Canada Day Celebration

Join Canada's birthday celebration party and enjoy family entertainment, live concerts, music, large-scale events, cultural programs and much more! The major fascination of the Canada Day festivities is breathtaking fireworks displays that take place roughly around 10pm.
There are many locations in Toronto that offer Canada Day revelry including the fireworks. The major events usually occur every year at Harbourfront Centre, Mel Lastman Square, Ashbridges Bay, Centennial Park, Canada's Wonderland and Downsview Park.
My personal pick is Harbourfront Centre with fabulous lake views, cool breeze, cruises and paddle boating as additional attractions.
Shakespeare in High Park
When: July 2 - September 1, 2013, 8.00PM

Shakespeare in High Park - the annual outdoor play event is a very popular summer fixture in Toronto. Every summer Canadian Stage presents some of the most outstanding and influential works by William Shakespeare under the stars at the High Park amphitheatre.
This summer, enjoy Macbeth and The Taming of the Shrew at Shakespeare in High Park. Both these works will be playing on alternate nights, Tuesday-Saturday until September 1. Bring your food, beverages, blankets and bug spray.
Seating is available on first-come, first-served basis. Come early to get your desired spot. Doors open at 6pm.
The Toronto Fringe Festival

With more than 100 troupes and close to 150 theatre shows, The Fringe Festival is Toronto's biggest and most incredible annual theatre festival. Each year the festival offers some quirky, off-beat and experimental shows by emerging and established artists from different parts of the globe.
Join the party and enjoy high-quality drama, musical, dance show or play. You never know, you might just catch the next blockbuster! Make sure to get there early, the festival do not allow latecomers!
There is more than shows and plays at the Fringe Festival. The outdoor Fringe Club offers live music, buskers, bands, visual artists, Tent Talks and crowd favourite McAuslan Beer Tent. Check the website for schedule and tickets.
Taste of Lawrence

For three days in July, Lawrence Avenue East turns into foodies' paradise as more than 200,000 day-trippers come out to savour delicious foods and enjoy multicultural entertainment.

Toronto's staple event for food-lovers, Summerlicious offers great opportunity to sample a variety of mouth-watering cuisine at city's top-notch restaurants. Ritmo Y Color

As the biggest Latin American festival in Canada, Ritmo Y Color showcases rich and diverse culture of South and Central America.
The festival offers fantastic fusion of avant-garde music, contemporary dance performances, dynamic films, eye-popping theatre plays, passionate live discussion, and amazing visual arts displays.
The three-day long event at the Harbourfront Centre also offers several family-friendly activities, games and workshops.
Festival of South Asia
When: July 6-7, 2013
Where: Gerrard India Bazzar (Gerrard Street between Coxwell and Greenwood), Toronto
If you crave lip-smacking Indian cuisine and Bollywood hits, come out to Gerrard India Bazaar during the TD Festival of South Asia. Enjoy and experience the sights, smells and sounds of South Asian culture with authentic food, music, dance and talent show.

Afrofest gives you glimpse of rich African culture and diversity right in the heart of Toronto. Held annually at the Woodbine Park since last 24 years, the festival is a celebration of African music, food and arts, with lots of exciting things to see and do.
The two-day event offers traditional African music and dance on three outdoor stages, featuring both Canadian and international performers. You will find plenty of food and crafts stalls, dynamic African marketplace, workshops, art exhibits and family activities.

Caribbean Carnival Toronto is biggest Caribbean street festival of the North America. The gala offers exciting sights and sounds of Caribbean culture, and is one of most anticipated Toronto events in July. The three-week cultural revelry promises non-stop events, each providing exclusive and exhilarating Caribbean experience.
Treat yourself with lip-smacking Caribbean cuisine, enjoy exciting music and explore bright and multi-coloured exhibits. You can enjoy many wonderful shows and competition like 'King and Queen show', 'Kaiso 365', 'Clash of Tents', 'Pan Alive' to name a few. Experience the thrill and joy as young masqueraders participate in the Junior Carnival.

The three-day event is Toronto's top sporting event featuring several racing series and tons of off-track activities and attractions. Get ready for nerve-racking races, incredible live music and interactive displays.
The major attraction of the spectacle is the IZOD IndyCar Series along with few other racing series including Acura Sports Car Challenge, Castrol Canadian touring Car Championship and SCCA Pro-Racing Trans-Am Series.
You can enjoy several exhibits, live entertainment, interactive activities, motorbike stunts and games spread around the racing circuit. SoundClash Music Festival

The SoundClash Music festival is an annual live music festival of cutting-edge, contemporary music of all genres. The 3-day long music festival features live performances by SoundClash Music awards nominees and other artists.
The much anticipated SoundClash Music Awards Nominee Showcase will be presented on July 13 on the Redpath stage.
Festival of India
When: July 13-14, 2013
Where: Yonge Street and Toronto Centre Island, Toronto
The Festival of India (also known as Ratha-Yatra) is a spiritual festival held annually in Toronto since last 40 years. The event is free and open to the public.
The event commences with a grand spectacular parade moving across Yonge Street (beginning at Bloor St and continuing to Queens Quay near the Lake Ontario), creating a divine atmosphere accompanied by chanting, singing and dancing.
After the parade, the festivities continue throughout the weekend at Toronto Centre Island with lots of exciting things to see and do. The festival features traditional Indian arts and cultural shows, savory Indian delicacies, yoga sessions, South Asian Bazaar, face painting, henna tattoos, and vendors' booths.
TD IRIE Music Festival

Fusion of Taste

Toronto Beer Festival
When: July 26-28, 2013

Summer, cool bear and live music! Sounds interesting? Well, that is what Toronto Beer Festival is known for. The outdoor festival celebrates the Canadas favourite drink the golden beverage at Bandshell Park, near Exhibition Place.
Canada's largest beer festival offers beer from over 60 brewers featuring 200+ brands, scrumptious food and live entertainment - this year's headliners include Big Sugar, Escort, De La Soul, and Spin Doctors.
Minimum ticket price is $39.50, which includes 5 sample tokens and festival sampling cup. Tickets can be purchased online. But make sure you don't drive after drinks.
