The Best Oil Change Shops in Toronto That Don’t Take Forever

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

If there’s one thing I know about cars, it’s…absolutely nothing. Seriously, I’m the kind of person who pops the hood, stares at the engine like it’s an ancient relic, and then quietly shuts it again, pretending I knew what I was looking for.

And don’t even get me started on doing an oil change—because the only thing I’d confidently change is my mind about attempting it myself. That’s why I don’t mess around; I stick to my trusted spot where a pro can carry out my oil change without worries.

To help others who feel the same way as me, I rounded up the best oil change shops in Toronto so you can keep your engine purring without the stress (or accidental destruction).

How much does an oil change cost in Toronto?

Most auto shops in Toronto will charge you $60 for a standard oil change service.

Please note that this price may vary depending on the type of oil and service you choose.

How We Chose

Oil type and quality – We assessed whether these shops offer high-quality synthetic and conventional oils that are made by reputable brands like Pennzoil, Valvoline, and Castrol.
Additional services – We prefer oil change shops that offer additional services like complementary tire pressure checks, fluid top-offs, and general inspections that make your visit more worthwhile.
Accessibility – We evaluated whether these shops are near major roads or can provide mobile oil change services anywhere in Toronto. We also checked whether they’re available on most days of the week.
Customer service – We looked at whether their staff members always treat their clients with respect and are quick to respond to any enquiries.
Price fairness – We also considered whether their prices are fair based on the quality of their oils, the additional services they provide, their warranties, and their accessibility.

If you’ve ever put off an oil change because you didn’t feel like driving to an auto shop, Lubevan Mobile Oil & Tire might be worth considering. They come to you—whether you’re at home or work—and handle everything right there.

One thing they do differently is their closed-loop oil extraction and injection system, which basically means they swap out your old oil without making a mess. It’s good, especially if you care about keeping things clean and eco-friendly.

What’s also nice is that they back their work with an oil change guarantee. They even have a subscription plan so you can stay on top of your car maintenance without scrambling for appointments.

However, there are trade-offs. Since they’re a mobile service, you’re paying extra for the convenience. The demand for their services is also quite high, so booking an appointment with them will be a bit difficult.

Pros

  • Mobile oil change service
  • Uses a closed-loop oil extraction and injection system
  • Has an oil change guarantee
  • Offers maintenance subscription plans

Cons

  • Above-average prices
  • Tends to get fully booked quickly

LubeVan is a great service especially for people with fluid scheduling

“LubeVan is a great service especially for people with fluid scheduling. They come to you at work, home, or on your own service call. Rob has looked after my oil changes etc since I got the car. He is informative if you have questions and takes the time to explain things you need to know.. I have already referred them to friends and family. Thanks for all you do! Cheryl”

Been a customer for 2 years and I love how they come to you

“Been a customer for 2 years and I love how they come to you. I live in a condo and they were able to get the job done at the curb side parking. Very professional, always on time, and clearly explained all the work done via their report. Excellent service and value!”

With no appointment needed, Jiffy Lube is a solid choice if you need a quick oil change. All you need to do is stop by their shop in Etobicoke, and one of their mechanics will get to work right away.

A huge reason why I think they’re one of the best is their signature oil change service. Not only do they swap out the oil, but they also check fluids and filters and do a quick chassis lubrication to help prevent wear on moving parts.

It’s also good that they back up their oil change with a 3-month warranty. They even have the Advantage Program, which gives members access to exclusive discounts and prizes.

That said, their prices are on the higher side compared to other shops. I recommend checking other options first, especially if you don’t live nearby.

Pros

  • No appointment needed
  • Oil change includes additional services
  • 3-month warranty
  • Has a membership program

Cons

  • Above-average prices
  • Location a bit far from Toronto’s eastern suburbs

Mr. Lube+Tires is my go-to spot for oil changes. The biggest reason is convenience, as they have 15 locations across the GTA, and you don’t need an appointment, so it’s easy to drop in whenever you need service.

I also appreciate that I never had to wait more than half an hour. Plus, every oil change comes with a free courtesy check. It’s nothing fancy, just a quick look at your fluids, tire pressure, wipers, and lights to make sure everything is good.

Another huge reason why I keep coming back here is the Mr.Lube+Tires Club. It gives me regular discounts and stores my car’s previous service records online, which makes tracking maintenance way easier.

However, their upselling can be frustrating. The staff tends to push extra services when all I want is a simple oil change.

Pros

  • No appointment needed
  • 15 locations across the GTA
  • Free courtesy check with every oil change
  • Has a membership program

Cons

  • Tends to upsell their other services
  • Some rude staff

Take 5 Oil Change in Etobicoke is another spot that lets you skip the hassle of scheduling an appointment. Just pull up, hang out in the waiting room, and wait for their techs to change your oil while you enjoy a free drink while you wait.

They provide regular (conventional), semi-synthetic, and full synthetic oil, depending on what your car needs. Along with changing your oil and filter, they’ll also top up essential fluids and check your tire pressure, which is always helpful.

But the best thing is that they’re usually quick. You’re usually in and out in about 10 minutes, which is good if you’re trying to get on with your day.

Unfortunately, their staff tend to push extra services quite a bit. Having dealt with this at my regular oil change spot, I know how frustrating it can be.

Pros

  • No appointment needed
  • Can do oil change in 10 minutes
  • Free drink while you wait
  • Oil change includes additional services

Cons

  • Tends to upsell their other services
  • Location a bit far from Toronto’s eastern suburbs

Fast, fair and good service

“These guys are the best. Fast, fair and good service. Yesterday the General Manager of the franchise helped change my winter tires because they were busy – great service!”

If you’ve driven around Toronto long enough, you’ve probably spotted a Midas shop somewhere since they have five locations across the city. They’re a solid choice for oil changes, thanks to their straightforward approach.

They swap out the oil and filter, check for leaks, and throw in their Closer Look Vehicle Check, which is basically a free once-over to make sure nothing major is wrong with your car.

One handy perk is their credit card, which lets you finance your oil change at no interest. Furthermore, they regularly offer discount coupons, so it’s easy to save a bit of cash.

That said, some customers have mentioned long wait times, sometimes hours before their cars get serviced. And it’s frustrating that they occasionally cancel appointments at the last minute.

You should definitely keep those in mind when booking.

Pros

  • 5 locations in Toronto
  • Oil change includes free car inspection
  • Offers financing options
  • Regularly offers special discounts

Cons

  • Long wait times
  • Sometimes cancels appointments abruptly

I appreciated the extra effort they made

“Had a long trip and change oil light came on. There was no appointment available on a long weekend. However they fit me in due to a cancellation. The staff were great. I appreciated the extra effort they made. Would not hesitate to recommend them.”
