Riverdale Artwalk
When: May 31 to June 1, 2025
Where: Jimmie Simpson Park and Community Centre, 870 Queen Street East
Heads up, art lovers! The Riverdale ArtWalk is back again for its 27th year, once again shining a spotlight on Toronto’s finest emerging and established artists. Just like last year, you’ll find it in Leslieville’s Jimmie Simpson Park.
You wouldn’t want to miss this one, since there are 165 artists participating this time around. Some of the standouts include Christopher Barnabe, Daria Beer, Isabella Bruni, and Christie Baker, each bringing their unique style to the show.
As a long-time fan of this annual event, I always set aside a day to fully take it all in. There’s something about viewing art under the open sky that feels different—way more freeing than a museum’s four walls, not gonna lie.

I’m especially excited to see Zoë Craig’s dreamy landscapes. There’s a softness to them that makes you want to step right into the scene.
I’m also planning to see some of the works of David Carmichael, whose love for nature shines through in his vibrant, calming landscapes that feel like a love letter to the outdoors.
And for those who are looking for more unique artworks, I definitely recommend checking out some of Jennifer Raetsen’s works. Her textured works carry a Van Gogh-like movement that makes them feel alive.

What’s also cool about Riverdale ArtWalk is that we will get the chance to meet the artists themselves. You can chat with them, hear the stories behind their works, and even take home a piece if something speaks to you.
Don’t worry, every sale will go 100% directly to the creator. You won’t have to worry about some middleman being involved and taking a portion of their hard-earned money.
Best of all? Free admission. You can explore at your own pace without spending a dime. And with a tram stop right next to the venue, there’s no need to worry about parking. Hope to see you there!
