat myself to delicious food while cheering.
Because of this, I’ve made it a habit to go to a sports bar whenever possible. And since I’m a fan of many sports (baseball, football, and basketball), I’ve already visited a good number of sports bars in Toronto.

Address: 395 Keele St
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—12 pm to 2 am
Contact Number: +14167600101
The Draft Room is an underrated sports bar on Keele Street. It’s frequented mostly by locals, and the atmosphere is usually chill and casual, even during sports events (usually UFC).
It also helps that the food is delicious. I always treat myself to the butter chicken poutine because it’s so rich, salty, and savory. If I’m craving something more filling, I usually order the steak, which is served with mashed potatoes (or fries) and vegetables.
For drinks, they have popular cocktails and several well-known beer brands on tap.
Pro Tip: This bar has daily specials that are available only for dine-in. |

Amigos da Dundas Sports Bar brings Portuguese hospitality to Toronto, so expect to find an infectious energy when visiting. It’s even more infectious during football screenings; everyone is wearing their team’s merch and screaming at the large screen!
The food menu is pretty small, and it’s mostly filled with finger foods. Still, it’s definitely thrilling to eat chicken wings, chorizo, and crispy fries while watching the event. They also have steak and egg here if you’re feeling fancy.

Located in Toronto’s Canary District, The Aviary is a bird-themed bar where locals come to gather. Usually, they come here to celebrate milestones, but other times, they congregate to watch all kinds of sports matches.
This bar is best known for its fried chicken dishes. My favorite so far is The Hot Canary, a chicken sandwich with pickled jalapeños and lots of hot sauce. It packs quite a punch, which I wash down with a pint (or two) of draft beer.

What I love about Hoops Sports Bar and Grill is that it holds screenings for events in various sports, such as major league sports, international football, and UFC. Pay-per-view events are sometimes held here as well, which I appreciate.
The bar is well furnished as well. There’s a massive 126-inch plasma TV in front, and several other TVs are located throughout the bar. There are even private booths with their own TV if you prefer privacy.
As for the food, you can expect to find many options. I love getting the chicken wings with the lemon pepper flavor (I love the sour-peppery combination), a whole pizza (the all-meat flavor is a must-try), and a pint of cold beer.

There’s always something fun happening at The Dock Ellis. You can watch a match of the Arsenal Games, F1 Races, and more, or you can play games like foosball, darts, and pinball with your friends.
I sometimes come here around brunch time, so I always get the Classic Breakfast, which is their take on a traditional English breakfast. It’s jam-packed with all the good stuff—eggs, bacon, and vegetables—so I’m always full and satisfied afterward.

The food here is pretty unique; everything is a Caesar drink topped with different snacks! My favorite to get is The Checkmate Caesar. It has everything I want—burgers, fried chicken, and chicken wings. It even comes with brownies for dessert as well!

Owned by a former HNL hockey player, The Bottom Line is the best place to go to watch a hockey game. There are 52 large-screen TVs inside, so no matter where you sit, your view won’t be blocked.
I love eating the stuffed chicken while watching the game. The chicken breast is so juicy, and the stuffing is just oozing with cheese and bursting with tangy-garlicky flavors. The dish is also served with lemon-scented rice and white wine cream sauce. Yum!
Pro Tip: I recommend coming here via public transportation because it’s difficult to find parking here. |

I usually come here with friends, so I always get good-for-sharing dishes. Our go-to choice is the Mountain Stacked Nachos because it’s undeniably stacked with all our favorite toppings. Loaded fries is another one we like.
For my drinks, I order Purple Raptor, my favorite cocktail so far. It’s sweet and sour and doesn’t taste like an alcoholic drink at all.
Pro Tip: Sometimes there are special promotions here like discounts and limited-time meals! |

I first heard about Brazen Head as a recommendation for brunch, and though I love it as a brunch spot, learning that it also hosts watch parties for soccer matches seals the deal for me. Now, I’m a returning patron, together with my friends!
I’m a big fan of the fish and chips here. It’s a comforting meal for me, and it also tastes delicious—perfectly salty, with subtle sour notes from the lemon.
I usually pair my order with any of the in-house cocktails. So far, I love the Irish espresso martini. I actually keep forgetting that it has alcohol because it tastes genuinely like coffee.

Hurricanes Roadhouse Restaurant is more than just a bar where you watch the latest hockey match and cheer on your favorite team. It’s also a place to make friends.
The menu is filled with classic pub fare. I recommend the pizza rolls, which are essentially egg rolls filled with pizza toppings (pepperoni and mozzarella). I also love the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich because every bite is an explosion of flavors.
To wash it all down, order a pint from any of the beers available on tap.

What’s great about Shoxs is that it has arcade machines, billiard tables, and televisions everywhere inside. So you can watch the latest sports match while playing a round of pool or an arcade game with your friends.
As for the food, I recommend ordering the classic mac and cheese. The cheese sauce is perfectly creamy and salty, and the baked panko crumbs add a nice texture.
The Lo-Burger is another great dish to eat here. It has double patties, so you’ll definitely feel full afterward. You might also feel your heart constrict because of all the cholesterol, but it’s okay. We’re here for a good time!

You can also enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet if you come here early enough. This buffet is filled with amazing options, such as bacon, breakfast potatoes, and charcuterie.
If you can’t come during breakfast, get the classic pub fare like the chicken wings (my favorite flavor is chipotle pineapple because it’s sweet and spicy) and nachos that are topped with cheddar, mozzarella, pico de gallo, and more.
Pro Tip: Since Rogers Center is the home to the Toronto Blue Jays, the bar gets packed during Jays Game Day. Book your spot as early as possible, especially if you want the window seats! |

The Dizzy Pub is great because it has such an old-school charm that I find endearing. The dishes served here are also comforting and delicious. I feel right at home here.
The chicken tequila pasta has to be my favorite dish here. The sauce is creamy and tangy with a strong kick of spice, and the grilled chicken adds a lovely charred flavor to the dish.
Of course, wings are a must-have for any game screening. You have many flavor options to choose from; my favorite is the sweet Thai chili (can’t resist the sweet and spicy combination).

I love getting the shepherd’s pie because it reminds me of home. The filling is made of ground beef, corn carrots, and onions, and it’s well-seasoned. So salty and savory!
If you love desserts, the homemade apple crumble is a must-try! It’s sweet and even a little bit spicy.

I love getting the steak dinner here because it’s big enough to fill my stomach (10 oz). Plus, it’s served with thick fries and seasonal veggies, making it a well-rounded meal.
When I’m with friends, I order the Players Platter as well. It’s filled with my favorite snacks (chicken tenders, wings, spring rolls, mozzarella sticks, and fries), making it the perfect dish to share with the group.
