My secret? I use interlocking pavers. They’re stylish, way tougher than they look, terrific for draining, and surprisingly low-fuss when it comes to upkeep.

Simon and his MVR Landscaping team gave my yard a glow-up, so I’m quite familiar with what they bring. The first noteworthy one is experience; they’ve been at it since 2010.
Can’t say anything negative about the results either. I hired them in 2022, and so far, the stonework remains beautiful and durable, with zero signs of puddling.
Price-wise, they didn’t hit me with a number beyond the city’s average. The quotes themselves stood out, as they were fair and delivered within 24 hours.
That said, it wouldn’t hurt if they had an automatic estimation tool.
On the upside, I didn’t deal with commission-based markups and the inflated prices (or pushy sales talk) they often lead to. The total cost primarily depended on the labour and materials.
Speaking of materials, MVR works with established manufacturers, like Techo-Bloc and Permacon, which is a major plus for reliability.
They close shop on Sundays, though. Some contractors here operate 24/7.
We Were Not Disappointed
After a lot of research and receiving multiple quotes from a number of landscaping companies (including the company that installed our new pool) we decided to go with Simon. We were not disappointed. They completed our pool deck, regraded our yard, completed sod installation as well as the installation of artificial turf. I really liked Simon’s transparency on his pricing. Like the first entry, GTA Landscaping Toronto is no rookie, providing full-service landscaping for over 12 years now.
They’re also quite cost-effective if we’re talking Toronto standards. For example, basic concrete pavers with standard designs typically set our interviewees back about $17 to $20 per sq ft.
Moreover, they have eco-friendly materials and aren’t stingy when it comes to seasonal discounts. Last time we visited, they offered 20% off pool-related offerings.
Clients have praised their crew as well, most saying they were responsive, friendly, and professional. I’d say it helps that they send an all-in-house team, which eliminates outsourcing-caused hassles.
A cause for concern, however, is that some clients said the company’s response speed isn’t the best, a few even saying they didn’t get any at all.
There were also reported instances of meetings being cancelled, which can be a massive headache for busy bees with tight schedules.
The End Product Looks Good
GTA Interlocked worked within our short timeline to design and install a drainage system and platform for our exterior steps. The end product looks good and functions well. Communication was good, as they were very responsive and accommodating.

Interlocks Toronto’s efficiency caught our team’s attention. You see, most of their projects, be it for a driveway or patio, were finished within 2 to 3 days.
Their attention to detail and flexibility are wins, too. Clients have noted how seamlessly they install pavers, resulting in a project that’s compatible with existing layouts, both in terms of looks and functionality.
We gave them high grades on the customer service front as well. Justin thoroughly and professionally answered all our questions, like the difference between pavers and concrete, their pricing model, and more.
Discounts are rare, though, and they’re a relatively small team, so longer lead times for scheduling can happen.
Beyond that, Interlocks is a reliable choice. Having 7-plus years and over 950 projects in their portfolio says a lot.

If experience tops your priority list, Delta Classic Homes has over 30 years of it. That’s evident in their team, said to be extremely technical and efficient, with projects being completed generally within a week.
The nice part is they don’t act like those robotic contractors who are a pain to work with. Several described them as personable, with the workers cleaning up after installation being the cherry on top.
We just wish they also installed pavers on Sundays, like the majority of our other picks.
No complaints on the quality, though. They’re Baumler-approved, after all. In fact, a bunch of our teammates went to Delta, and their surfaces have remained tough and sharp even after about 8 to 10 years.
The downside of that is they’re usually in high demand. Best be patient.

For us, awards matter, which is why VIP Paving made the cut. This reputable contractor, with 20 years in its name, has consecutively won notable ones, including Homestar’s ‘Best of’ titles from 2021 up to 2025.
Well, that’s not too shocking if you hired them before. For one, the team normally turns up no matter the weather, be it wet, scorching, or snowy.
In addition, they have a diverse selection of stones (aside from bricks and concrete) that are naturally resilient in Canadian weather. We’re talking about materials like slate and granite, which also come in unique colours, including jade green and charcoal.
VIP does commercial paving as well, making them a fit choice for more heavy-duty projects.
A small hiccup is their Saturday unavailability. The bigger snag is their history of late callbacks and emails.
On a positive note, they tend to offer price cuts and package deals.

Project Went Smoothly With No Major Hiccups
We’re very pleased with how this project turned out, and Nathan and his team were incredibly professional throughout the process. We’re happy to have worked with VIP Paving. We contacted a number of companies to inquire about repaving our driveway, installing patio stones, installing flagstone for the front porch, and resodding the backyard. We ultimately went with VIP because of how thorough Nathan was in explaining the process, the difference between various materials used, and how his team would be doing things. Once we signed the contract, the project went smoothly with no major hiccups. When there were some minor issues, Costa patiently explained the issue to me and provided a couple of options to resolve the problem. After the project was completed, the team cleaned up the premises nicely and put everything back the way it was. We also appreciated that Nathan came by each time a component of the project was done for a walkthrough and gave us an opportunity to raise any concerns (not that there was in our case).
