Miguel Hortiguela was the guy who helped me shoot some awesome photos. He’s been doing this for over 20 years, and it really shows. The whole shoot was so relaxed that even I, someone who’s usually awkward in front of a camera, felt at ease.
What I like most is his versatility, as he can cover headshots, family portraits, architecture, and even dating profile pics (which, yes, totally worked for me). Furthermore, he can travel for shoots thanks to his Canadian and EU passports.
Oh, and he also offers photo archive management. I didn’t use this myself, but if you’ve got a mountain of digital photos you don’t know what to do with, he might be able to help.
One thing to keep in mind is that he’s a one-man operation, so big projects might take a little longer.

Citywide Studio Photography is a spot I recommend if you need pro photos without the usual hassle. They offer unlimited time for photo shoots, so you can take your time and get comfortable.
Furthermore, they throw in free consultations, which is quite helpful if you’re not sure how to pose or what looks best on camera.
Their specialties include LinkedIn and actor headshots, both polished and professional, starting at $80. They can even do same-day delivery of your photos for a small extra fee, so you won’t need to wait around while they process your shots.
On the downside, they sometimes cancel appointments at the last minute. Also, their base fees only cover unedited photos. If you want them professionally retouched, that’ll cost extra.

One thing I found really cool is their luxury wardrobe, especially their gorgeous maternity gowns. These clothes are included in the photo packages, so you don’t have to stress about finding the perfect outfit.
Their magazine-style editing is another highlight; if you’ve ever dreamed of a Vogue or Time-worthy shot, they can make it happen. Plus, the cost of prints is already part of the package, so no surprise extras.
Just keep in mind it takes three weeks to get your photos back, and they only take payments through e-transfer options like Zelle or PayPal.

Mango Studios has been part of Toronto’s photography scene since 2004 and has earned recognition as one of the city’s top wedding photographers by publications like Toronto Life. What I like about them is their versatility; they cover weddings, family portraits, and even corporate headshots.
Their team of 17 photographers (yes, 17!) is skilled at capturing cultural weddings, be they Indian, Jewish, or Greek Orthodox ceremonies. They can handle destination weddings too if you’re going with that.
By the way, they also do bar and bat mitzvahs, which is good if you’re looking to capture those huge family milestones.
That said, they’re on the pricier side, so they might not be for everyone. Also, they take up to eight weeks to deliver your photos, so patience is a must.
